The younger years were escorted back inside as dusk fell, and the fire was set ablaze. There were wards set to sound an alarm if anyone were to leave the gathering area alone, assuring that students left in pairs or groups to move about the grounds and enjoy the Beltane evening. Chaperones were present, but not overbearing, and the weather was quite pleasant for spring in Scotland. And best of all, the curfew was extended until midnight.
