Application for Ginny Weasley
Player Information
Name: Bree

Age: technically I’m 17… but I’ll be 18 on May 22, so may we please overlook the teeny age gap? I’m mature, I swear ^.^;
IM screen names: xabidingfaithx
Email: xabiding_faithx@yahoo.com

Where did you hear about us?: searched asylums for Harry Potter rpg (just joined insanejournal from greatestjournal, which died (rip), found you in an ad

Why did you apply to Tempus Fugit, and what do you feel you can bring to the game?: It has been a while since I’ve been involved in an rpg, and now that senior year is winding down (thank god) I’d like to immerse myself again. I’m a high energy rp-er and a decent writer, and would be stoked to play Ginny. I’ve never had the chance to play a trio-era main character, and would welcome the challenge! This seems like it will be a long-term rpg, which is what I’m looking for, and I’m excited to be (potentially) involved.

Previous RP experience: I’ve been rping for or years or so, as Andromeda Black- Tonks, Fabian Prewett and James Potter in various Maurader’s Age rpgs, as well as Lavender Brown and two OC’s in trio eras.

Character Information

Name of character you are applying for: Ginny Weasley

Age of character you are applying for (physical age, if one of the resurrected): 18

Birthday: August 11, 1981

PB: Bree Czudak

Wand: 10 inches, cedar, pheonix feather, especially good for charms and curses

House at Hogwarts: Gryffindor

Family
Parents: Arthur and Molly (Prewett) Weasley
Siblings: Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, and Ron
Family interactions: The void left by the death of Fred is almost irreconcilable, and the return of the betrayer Percy to the family has left the entire Weasley family to feel out new dynamics. Ginny remains incredibly close to her overbearing mother who, though she cannot help but worry, recognizes that Ginny has earned her place in the adult wizarding world. The family has united to help George cope with the loss of his other half, and Ginny especially spends most of her free time with her older brother. She has found a confidante in Hermione, whom she regards as an older sister now that Ron and Hermione are dating.

Occupation: Her final year at Hogwarts, she was scouted for a place on the Holyhead Harpies. She is torn between pursuing this dream and remaining close to home.

Residence: The Burrow; though she is of age to own her own flat, she has chosen to remain home for a time in order to assist her mother in brothers in whatever way she can.

Financial status: She remains less than well off, which is common for the Weasley family

Political views: She, like most of her family, is completely supportive of Kingsley Shacklebolt. She is not much interested in the politics of the country and acquiesces to much of what her father rants about in regards to the Ministry.

Blood Status: Pureblood

Sexuality: Straight. Ginny was a very popular girl in Hogwarts. In her fourth year she dated both Michael Corner and Dean Thomas before finally becoming involved with Harry Potter, whom she had adored from the time she had first met him. They broke the relationship off before her sixth year, and though she cares for him deeply still her heart remains in constant tumult. Even now, two years after the defeat of Voldemort, Harry has yet to fully pursue her as she deeply desires. She often credits his seeming disinterest on his continuing efforts to “protect her” from any remaining threat, but as time continues she cannot help but grow angry and hurt by his distance. She thus fills her time with her family and avoids the flat that her brother, Harry and Hermione share in hopes of avoiding Harry at all costs. Her indecision about joining the Harpies comes not from concern for her family as much as Harry; though she knows being far from him may be the best remedy to her heartbreak, she cannot help but hope that, so long as she remains close, he may finally return to her. She is disgusted by her continued girlish woes; it is very unlike her to sit and wait in ardent misery, but she cannot seem to move past what they once had and she believes, in her deepest of hearts, that Harry still loves her.

Physical description

Height: 5’ 2”
Weight: 120 lbs.
Distinguishing marks: She is a small lightening bolt tattoo low on her left hip, one that no one has ever seen nor knows about.

Give us a description of your character's appearance: She is small for her 18 years, with an athletic build and fair skin. She works out regularly in order to stay in shape for Quiddich, and there is nothing like a good run to clear her head of otherwise consuming thoughts in those post-war world. Her auburn hair is her glowing asset—long and full, she demands stares when she tosses her locks over her shoulder, catching the light. Freckles accent a round face and full cheeks, giving her a childlike appearance, but her bright eyes show that she is anything but innocent. Fierce and daunting, they match her set jaw and warn onlookers of messing with her, regardless of her small stature.

Give us a description of your character's personality: Ginny is often overlooked because of her small statue, but she is in fact a very powerful witch. Like the bulk of her family, is incredibly self-assured. She has from birth been headstrong, and being raised with six brothers left a lasting strength in her character. She has a natural knack for mischief and rule-breaking, a genetic attribute prominent in her twin brothers and seen in her own character often while she was at Hogwarts. She was an original member of Dumbledore’s Army (which she consequently named) and in her sixth year, she was a leader in the retaliation against the Carrows. Another genetic gift is her temper; Ginny has a fiery disposition when her patience is tried, and sets off at the drop of a hat. Her temper is that of a child, though, quick and hot—she forgives as easily as she ignites. She is headstrong to the point of being dangerously obstinate. When she is set on something, she lets nothing get in her way, and this is best exemplified in her backbreaking training to become a prominent figure on the Quidditch scene. Ginny is loyal to fault to family, friends, and her own desires. She is confident and impervious in most areas of her life, save her interactions with Harry. He is her kryptonite, and she cannot seem to find strength of self enough to address her issues of her heart with him. Thus, she remains loyal to him but not longing in an effort to seem strong which, she hopes, will keep her desirable to him. More and more often her temper surfaces with him to mask her pain, straining their friendship past a point of comfort.

History
Please give us a brief history of what happened to your character past canon to bring them to this point. At the end of the war, Ginny was left with a broken family, a deeper sense of self, and a heart open and waiting for Harry’s return. Her vulnerability, however, was met only by hurt and bitterness. The summer before her final year at Hogwarts saw little of Harry, save a quiet and bitter talk they had in the backyard of the Borrow in which Harry fervently expressed his affection for Ginny (both verbally and otherwise) but explained that the postwar world needed his attentions in a way that may still leave her exposed to danger if they were to get involved again immediately. With a promise to wait for him patiently, Ginny was left in emotional tumult unknown to her sense of self. The next year, she threw herself into Quidditch with an unmatched fierceness. She grew, in that final year, into a brilliant seeker, and was scouted for the Holyhead Harpies. She is currently deciding whether or not to sign with them.

Resurrected Characters (please ignore if not applicable to your character)

If you are applying for someone who is still alive at the end of the series, and would like them to be considered for death and resurrection, please explain why:

If your character is one of the resurrected, what is their last memory and why have they returned at their particular age?:

Each person who returns from the dead using the magic of the resurrection stone must have a reason to come back. Not only would the character want to return, they must be needed by someone for something. Why have they been brought back? Who wanted them to return? Why?

Plotting

What short and long term goals do you have for your character?:
I’d like to first define her relationship with Harry (I thought not having them immediately involved opened her up for much more growth as they progressively work toward getting back together) and eventually sign with the Harpies.

How does your character feel about the post-war world?: Ginny tends to see the world in black and white, and is quite okay with Death Eaters receiving the kiss, thank you very much. She harbors a thirst for revenge in the name of her dead brother George, and seeing Death Eaters brought to justice is an essential part of her healing process. Coming from a family of “Muggle lovers”, she completely supports the increased assimilation of Muggleborns into the Wizarding Community.

Now that we are familiar with your characterization, please provide us with role playing sample so that we can get an idea of your writing style.

The steps were still slick from last night’s rain as Ginny jogged up to the small white door of the flat. Her breath was coming fast—though the five mile jog was a daily ritual, her body felt heavy from her overindulgence of butterbeer the night before. Katie and Angela had always thrown the best parties known to Gryffindor Tower, but they had outdone themselves to celebrate Ginny’s 18th birthday. She thought of what Hermione told her at tea the other day about the coming of age for Muggles, and shook her head. She couldn’t imagine having made it through this last year as an underage—thank goodness she was a witch.

When she reached the stoop she gripped the railing suddenly as her vision became quickly blurred. Her other hand flew to her head, which felt heavy and clammy. She became furious with herself for her hedonism as she lowered herself down onto the cool cement. Kicking her strong, pale legs out and open, she bent herself over, placed her forehead on the cement between her legs and closed her eyes. She had her wand on her, but knew nothing of healing spells save a few mends necessary in the air during Quidditch. Cursing her light weight, she began to breathe deeply as her pulse grew strong behind her eyes.

A vague memory began to take shape in Ginny’s mottled mind in the form of her dearest friend—yes, Hermione had been there last night, and she would of course assume Ginny’s physical state this morning… Ginny was filled with gratitude as she knocked on the door of the flat, hoping that a hangover elixir would meet her the minute Hermione laid eyes on this sweaty, clammy and quite pathetic looking figure.

She heard footsteps almost immediately, and sighed in appreciation. The door swung open and in her peripherals, Ginny saw a pair of feet step out onto the threshold. But those weren’t overly feminine feet…

“NO!” she screeched as she swung her head up off the ground. Her auburn ponytail whipped him full in the face, for he had already stepped behind her and reached around to grip her under her arms. She began to pull against his grip, writhing like a child. “No, no, I’m fine thank you, please let go of me, I’m fine!”

Though she was a perfectly sculpted athlete, she could not match his own natural strength and thus was quickly lifted to her feet regardless of her objections. Her skin blazed hot under his fingers, and the moment she found her feet she wretched herself from his grasp and whipped about. “I told you to leave me be, I’m fine! You don’t need to go about saving people all the time!”

With that, she was mortified. Can you be any more of an arse!? she screamed to herself. He was just trying to help! Any friend would do that, for goodness sake, and you looked like a blithering idiot, laying on his stoop like a child! By this time her freckles were lost on her crimson cheeks, and she could not meet his bright green eyes.

“Sorry Harry, I didn’t mean to snap. I’m not feeling well after my run and I just… wasn’t expecting you, I guess.”
