She hadn't been making much progress lately. Most of the stuff she'd found was centred around Inferi, or else mostly fictional or legendary. Not that she'd completely disregarded that, though; places where the legends corroborated were more likely to be useful. Right now, she was using some of those to cross-reference with a few books she'd picked up over holiday in what was left of Knockturn Alley. These suggested that there were different levels of necromancy, and that she could summon spirits... and that gave her an awful, terrible, brilliant idea.

Perhaps, she thought as she jotted down notes, she could find out how to summon the spirits first, and worry about having them cross back over later. It could be a litmus test; if they showed up, then she could go ahead, and if they didn't... well, that meant they were still alive, didn't it? Granted, she'd have to try it on someone she knew was dead for that to make sense, but...

Writing like the wind, she then set back to flipping through her books. She needed to find all she could. What a lead!
