Who: Gabe and Naya
When: Thursday Evening
Where: Dead Until Dark
What: Clockwatching
Warnings: NSFW
Gabe had taken Dex for a long walk through the park, trying his best to focus on something other than Naya, the incredible night they’d had together. He couldn’t wait to see her again, and it was hard to not keep glancing at his watch, counting down the minutes.
By the time he’d started work, he’d already gone through almost an entire pack of cigarettes, counting off the time in cigarettes, in the minutes it took to light and smoke and stub out. He’d gone through the rest of the day in a bit of a daze, glad that the bar wasn’t too busy. It had filled up, time passing quicker in drinks orders and food served. By the time 8 o’clock rolled around, he was only looking at the clock every 10 minutes, instead of every five. He knew that his regulars had noticed - Johnny kept throwing him interesting looks - but he just hoped they hadn’t realised exactly why he was so antsy. The last thing that he wanted was the entire goddamn bar knowing his private business.
He wasn’t ashamed of Naya, but sharing things with his clientele didn’t come naturally to him. Making jokes, hearing about their lives, yes. But sharing his own...no. No one knew he had a daughter, or two brothers, or more than a few snippets about Gabe’s life. He planned on keeping it that way.
Naya had been in pretty much the same boat as Gabe. Clockwatching. The entire day. She'd had bodies to deal with, autopsies and tons of paperwork to keep her busy, but she found that she still had her mind on Gabe nearly the entire day. Hell, who was she kidding. It wasn't nearly the entire day, it was completely the entire day. Thankfully it had finally ended.
Unfortunately for her she still had to go to her place to do a few things before she could go to see Gabe. She contemplated just skipping that and heading to Gabe's in the first place, but she needed a shower and some clean clothes so she reluctantly headed to her own house. She had to use the downstairs bathroom thanks to the upstairs issues still being situated, but she at least got to have her shower and get dressed in a simple wrap dress. No, she was not trying to torment him.
Okay, yes she was. But that was besides the point.
Once she'd gotten dressed, she collected more clothes for work and sleep and then put on a little make up and fixed her hair and got into her car to head over to Gabe's bar. She decided to leave her things in the car until later. No point in carrying them with her just yet. She had teasing to do. Parking her car behind the bar, where his truck was, she walked around so that she could enter the front door, smile on her face.
Damn did he have to be so adorable behind the bar? He was distracted, doing something or other at one end of the bar - opposite to where she usually sat - so she didn't say anything and simply found her usual seat and waited for him to notice her.
Gabe laughed at the punchline of Johnny’s joke, even if he was pretty sure the craggy wolf had told it to him about fifteen times over the years. At least. Shaking his head, he turned away, glancing towards the clock above the door, hopefully. His gaze didn’t quite make it there, though, seeing the reason for his agitation sitting quite calmly at the end of the bar.
Fighting a losing battle against a wide, beaming smile, Gabe headed to the other end of the bar, snagging a clean glass and a bottle of Naya’s favorite rum on the way.
“Evenin’, baby girl,” he murmured, setting the glass down in front of her, slowly pouring the drink. His tongue flicked out over his lower lip, and his smile turned a little teasing. He was torturing them both now...but then, she’d sat down without saying hello, so he figured he was due a little payback.
The smile was worth it. Even if she wanted more than a smile. Her own lips curled upwards, parting to reveal her teeth as a grin slipped over her face. "Evening." she replied, her eyes on his lower lip as his tongue brushed over it. Oh he was evil. A horrible, evil man. He had better be glad that she was completely and utterly head over heels for the guy. She was tempted to be mean right back.
"Just one drink." she smiled. "See, my boyfriend is being a tease so I'm going to have to get myself a hotel room if he doesn't stop being mean to me and if I've got to drive then I can't be completely plastered."
Chuckling softly, Gabe set the bottle of bourbon down, gently sliding her glass towards her with two fingers pushing against the base.
“Aw, I’m sure he doesn’t mean to be mean,” he murmured. “I’m sure you’re teasin’ him just as badly, walking around in a dress like that...” He was finding it very difficult to keep his eyes on her face, the way she was leaning on the bar. At this angle, all he could think about was how much he wanted to bury his face in her cleavage.
“C’mere,” he added, reaching out to cup her cheek, leaning over the bar to kiss her, slow and deep, letting out a low, happy growl.
She was surprised by his public display of affection. Sure they could be alone in the bedroom doing all sorts of things like kissing, but the fact that he leaned across the bar, in front of everyone around them, and kissed her, told her just how much he really did care about her. He wasn't ashamed of showing his feelings for her in front of the patrons and that had her smiling into the kiss. A soft sound of approval escaped against his mouth. She'd been waiting for those kisses all day and they were well worth the wait.
Gabe nipped softly at her lower lip, pulling back and ducking his head in embarrassment as there was a wolf-whistle at the end of the bar.
“Thanks, Johnny,” he called out, not even bothering to look round. He grinned sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. “I uh, I hope you weren’t plannin’ on us being a secret, darlin’,” he murmured. “Pretty sure I just let the cat outta the bag.” He looked around, arching an eyebrow at Johnny, who was currently arguing happily with two of his other regulars, pulling a small book out of his jacket and pointing to it.
“Oh, you’ve gotta be kidding me,” he growled, humor fading a little. “Did you have a pool running on this?” By the looks of the money changing hands, and the wide grin on Johnny’s face, the answer was yes.
She couldn't help but laugh a little at the wolf-whistle. She shook her head a little and bit her lower lip. "No," she told him. "I didn't want us to be a secret and the fact that you don't either is all the more reason for me to be ecstatic," she admitted, the grin not leaving her face, even at the people down the way exchanging money.
She noticed the growl and the annoyance in his face, but she just reached across the bar to gently pat his hand. "Guess they're just smarter than the two of us," she said. "Even they knew we should be together," she murmured.
He couldn’t help but smile at that. It looked like the only two people in the entire world that didn’t know this was an inevitability were him and Naya. Clearly it had been on the cards for a while, judging by how many names and dates were in Johnny’s book.
“Well if that many people think we should be together,” he teased, turning his hand over on the bar, wrapping his fingers around hers. “I guess we can’t disappoint now, can we?” Grinning, he leant over the bar again, stealing another kiss.
“Did you eat yet, baby girl?” He asked, pressing one last, soft kiss against her lips before pulling back, attempting to be at least vaguely professional.
She grinned at his words. "Can't disappoint," she agreed. She had no intentions of doing anything to jeopardize her relationship with Gabe if she could help it. So long as he wanted her, she intended to be right there with him. She'd be a fool if she ever walked away from a man like him. He was nothing if not sunshine and sweetness and light. Not to mention the fact that he was gorgeous and obviously head over heels for her.
"Yeah, I ate," she assured him. "Grabbed something after work before I went home to get some things," she explained. She wished that the day was already over for him too so they could retreat to his apartment and she could hold onto him for a while. So close to him and yet so far away. "How was your day?" she asked.
“Long,” Gabe answered honestly. “And lonely.” He smiled at her, leaning on the bar to chat to her, though he did keep an eye out for anyone who might need to be served.
“I kept gettin’ distracted, thinking ‘bout this amazing girl I spent the night with,” his voice was a low whisper, low enough that even with were hearing, those further down the bar wouldn’t know what he was saying.
“I’m hopin’ she’ll stay a while.”
She flushed a little, her cheeks burning at his words. The memories of the night before were flooding through her head now, pictures of the two of them doing naughty things to one another that she could see anytime she closed her eyes.
"Sounds like this girl of yours is a pretty good catch," she commented as she lifted the drink he'd gotten for her. "You better hold on to this one," she winked, knowing well and good that he was speaking of her.
On a more serious note, however, she stopped playing pretend with him and smiled, a soft little upward curve of her lips. "I have every intention of staying as long as you'll let me," she told him. "I'd be a fool to walk away from a guy like you. Especially when I've been wanting you this long."
“Really?” He smiled back. “Think I could stand to hear more about that...” Unfortunately it’d have to wait - his name was being called by one of Johnny’s cronies, waggling an empty glass at him.
“Hold that thought, darlin’,” he murmured, grabbing another quick kiss before jogging down the bar to grab the empty glass, pouring another beer. There was a rowdy chorus of cheers, and a couple of high fives when Gabe got within teasing distance of the guys, and he returned the high fives, ducking his head to hide a grin. He hoped Naya didn’t take offence; he didn’t say anything to the guys, didn’t mention Naya at all. But it seemed like half the damn bar were invested in getting them together, and he certainly wasn’t going to complain if they congratulated him for finally getting his act together and asking her out.
Naya didn't take offense to his actions at the end of the bar. If anything it just made him look more and more adorable to the woman. She sipped at her drink and watched him as he got high fives and cheers and it made her happy to know that so many people had been rooting for the two of them. If only they hadn't have been so blind. Really though, perhaps that was the way it was supposed to be. She'd had time to get to know him, time to learn things about him and fall in love with him before she even had the opportunity to date him. Now that she was, it seemed to be so much more precious to her. So much more perfect in her eyes. She certainly wouldn't change a single thing about the way things had gone for them.
Especially after the night before.
That grin on his face, even though he ducked to hide it, had her grinning as she looked down at her glass. How could he make her all tingly with just a smile? Did other people feel these things too? No wonder everyone wanted to be in love.
Unless of course those high fives and cheers were because he'd spent the evening talking about bedding her and now he'd proven it was true. She shuddered at the thought of that and the smile on her face faded as she let her pointer finger slide over the rim of the glass she had. Surely he wasn't that sort of guy. He didn't strike her as the bragging type and really even if he was bragging, shouldn't that be a good thing? Shouldn't it be a good thing that she was good enough to brag about? She bit her lower lip as she pondered over that thought.
The fact that the guys at the end of the bar were laughing filthily didn't help and it made her blush and readjust her blouse a little. She felt awkward thinking that they were talking about her in less than clothed ways. Did she really want her private life aired for all to see and hear about? Did she want to be viewed as just the piece of ass he was getting until he was tired and moved on to the next one?
Sighing, she lifted her glass and drank the rest of the drink and contemplated just leaving but she couldn't do so without at least saying goodbye, right? Going up to his apartment would only fuel the fire of those talking about them.
Gabe shook his head, ignoring the catcalls and filthy laughter, refusing to say anything about how he and Naya had gotten together, other than that it was early days. He resented even sharing that much; Naya was precious to him, and so was their relationship, as early-on as things were.
He managed to get away from them at last, grabbing a glass of water for himself as he walked back over to her, leaning his forearms on the bar, hoping for another kiss. She didn’t seem as happy to see him this time, though, and he frowned a little.
“What’s wrong, baby girl?” His voice was a quiet murmur, hand reaching out to cover hers, his thumb brushing across the back of her hand.
"Nothing," she lied, forcing a little smile at him. "Guess I'm just tired," she added. That last bit wasn't really a lie because she was tired, but there was a lot more in her head now than there had been a few minutes before. She wasn't even sure how to bring up her concerns with him, not wanting to mess this thing up before they'd even gotten all that far into it. It was still its early stages and the last thing she wanted was to mess it up before it really got started.
Her eyes flicked down the bar towards the group of cat callers and she sighed a little, forcing her attentions back on Gabe. "Has it been busy tonight?" she asked.
Gabe frowned, not buying it for a minute. He saw the direction her eyes flicked in, closed his eyes for a second and mentally cursed Johnny and his cronies.
“I didn’t tell them anything, darlin’,” he murmured. “They can know we’re seein’ each other,” he squeezed her hand, “I got no plans to hide that. But what we do, just the two of us? Ain’t nobody needs to know.” He grinned, wryly. “‘cept that owl friend of yours. I’m guessin’ you already told her all about it.” He didn’t mind, not really. As long as she was complimentary, she could share with whomever she wanted. But Gabe wanted something that was his; just his. And Naya was his something.
She didn't think that he was lying, not with the way he was trying to reassure her that he hadn't been swapping stories with the guys about the notches in his bedpost. She smiled a little bit less fakely and let out a little sigh. "I'm sorry," she told him. "And you're right, I did tell Justice. I guess I really don't have a right to be upset if you told anyone anyway," she admitted, flushing a little as she let herself tuck her hair behind her ear. "Just haven't had the best of luck with guys telling people stories about me," she explained.
Gabe reached up, playing with the lock of hair she’d just tucked behind her ear, his fingers following the same path, a worried frown on his face.
“You’re gon’ tell me about them later,” he said, his tone brooking no argument. “And then I’m gonna make you forget all about those assholes.” He grumbled softly. “Idjits, wouldn’t know a good woman if she was dancing naked in front of ‘em.” Leaning close, he kissed her forehead.
“G’head and go upstairs if you’re tired, darlin’. Dex is already up there, he’ll keep you company til I finish.”
She smiled, even more genuinely this time and nodded a little. "Maybe a little sleep would do me good," she agreed. "But promise me that you'll wake me up when you come up?" she asked, figuring he'd do just that. Napping now would give her more time with him when he finished his shift.
Nodding, Gabe smiled, brushing his finger against the underside of her chin, a soft caress as he pulled back.
“I promise. Now get,” he murmured, teasing smile on his face. “Before that dress makes me forget I got a job to do down here.” She was torturing him, wearing something like that when he couldn’t take advantage of her.
Naya smiled at him again and reached into her purse to pay for the drink she'd gotten. "I'll see you when you come up," she told him as she laid the money on the counter. "Try not to miss me too much," she teased.
Gabe just rolled his eyes, picking up the money and handing it back to her.
“Don’t even think about it,” he murmured. “I’m not charging my girlfriend for one drink.” She wouldn’t get free drinks all the time, of course...but one measure? Yeah, that was just ridiculous. He watched as she headed towards the back door, and the stairs up to his apartment, laughing when Johnny pulled a couple of people back to give him an uninterrupted view of Naya’s ass as she stepped through the door. Shaking his head, he turned his attention back to the bar, stepping up to serve the next customer.
Heading through the staff only door, she went out the back door to her car and collected her things. Bag in hand, Naya went up the stairs and into Gabe's apartment, immediately being greeted by an eager dog who was quite happy to see her. Spending a few minutes saying hello to him, she gently scratched his ears and gave him plenty of attention for being gone so long in his eyes. If only people greeted other people that way, the world would be a better place.
Figuring the faster she got to bed, the faster she'd get to see Gabe at the end of his shift, she lightly tapped her thigh and smiled at Dex. "Come on, boy, let's go to bed." Heading through to the bedroom, she flicked on the light and sat her bag on the edge of the bed. She was going to change and then put her things away somewhere if she could find a place, but turning around she noticed an open drawer in the dresser with a note in Gabe's handwriting. Picking up the slip of paper, she read it and couldn't help but laugh.
Your stuff here. Followed by an arrow and a smiley face.
Yeah, it was over, she was absolutely in love with this adorable man. Putting her things away in the empty drawer, she got dressed for bed in a simple night gown and flicked off the lights before crawling between the sheets. Dex hopped up and settled at her feet and it didn't take long for the woman to fall asleep, surrounded by the scent of Gabe. It was almost like he was right there beside her and she knew well and good she would likely never be able to sleep without that smell to comfort her.
For Gabe, the rest of his shift dragged. He put up with the good-natured teasing from those who’d seen him and Naya being disgustingly cute at one another, in far too much of a good mood to care. He’d practically shoved customers out the door at 1am, and was upstairs, the bar door locked behind him, by 1.15am. He kicked off his shoes at the door, brushing his teeth and switching the lights off before stepping into the bedroom.
God, she looked gorgeous. He was almost reluctant to wake her. Almost. Stripping off his clothes, he managed to get Dex out of the room, carefully shutting the door behind him. He crawled onto the bed, kissing his way up her legs, hands sliding underneath her nightgown, pushing it up a little.
“Wake up, baby girl,” he murmured, kissing her stomach.
Naya stirred as he slid her nightgown upwards and let his lips press tenderly against the soft skin of her stomach. She smiled even before she opened her eyes, knowing well and good that it was Gabe being ridiculously adorable. "I'm awake," she whispered as her eyes fluttered open and moved over his face. "You're home," she breathed, obviously happy with that fact.
“Yep,” Gabe answered, grinning up at her. “I’m glad you noticed.” It was far too much fun to tease, even if she was adorably sleepy, hazy-eyed as she looked up at him. Moving up the bed, he leant down over her, kissing her slowly.
“Miss me?” He asked, lying down at her side, resting his head on one arm, playing with a stray lock of hair idly with his other hand.
"I did," she told him with a sleepy little smile and a tiny nod. Of course she'd missed him. If she was completely honest she'd been dreaming about him since she'd fallen asleep. Reality, at the moment, was far better than a dream. "Very much," she went on, letting her hand come up to cup his cheek as she leaned in to press her lips lightly against his.
“Mmmm, good,” he replied, smiling at her. “Been thinkin’ about this all day,” he admitted, pulling her against him, cock filling, pressing against her thigh. “Thinking about how good you sound when you come,” his voice was low, husky, as he kissed her. “How all I wanted to do this mornin’ was turn my truck around and not let you leave.”
She bit her lower lip at the feel of him against her thigh. His husky tone surely didn't help keep her from becoming just as aroused as he was. She loved when he spoke to her in the silence around them, his voice low and rumbling. "That much a fan of the noises I make?" she asked him, a tiny smirk sliding over her lips. "Truth be told I spent the whole day thinking about waking you up," she breathed. "I think you're pretty awake now though."
Gabe chuckled throatily, thrusting his hips forward against hers, nipping at her lower lip.
“Oh yeah,” he murmured. “Definitely awake.” Sliding his hand under her nightgown, he pushed it up, lifting up enough to pull it over her head and toss it onto the floor.
“Darlin’, why’d you even bother puttin’ that on?” He teased, grinning at her. “You knew I was just gonna take it straight off again.” Not that he minded, of course; she’d looked gorgeous in it. Even more gorgeous out of it, of course.
That got a bright grin from the woman as she let him help her out of the nightgown, leaving her in just a simple cotton bra and panties set. "Next time I'll be sure to just go to sleep naked," she murmured as she caught his lower lip between her teeth and gave the bit of skin a little tug. "Save you all the trouble."
Gabe growled approvingly, wrapping his arms tightly around her, pulling her close.
“You better,” he murmured against her lips. “No clothing in the bedroom rule, remember?” He grinned into the kiss, unfastening her bra, tugging the straps down over her shoulders. “So we’re gonna have to get rid of this...” he slid the bra out from between them, tossing it in vaguely the same direction as her nightgown. His hand moved down her side, caressing her curves, fingers slipping into the waistband of her panties. “And these definitely have to go.”
She certainly couldn't argue with that logic as he slipped her bra off and went for the panties. The way he touched her still completely amazed the woman. So gentle and so loving. It was simply amazing that someone could make her feel as perfect as he could. She smiled a little as she helped him get her out of her panties, lifting her hips a little and then her legs and once those had been tossed away, she pulled him back against her again. Her mouth sought out his for a soft kiss and she let out a little moan against his lips. "I don't think I've ever been close to someone who wants to see my body this much," she grinned. "Keep it up and my self-esteem is going to skyrocket."
Growling into the kiss, Gabe pressed her down into the sheets, covering her body with his.
“Good,” he murmured, sparing a moment to think ill of every man who’d ever made Naya feel like shit because of the way she looked. “You’re beautiful, darlin’. I dunno who’s been tellin’ you different, but they’re morons.” He growled louder, angry at the assholes who’d made her feel self-conscious, made her think she was anything less than perfect. He rocked against her, kissing her hungrily as he ground down against her.
She could have written several novels about all the negative things she'd been called or that had been done to her since she was born. She'd always been a little more curvy than the other girls on the reservation and though the girls could be rude and mean at school, it was the boys that really hurt her the most. Even the ones she didn't actually date said horrible things to her and though she tried to bury it somewhere deep inside of her, it was always there just waiting to be scratched enough to come up to the surface again. Little comments that she thought she'd long since forgotten could bubble up again and that pain would be there the same as it had at the time of the original rude words being spoken.
She didn't want to think too much on it now out of fear of the mood shifting. Instead she let herself focus on the man above her, the one who cared for her and thought she was beautiful. The one that had never uttered an unkind word to her so long as she'd knew him. "You're too good to me," she whispered against his mouth as she broke the kiss. "What'd I do to deserve a guy like you?"
“Oh, I don’t know, baby girl,” he murmured, grinning. “But I’m sure we can think of something.” He was determined to make her forget about all those guys, to make sure he was the only one she ever thought about. “Love your curves,” he breathed, running his hand over the curve of her breast, dancing down her side, “love knowing I’m not gonna break you’f I get carried away...” his grin turned wicked, and he moved slowly against her, cock hard and thick against her thigh.
Naya tugged her lower lip between her teeth as she listened to him speak and let herself get lost in the feel of his fingers brushing over her breast and down her side. "You won't break me," she assured him. "Besides, I kinda like it rough." Okay, so maybe she was teasing him a little to get a rise out of the man, but she couldn't help but be curious about the reaction to that statement that he might have.
Saying something like that to a guy when he was already all fired up just wasn’t fair. Gabe moaned brokenly, a slow shiver rolling down his spine as he moved against her. “Damn, darlin’, you’re tryin’ to kill me...” he breathed, leaning down to kiss her fiercely. His eyes darkened, bear rising inside him, the thought of just letting go, of taking her, impossible to resist.
She shook her head a very tiny bit in response and when the kiss broke again, she smiled up at him. "Not trying to kill you," she assured him. "But maybe rile you up a bit?" she murmured, gently tugging at his lower lip as her eyes met his. "I'm yours, baby," she whispered against his mouth, breaking the kisses only to breathe out a few more words. "You can do whatever you want to me."
Gabe reached across to the nightstand, grabbing a condom and leaving it within easy reach.
“You’re gonna regret sayin’ that,” he murmured huskily, ducking his head to mouth at her throat, biting down gently. His hand slid between her thighs, rubbing gently at her folds, one broad finger slipping inside her, stroking, teasing at her.
“Y’don’t need to do anything to rile me up, pretty lady,” he breathed, slipping a little lower, kissing her throat, the soft dip between her collarbones. “Just seein’ you lying there’s got me going.” Giving in to the urge he’d had since she’d walked into the bar in that dress, Gabe nuzzled between her breasts, stubble scraping soft skin.
Naya gasped lightly as his finger slipped inside of her. Her body arched up off of the bed, aching to have that single digit disappear further inside of her. "Tell me about it," she whispered. "Tell me what you want to do to me," she breathed out, her fingers slipping into his hair with a soft little groan of approval as her muscles clenched deliberately around his finger.
“See, now,” Gabe said, teasing her with that one finger, another gently pressing at her entrance, almost but not quite slipping inside. “That’s gon’ take a while. Cuz there’s a lot of things I wanna do to you.” His grin was filthy, but the truth was, Gabe had spent a lot of the day thinking about all the stupid little romantic, domestic things he wanted to do with Naya. He was getting on in years, and he’d never believed in wasting time. Hell, if he’d thought she’d say yes, he’d have asked her to move in with him. Asked her a lot of things it was probably way too early to be talking about.
“Right now?” He murmured, voice a low growl as he kissed a path back up to her mouth, claiming her lips with his. “I wanna hear you come, darlin’. Wanna hear you screamin’ my name as I fuck you.” His words were a husky rumble, voice thick with want.
His voice did things to her that no other man had been able to do with his voice combined with every other quality a man might possess. Gabe could turn her on with a glance or a touch and the sound of his voice was ridiculously sexy and hoarse and husky and she wanted nothing more than to have him fucking her like he so wonderfully whispered. She gasped at his words, nodding a little as she bit her lower lip. "Oh I'll scream your name," she whispered, rocking her hips in a gentle rhythm against his fingers. "And anything else you want me to say, just please, god stop teasing me and fuck me right now."
Gabe groaned, her pleas too much, too good to resist. Grabbing the condom, he pulled his hand away from her long enough to tear open the packet, roll on the condom. Even though it was only moments, it still felt like an eternity before he was kneeling between her thighs, kissing her slowly as he pushed into her. He moaned again as he came to rest inside her, shuddering for a moment before he began to move.
“Damn, darlin’, I don’t know what you’re doing to me,” he groaned, “but it’s never been like this before...” He nipped and sucked at her lower lip, thrusting into her hard, quiet snarl caught in his throat. She made him feel like his skin was on fire, like he just couldn’t get enough of her.
That surprised her a little and it was probably quite clear in her expression that she wasn't sure how to take those words. "Really?" she managed to whisper out, her voice a breaking sort of sound mixed with a whimper of approval at the feel of him filling her up all over again. "Never?" How could it be possible that a girl like her surpassed all the pretty girls he'd likely bedded before her? Even the mother of his child for that matter, someone she was sure must be beautiful and probably thin and lovely and nothing like her.
Gabe shook his head a little, thrusting into her again, just to hear that whimper.
“You’re one of a kind, baby girl,” he breathed, kissing her fast and hard, threading his fingers through her hair so that he could tug her hair back, hold her steady as he fucked her. He wasn’t holding back, hips starting to pick up the pace, slamming into her. Gabe loved this, loved how wild she made him feel. His bear was just as happy with the situation, trying to force him to go faster, harder.
He got the whimper, and then a few more after that. The hair tugging only added to her pleasure, heightening her senses. The faster and more firm his pace became, the louder the noises she made grew. She liked that he wasn't being gentle with her and wasn't treating her like she was made of glass. "Oh, Gabe, yes!" she cried, her hips trying their damnedest to keep up with his thrusts. "Just like that, baby. Take that pussy."
Gabe was really enjoying the noises. The dirty talk...not so much. He couldn’t help the soft gigle that escaped him, that rapidly turned into a chuckle as he hid his face against her neck, his hips losing the rhythm and stopping altogether as he wheezed with laughter.
“I’m sorry, darlin’,” he gasped. “I jus’...I’ve never got dirty talk. It always sounds like somethin’ out a bad porno.” He put on a fake, girlish, exaggerated voice. “Oooh, yeahhhhh, take that pussy....”, and then promptly started laughing again.
She wanted to be upset at him for laughing at her, but she just couldn't. She ended up laughing and shaking her head. "That so didn't work as well as I'd hoped," she admitted amidst another giggle. "You could have humored me, you jerk," she teased, grinning at him and catching his lips in a little kiss. "Here I am trying to make you as hot and bothered as you make me and you laugh at me. I should be appalled." Laughing again, she shook her head and then let it fall back against the pillows. "No dirty talk, check."
Gabe tried to look apologetic, but he was still chuckling softly, so the effect was ruined just a little. He kissed her softly, brushing her hair back from her face.
“I’m sorry,” he said again, muttered against her lips as he kissed her, again and again. “I’m a bad, rude man.” He smiled, shifting against her, slowly thrusting into her. “Lemme make it up to you.” His smile turned wicked, tempting, as he began to fuck her slowly, grinding his hips in a slow circle, burying himself to the hilt within her. He kissed her slowly, filthily, both hands buried in her hair.
She shook her head a little and nipped at his lower lip. "No sorries," she whispered. "I like that I can laugh with you, even in bed." It was just one more thing that she loved about their growing relationship. She gasped as he started to move again. "Oh yeah," she whispered. "That definitely makes up for it." The things that man could do with his body, grinding against her in just the perfect way, hitting spots inside of her she wasn't even aware existed. "You can pull it," she whispered against his mouth. "Do I need to roll over to give you a better grip?" she smirked.
Growling, Gabe tightened his grip on her hair, ducking his head to mouth at her jaw, teeth scraping against her skin for a moment. “And spoil my view?” He murmured, grinning. “Nah, I’m enjoyin’ lookin’ at your beautiful face way too much, darlin’.” He reached down, hand smoothing over her thigh, hooking round the back of her knee, encouraging her to wrap her legs around his waist.
“You might wanna hold on, though.” Grinning, he sat up, pulling her with him, his fingers still in her hair. Kneeling in the center of the bed, Naya in his lap, Gabe slowly flexed his hips, pushing upwards.
Her legs did as directed, wrapping around him and hooking at the ankles. Her arms slipped around his neck and she growled out as he sank deeper inside of her with the new angle. It was something almost akin to a yelp of absolute pleasure and it took a moment to get her brain back to functioning capabilities. "Gabe," she whispered breathlessly, her fingers sinking into his hair and tugging at the strands. "God, you feel s'good." Perhaps that was better than dirty talk. Everyone liked praise.
Praise was definitely good. Gabe was a typical man; any sort of praise was going to go down well.
“So do you, baby girl,” Gabe breathed, kissing her throat, arching his hips up as he pushed into her, a little less gently. He didn’t want to hold back; didn’t need to. Growling softly, he nipped at her shoulder, biting down a little harder. She felt incredible around him, and the scent of her arousal wasn’t doing any good for his stamina.
She groaned and let her lips find his neck, sliding them slowly to his earlobe. "You might not care for dirty talk," she whispered. "But you should know that you have the most amazing cock." Again, praise. And he should know that she thought he was amazing, every inch of him.
Groaning, Gabe shuddered softly as her lips brushed his neck, tilting his head to the side with a soft sound of pleasure.
“Thank you, darlin’,” he answered, not really sure what else to say. He smiled against her throat, kissing and nipping at warm skin, burying himself in the scent of her. His hips moved faster, harder, lifting her almost out of his lap as he moved. She felt too damned good to take it slow, and the sounds that he was making probably made that obvious, growls and moans falling from his lips.
She grinned at his response, amused that he seemed unsure of how to take the comment. Her lips fell away from his ear and slid down his neck to his shoulder and parted, teeth grazing his skin. The sounds, the smells, the way he felt, all senses working together to drive her completely insane. She nipped at his skin, gently at first and then a bit harder, a little growl of her own muffled against his shoulder.
Gabe growled approvingly as she bit at his shoulder, his hips snapping up, shoving his cock harder into her in response.
“Dig in, darlin’,” he murmured throatily. Her teeth against his skin was turning him on far more than it had any right to. He wasn’t complaining, though, not when it felt this good. Not when she felt this good. There was no way he was giving this up, not ever.
Once given the permission, Naya slid her lips towards his neck and bit him harder, nearly enough to draw blood but not quite. She hadn't broken the skin, but she'd certainly left a mark at least. She groaned as he thrust harder against her, shoving himself inside of her over and over again. She was nothing more than whimpers and cries, muffled by her hold on his throat with her teeth.
He loved the way she sounded, the cries he could wring from her. He’d been on edge all day thinking about this, thinking about her, and he knew he wasn’t going to last much longer. He slid his hands up her back, curling his fingers over her shoulders, slamming her down onto his cock as he thrust up, pushing deeper, harder. He groaned her name, a broken, half-unintelligible sound as he he shuddered, eyes sliding closed as he came.
The moment his fingers curled around her shoulders and he thrust into her almost like he wanted to break her, she spiraled completely out of control, a gasp on her lips and then a cry. Her muscles tightened around him, clenching desperately to his cock as if to hold him inside of her. The sounds he made didn't help her hold on any longer and the second he shuddered, she cried out again, his name broken as it slipped from her lips in the form of a half scream, half roar. Good god. Sex was not supposed to be this delicious. Well, it hadn't been for her until she'd met Gabe.
Gabe flopped backwards, letting her slump over him as he gasped for breath, looking utterly wiped out, if very pleased with himself.
“Goddamn, woman,” he murmured, voice raspy. “Gon’ kill me.” More words than that really weren’t happening right now. Mostly because he was trying to remember how his mouth worked. He wrapped his arms tightly around her, stroking her back slowly, wincing as he slowly straightened his legs from where they’d been folded underneath him.
"I think it might be you that kills me," she whispered, shifting only enough to let him straighten his legs. Her own legs remained at his sides and she lifted her hands to push his hair away from his face. "I love you," she told him, eyes trained on his as she spoke. "And not just because you're magnificent in bed, which you are, but because in the last two days you've made me happier than I think I've been in my entire life," she admitted.
Gabe smiled wide at that soft admission, though the rest of what she said caused the smile to slip, just a little.
“Naya,” he murmured softly. “I’m glad I make you happy - feelin’s mutual there.” He brushed his fingers down her cheek. “I love you, too.” It wasn’t scary to say, not to Naya. Not after there’d been months of them pining after one another without even noticing.
“But the thought that this is happier than you’ve ever been just breaks my heart, darlin’.”
While the smile that came over his face and the soft whispered response of those perfect little words made her grin, she couldn't seem to hold it very long. She bit her lower lip at the rest of his words and let out a little sigh as she reluctantly slipped off of him. She gave him a minute to get rid of the condom and then curled in against him, her head against his chest. "I haven't had the best life," she admitted, a tiny shrug of her shoulders following the words. "But you've already made up for a lot of the things I've been through," she assured him. "So it shouldn't break your heart that you're the most amazing person I think I've ever met."
Gabe curled his arms around her, tugging the covers up, letting them both get settled properly before he spoke.
“Well, hey, no disagreement here about me bein’ amazing,” he teased, trying to get her to smile a little. “I just want you happy, baby girl. That’s all.” If he ever knowingly ran into one of her exes, he’d be sure to introduce the guy’s face to the pavement. Repeatedly. “And if it’s me that makes you happy...well, I guess I’ll just have to stick around.” He kissed her forehead, his hand stroking slowly up and down her arm.
She smiled at him, tilting her head up a little bit more so she could look at him. "I try to have a thick skin about things, but I guess I never really realized just how much little things have gotten to me over the years," she admitted with a little sigh. "And it's just so... completely different to feel like this with someone and to wonder why I've let myself feel so badly for so long and not even realized it."
Stroking her arm still, Gabe kissed her forehead again, then shifted to kiss her on the lips.
“Because it was the only thing you knew?” He suggested softly. “Just like me. I didn’t wanna make a move because I’ve forgotten how to talk to a woman without a bar and a drinks order in between us. Spent so long laughin’ off women flirting with me, I didn’t even notice that you were doin’ it.” He sighed, drawing her closer, relishing the warmth of her body against his.
“We’re creatures of habit. S’easy to make one, hard to break it.” Take him - he was itching to reach for a cigarette, but he knew she didn’t like them, so he was trying to resist.
She nodded a little, letting out a soft sigh. "I just didn't realize that after a while I started buying into it all. Believing things that were said and holding them to be true." She tried her best to be big and beautiful and for the most part she succeeded and laughed off jokes, but no matter how much she did well to blow off rudeness, in the end it still hurt. "Guess you're going to have to knock some sense into me," she teased.
“How about I kiss some sense into you, instead?” He replied, grinning cheekily. Ok, it was a massively cheesy line, but he couldn’t help it. He tilted her chin up, kissing her slowly and sweetly, nibbling on her lower lip. He didn’t think he could ever get tired of kissing her.
“Did you find the drawer?” He asked, after a minute. It wasn’t sticking out anymore, so he was guessing the answer was yes. He hadn’t wanted her to feel awkward about it, but if having space meant she stayed over more often, he was all for that.
"I like that plan," she told him, taking advantage of the closeness of their mouths for one more kiss.
When he questioned her about the drawer, she grinned brightly. The negative thoughts slipping away immediately at the remembrance of that cute little gesture. "I did," she told him with a little nod. "And that's just one more thing to add to your amazingness," she went on. "Absolutely adorable and I'm keeping the note because it was cute too." It was, and written by him and smelling like him and now it was hers, so there.
“Aw, shucks,” he murmured, grinning his most adorable grin. He kissed her again, still smiling.
“I’m glad it came off as adorable, and not creepy and pressuring,” he admitted softly. “Was kinda worried I might scare you off.” Still was, if he was being honest. He was just waiting for her to wake up and realise she could do so much better. “I just wanted to make sure you knew you had a place here.”
Naya shook her head as she lifted it up a little and moved her arm to prop herself up on her elbow. "You're not going to scare me off," she assured him. "Honestly if I wasn't afraid that it would be overstepping my welcome or be confusing for your daughter, I might never want to leave," she admitted, flushing a little at her own words. "I know that it's difficult to be away from you, it was before we were together, but now even more so."
“So don’t be away from me,” Gabe blurted out, almost before he’d had a chance to think about it. He took hold of the hand that wasn’t supporting her head, placing it on his chest, a little to the left of center.
“You’re already in here, darlin’. No way I’m shiftin’ you out.” he murmured softly. “If you don’t mind livin’ here, with just me and the dumb mutt outside for company, I’m not gonna complain.” He smiled, looking up at her with soft eyes. “I might think you’re crazy for putting up with me, but definitely no complaining.”
She blinked a little at his words, tilting her head ever so slightly as if she wasn't sure she'd heard what she thought she heard. "Did you just ask me to move in with you?" she asked him, not unhappy about the thought, but surprised. He liked her enough to share living quarters with her for more than just a day or two? It was mind boggling to the brunette and she was honestly awestruck at the thought. Sure she had a nice house - save for the plumbing issues as of late - but she would have let that house sit empty for the rest of eternity if given the chance to trade it for close quarters with Gabe.
Gabe nodded slowly. “Yep,” he answered solemnly, trying not to panic at her obvious shock. It was fine. She loved him, she’d said. She wasn’t going to freak out.
“You don’t have to,” he murmured. “I’m not gonna be offended if you say no. But I’m no rush to get rid of you, darlin’. You wanna stay here every night, that’s more’n fine with me.” It made more sense, in a way - he always finished work so late, there was no point in trying to get in his truck and drive anywhere. He’d be a danger to other drivers, and no good to her when he arrived at her house.
"Okay," she told him simply. In her mind there was no other explanation needed and no other answer to be given. Justice might think she was crazy for hopping into bed and then into living together so quickly, but she'd known Gabe for months. She knew he wasn't a serial killer, she knew that she loved him and he loved her, and he wanted her to be there. What was the negative side in all of it? She was barely home most of the time anyway because she spent a great deal of her time either working, being on call, or spending her nights at the bar looking longingly at Gabe. At least this way she might get some more sleep knowing that he'd be coming up to bed with her after the bar closed for the night.
"If you're sure," she added after a moment. "I just... I don't want to confuse Abbie and I don't want to make things complicated for you with her mother and... I just... I want to be here, with you." And that was about as simple as she could put the words that were rolling through her head.
Scoffing, Gabe shook his head. “Abbie’ll understand. Munchkin’s been asking when I’m going to get a new partner like Mommy has for years.” He arched an eyebrow. “And I could care less what Paula thinks. She’s had three guys she’s told my daughter to call ‘Daddy’ since she was born. She ain’t got no right to tell me how to live my life.” It wasn’t the fact that she’d had a few boyfriends that bothered Gabe - it was the fact that Abbie had quite calmly told him that he was ‘her favorite daddy’. Out of four guys she was apparently told to call ‘dad’ by her harpy of a mother.
Naya looked appalled at that revelation. "Oh, what a horrid shrew," she commented of the woman who'd mothered his daughter. "The first rule of parenting, one that I know even not being a parent myself, is that the child shouldn't ever be placed in the middle of such things and certainly shouldn't be told to call anyone 'Daddy' that isn't her actual father. Unless of course the father didn't step up to the plate, but you obviously have. What right does she have to tell your daughter to call any other man 'daddy'?" she asked. "How would she like it if you had Abbie calling me 'mommy'? That's absurd." She realized she'd went off on a tangent and she bit her lip and flushed. "I'm sorry, I don't even know where that came from," she admitted with a nervous little laugh.
Gabe kissed Naya, partly to soothe her and partly to cut off the nervous babbling. It was sweet that she was so concerned...and it was just another example of why he’d fallen for her, before they’d even kissed.
“It’s ok,” he murmured. “She’s an evil bitchfiend from hell. But as long as I don’t say that in front of Abbie, I can sleep at night.” He grinned. He didn’t care who knew how he felt about his ex, just as long as Abbie never heard it. That was one thing he’d never do; badmouth Paula in front of her, much as he was sure she didn’t have any such qualms.
"I didn't know I could dislike a person this much before meeting them," she commented with a little sigh and a shake of her head. "What made you fall for this 'bitchfiend' in the first place?" she teased.
Sighing, Gabe shrugged. “I don’t know.” He paused, then continued. “Well, no, I do know. She spun me a sob story about how her marriage was fallin’ apart, and how lonely she was. And I fell for it.” He shrugged again. “Started off as just a friendly shoulder to cry on, but then we both got real drunk and...yeah. Not my proudest moment, bein’ ‘the other man’.” His voice was quiet, and he wasn’t quite looking her in the eye. Worried that she’d judge him, that she wouldn’t want to be with someone who’d been an accessory to adultery.
She frowned a little, but more that a woman could spin a web to trap a man like that. At least he didn't feel proud of being the other man and it wasn't like that marriage had lasted regardless. She caught his chin and nudged his face up enough that she could look him in the eye. "One more reason I know this is real," she murmured as she caught his lips in a soft kiss. "Is that we aren't drunk and haven't been. Mistakes happen," she whispered. "And if anything, it wasn't a mistake because you got Abbie out of the deal. Shrew or not, you likely lucked out."
Gabe sighed with relief, kissing her back just as softly, just as sweetly.
“Yeah, that’s the only reason I don’t regret what happened with her,” he murmured. “Because Abbie’s perfect. I couldn’t wish for a better kid.” He couldn’t wait for Naya to meet her; Abbie could charm the pants off the most kid-phobic of people, and he was sure they’d get on. Reaching up, he brushed Naya’s hair back, tucking it behind her ear.
“Time for bed, darlin’,” he murmured. “You gotta get up in the mornin’.” He was glad he didn’t; he was still tired from having not slept as long as usual that morning, and he had a feeling he was going to end up awake again before she left tomorrow.
She smiled at him and nodded a little as she curled up against him again. "I'll wake you to say goodbye," she told him. "But I've got my car so you don't have to roll out of bed, you grumpy old bear," she teased. She knew he'd gotten up far too early that morning and wasn't about to make him do it all over again.
Gabe pouted at her, then chuckled. “Fine,” he murmured. “Least you’re not under any false impressions ‘bout me first thing in the mornin’.” He wasn’t a morning person, even in summertime. In wintertime...most days he had to force himself out of bed, and nine times out of ten it was only because Dex was whining pitifully and clearly needed to go out. Which reminded him...
“Damn, I have to go let Dex back in...” Sighing, he climbed out of bed, opening the door. Dex was lying down outside, looking utterly pathetic and woeful. “C’mon, ya big lunk,” he muttered, gesturing towards the bed. Dex trotted in, tail wagging happily, and leapt up on the bed beside Naya, lying down in the warm spot left by Gabe’s body.
Sighing, Gabe crawled back into bed, managing to poke and prod at Dex’s side until he moved down to the end of the bed.
"I'm not a morning person either," she admitted. "If I had my way, I'd sleep the day away." But she had a job that just couldn't allow her to do that. "Maybe I should work at the bar instead," she teased as she curled up against Gabe once more when he'd settled again. "I'll take him out in the morning," she told him, pressing a soft kiss to his chest. "Let you stay all toasty instead of having to do something horrible like put on pants."
Gabe groaned. “Where’f you been all my life?” He joked, grinning. “Because you’re my perfect woman, talkin’ like that.” Naya not liking mornings wasn’t a surprise, especially in winter when their bears would rather be hibernating. But volunteering to take Dex out, and let him sleep in? Yeah, that was above and beyond expectations.
He combed his fingers through her hair, smiling softly as he kissed the top of her head, reaching to turn out the light.
“Night, darlin’,” he murmured, holding her close.
"Right under your nose," she teased. "At the end of the bar with a drink in my hand trying to make my cleavage the most presentable." She chuckled and curled in a bit tighter to him. "Night, Gabe," she murmured. "Sleep sweet."
