Sense Memory
Title: Sense Memory
Author: Shirahime
Rating: PG
Word Count: 153
Summary: When Goku looks at Sanzo, sometimes he remembers.

There is something in the way that Sanzo walks that reminds Goku of a figure clad in white strutting down decorated corridors, golden hair trailing in his wake. The priest’s harsh glare cast over his shoulder as they ride through the countryside makes Goku think of a time where a similar gaze softened, lips turning up with the hint of a smile.

There are times at night when Goku remembers the sensation of warm arms wrapped around him in the darkness, the feel of a hand stroking dark locks, a familiar scent surrounding him. In the morning, he wakes wanting, craving the touch his body remembers.

These momentary visions, these fleeting glimpses are from a time that Goku doesn’t know. Sometimes Goku puzzles over them, but usually he casts them from his mind. Whatever happened in times since past, he has what he needs in the here and now, and perhaps that’s enough.
