Never Get Tired of You
Who: Arabella and Brian
What: Breakfast in bed
When: 10.16 - Sunday Morning
Where: Brian's home
Warnings: None
When Arabella woke that morning, she was still tingling from the night before. It was funny how her body could feel on fire and yet she still had goosebumps. It was all Brian's fault, naturally. She couldn't remember the last time she'd felt this way. Hell, she knew she'd never felt this way in her life. Which was all the more reason for her to do something nice for him since he'd surpassed every lover she ever had in her life. She got out of the bed as quietly as she could manage and grabbed his shirt from the night before from the floor. She pulled it on and found her purse still where she left it. Sliding the brush she kept in there through her hair, she tucked it back inside her pocketbook and headed to the kitchen. She found some fresh fruit and made a simple breakfast with bananas, strawberries and pancakes. Along with some orange juice to wash it down with.
She found a tray and brought the meal back to Brian's room, carefully setting it on the bedside table and then crawling back into bed with the man. Curling in against him, she gently kissed along his shoulder to his neck, then up to his ear. "Wake up, sleepyhead," she whispered, nipping at his earlobe.
Arabella's emotions were far too mellow and even to do more than make Brian smile softly in his sleep when she woke up. He was vaguely aware she was awake and moving around downstairs, but since she felt content, there was no reason to get out of bed. He drifted back off to sleep, until the smell of food and her warm body and warm emotions were in bed with him. "Morning," he murmured, turning to face Arabella and give her soft kiss. "You didn't have to make breakfast, sweetheart." It was sweet of her, especially considering she had to be as tired as he was after last night. "Thank you."
She was tired, but in a dull and glorious aching sort of way. "I know I didn't have to," she told him as she settled in beside him on the bed and shifted the tray over his lap. "I wanted to. A little... repayment for last night," she smiled. "I'm still tingling. The least I could do was make you some breakfast. Give you back some of your energy," Arabella laughed.
It was definitely a good tired. Brian sat up, shaking his head. "You don't need to repay me for last night," he assured her, pulling Arabella close. "I assure you, I enjoyed it just as much as you did. Probably more." He kissed her cheek. "But it smells really good. You're gonna have to share with me, because I can't eat this much. Appetite like a bird, my mama used to complain all the time."
Arabella flushed a little when he talked of how much he'd enjoyed the night before. She certainly hoped it had been good for him. Brian was the most attentive lover that she'd ever had. Likely the most attentive lover known to man, but she kept that thought to herself as she leaned into him. "Well then we'll both get our strength up," she smiled. "And then I can get out of your hair before you tire of me."
Brian was mid bite when she said that. "Why would I tire of you?" he asked. "Arabella, honey, stop selling yourself so short. You're a beautiful, sweet, wonderful woman. I don't get that kind of company nearly often enough. So you just get that idea out of your head now. You can go whenever you want, but I won't be kicking you out anytime soon. Besides the fact I'm enjoying your company, it'd be just plain crazy." Really, the woman's self esteem was just appalling low.
She wasn't sure how to respond to his question. She could try to explain the way she felt, but really there was no point. He wasn't Dan and she had to keep reminding herself of that fact. She put on a smile and nodded a little. "I'll try," she told him, picking up a bit of strawberry and popping it into her mouth. She was glad he wasn't going to just kick her out. She wasn't ready to go yet. "I enjoy your company too," she murmured. "And not just because of the mindblowing orgasms," she teased.
Exactly. Brian understood how she felt. But he wasn't Dan and he wasn't going to hurt her or yell at her or belittle her. It would take Arabella some time and positive reinforcement to really know that. Until then, he just had to be patient. "Thank you," he said, then took a bite of one of the pancakes. "This is really good."
She smiled at his compliment on her cooking. "I'm glad you think so," she told him, turning her head to kiss his cheek. Yes, it would take some time, but Arabella was already starting to feel a little better not only about herself, but about where she was going. Even if this thing between herself and Brian didn't turn into anything, he'd helped her so much already.
He didn't expect it to go anywhere. Just because a fine girl like Arabella would likely attract herself a new knight in shining armor sooner or later. While Brian was sweet and understanding and even a little romantic, his luck in love had been no better than hers. There'd just been more of it and none of them really wanted him for anything but sex. Arabella at least seemed to have a few common interests, so at the very least, he'd end up with a friend who wanted to do more than just sleep with him when her current relationship was on the rocks.
"It looks as if the rain's stopped," he told Arabella. "We can have lunch out in the rock garden if it clears off. If you've not tired of me by lunchtime." He was teasing, even though it was a distinct possibly. It wasn't as if he was terribly interesting or lively.
Arabella smiled at him and shook her head. "Impossible," she told him. "I think I could feed off of your good vibes forever if you'd let me," she admitted. It was a lovely change from what she was used to. It was lovely even just to have someone who understood her, whether it was because he felt what she felt or just because he listened to her unlike most of the people in her life at current. "Lunch in the rock garden sounds wonderful," she told him. "I won't be tired of you by then. Might be tired out by you," she grinned.
"Considering you are projecting those good vibes right back at me?" he reminded her. "Yes, this could become addictive." Arabella was sweet and beautiful and kind. When she felt good about herself, she radiated happiness and contentment. Which was definitely addictive. That was another thing that could become addictive. The way she let go and expressed herself at the height of passion. "I can try to behave myself if you want," he teased her. Not that he really wanted to, especially with Arabella curled up in bed with him in nothing but one of his shirts. "That way you'll be well rested for lunch."
She grinned at him. "Yeah, like that's going to happen," she murmured, picking up another bit of strawberry and laying back against his pillows. "I don't think I want you to behave yourself," she admitted as she ate the bit of fruit. "I find I quite enjoy it when you're being naughty."
Yes, she was making it very hard for him to concentrate on eating when she laid back like that and gave him that kind of invitation. And started projecting desire like that. Brian forced himself to take a bite of pancake, then offered her one. They both needed to eat before they got involved in such vigorous activities. Feeding her would just be lovely foreplay. "Good," he drawled. "I'm not sure I can behave myself considering the circumstances. Don't really want to, if I'm being completely honest."
Arabella leaned up to take a bite of the offered pancake. Foreplay indeed. She was preening a little at her forethought to make most of breakfast easily shared pieces. Even if this hadn't been her particular plan, it worked just as good if not better. The drawl in his voice was intoxicating and she found herself unable to wipe the grin off of her lips. "Good," she murmured in response. "You've got a long morning of misbehaving to attend to."
