Who: Chloe, Dimitri, Xander and Charlie
What: Helping out sick friend
When: Friday night around eleven
Where: Xander's place
Warnings: Swearing
"I'm sorry about having to leave a little early," Chloe said as she glanced over at Dimitri. Charlie had called asking if she could get a ride back to their house, Xander apparently being too sick from the withdrawals for her sister to really want to let him drive. Agreeing completely with her sister, she hadn't hesitated in saying yes, she'd get Dimitri to come pick her up. Still she felt badly for ending their date a little sooner than she'd planned. Dimitri didn't really seem to mind all that much, however. Just one more thing that made her fall even more in love with the boy than she already was. "You're pretty amazing, you know that?" she asked, curling in against her boyfriend as they made the trip out to Xander's place. "I'm lucky to have you."
Dimitri had his arm around Chloe as he drove toward Xander's, unable to help but worry for his best friend. He knew Xander was probably sick indeed if Charlie was refusing to allow him to drive. "You're amazing yourself, Freckles." he said with a smile, kissing the top of her head. "I'm the lucky one in all this." He did feel like he was the lucky one. The luckiest man in the whole world that Chloe chose to love him.
She smiled at his words, and at the nickname that still drove her insanely wild in all the best of ways. "How bout we're just both lucky?" she murmured. That was how she felt about the situation. She loved him and he loved her. There was no other way about it and she couldn't have been happier if she'd tried.
"I can agree to that." he said with a chuckle as he pulled into Xander's driveway. "I swear, every time I come here I feel like I'm in a horror movie." he said as he parked his truck. He noted Xander's sister's car wasn't there and he hopped out of the track, going around to let Chloe out. "His sister's not here, thank god. She freaks me the hell out."
Chloe glanced around through the windshield of the car and frowned a little. She shivered visibly as she got out of the truck, fingers lacing immediately through Dimitri's. "This place gives me the creeps," she told him honestly. "I feel like someone's going to come running out of the trees with an axe."
He chuckled and squeezed her hand. "No one's going to come out of the trees with an axe." he assured her. "Though I'll admit, place is really creepy. Add Lilith and it's down right horrifying." He walked up to the house, letting them in as fuck if Dimitri ever knocked. "Xander, Charlie, we're here." he called. "Pull your pants up Xander!"
Xander groaned and pulled his pillow over his head. "Fuck you, cocksucker," he mumbled into the fabric of his bedsheets. "Do you always have to be so loud?" He doubted he was actually as loud as he seemed, but his brain was throbbing as he lay in the bed curled in against Charlie. "Charlie, eat him for me, please?"
Charlie smiled a little, rubbing his back gently. "I would, but then Chloe would eat me and there'd be blood all over the place, very messy." she said softly. He had been getting worse as the hours had gone by. The tea had kept his nausea controlled, but he was a bit feverish and his head had been pounding. Charlie was doing everything she could to keep him comfortable. "We're in the bedroom." she called softly, knowing their hearing would pick it up no matter how softly she talked.
Chloe didn't smell sex so she didn't bother covering her eyes as she made her way into the bedroom, following the sound of her sister's voice and the muffled words from Xander. "I would eat you," she agreed. "Perhaps bake you in a pie and feed you to the neighborhood children," she teased. Entering the room, she realized just how bad off Xander was and she frowned a little. She wanted to say he looked and smelled awful but she kept her mouth shut.
Dimitri took one look at his friend, could smell the sickness on him and made a decision. "Right. I'll keep an eye on him for the night." he said, knowing Charlie would feel much better about going home. He looked at Chloe with a smile and held up the keys for his truck. "Now, I'm trusting you with my truck. Not a dent, ya hear Freckles?"
"You're sleeping on the couch," came the muffled voice of Xander. "You like to cuddle way too much and I'm not in the mood," he teased. In all reality he was glad someone planned to stay with him as he didn't really want to be alone.
Charlie visibly relaxed when Dimitri said he would stay the night with Xander. She peeked under the pillow at him. She was glad he had it in him to tease. "I'd be jealous if you cuddled with Dimitri anyway. Then it'd come back to the whole bloody mess thing and Chloe channeling Mrs. Lovett." She gave him a gentle kiss in the forehead, though she still didn't pull away from him. She would stay the last possible second she could holding him.
Chloe just stared at the keys that Dimitri offered up for her. "Wait, what?" she breathed, blinking a little at him. He was going to trust her with his truck? Really? Well damn, if that wasn't love, she didn't know what was. "Are you sure?" she asked him, eyes flicking from the keys to Dimitri's face.
Dimitri smiled and put the keys in her hand. "I'm sure, baby." he said and gave her a kiss. "My only request is you make it home safe and sound so I can come over tomorrow and eat some food and love on you."
"I think I'm going to vomit," Xander said with a sigh, pulling his head out from under his pillow and resting his head back against it as he rolled onto his back. Eyes wandering over Dimitri and Chloe, he rolled them a little. "You guys are grossing me out with the cute," he teased, flashing a little smile regardless.
Charlie unwound herself from Xander and sat up, her fingers running through his slightly damp hair. She had gone for the bucket when he said he was going to vomit before realizing he meant it metaphorically. "It is pretty gross." she agreed, looking at him. "We're not that cutesy, are we?"
Chloe rolled her eyes at Xander and Charlie and took the keys that Dimitri offered, tucking them into her pocket. "I'll call you as soon as we get home," she promised. "And I won't break your baby either," she teased in reference to the truck.
Dimitri kissed her again. "You better not break yourself. I'd be very upset." he said with a smirk. She was way more important to him than his truck. He could always get another truck, but Chloe was irreplaceable.
Xander groaned at Dimitri's cheesiness. "Vomit," he reminded the guy. It was all in jest, of course and his tone likely conveyed that. Regardless he turned his attention to Charlie. "Nah," he assured her as he caught her cheek and leaned in to catch her lips in a little kiss. "You be safe too, yeah?" he murmured.
Charlie smiled against his lips. "Promise. You make sure you drink plenty of water." she told him softly before kissing him again. She really didn't want to go. She knew Dimitri would look after him, but not as well as she could. "Is it weird I'm going to miss you even though I'm going to see you tomorrow?"
Chloe smirked a little at the cuteness between her sister and Xander but didn't tease her about it. She was glad that she'd found someone, even if that someone did have a lot of problems. At least he was trying to turn himself around. She had to give the guy credit for that. Turning her attentions to Dimitri, she leaned in and gave him a hug. "Take care of him, okay?" she murmured. "And don't get murdered while you're out here."
Dimitri wrapped his arms around Chloe with a chuckle and kissed the top of her head. "I'll take care of him and I won't get murdered, promise. Now you two better go before you're late getting home and your father is the one doing the murdering." He kissed her again, not wanting her to leave but knowing she had to. "I love you." he whispered again her lips before forcing himself to pull away from her.
Xander caught that little declaration of love and arched a brow slightly but spoke not a word. Teasing was one thing when it was just about cutesy stuff, but love? Interesting. "I'll drink plenty of water and I'll miss you just as much," he promised her. "Go on, get out of here before I make you stay for the night," he smiled. Leaning in once more, he kissed her again. Damn things like curfews.
Charlie didn't want to leave her boyfriend anymore than her sister wanted to leave hers, but she knew they had to or face the wrath of daddy lion. She lingered in that last kiss with Xander before pulling away, getting out of the bed and jamming her sneakers on her feet. She grabbed her sister around the waist and began to physically drag her. "Come on, we're gonna be late."
Chloe pouted a little, clutching Dimitri's shirt long enough to get one more kiss. "Love you," she replied before giving into Charlie and letting herself be dragged out of the house. Charlie was right, Daddy wouldn't be happy if they were both late and getting grounded was not something Chloe intended to let happen. Pulling the keys to Dimitri's truck from her pocket, she practically fled from the house to the vehicle and jumped inside. Creepy house in the middle of the night and walking alone to the truck? Yeah, fuck that.
Dimitri watched Chloe go, letting out one of those longing sighs. He turned to Xander with a sheepish grin on his face. "Guess it's us for the night." he said as he listened, hearing Chloe run to the truck knowing why she did and laughing. "So, poker?"
