Two beds and a coffee machine
Who: Arabella and Kris
What: Cuteness
When: Friday, late afternoon
Where: Kris's hotel room
Warnings: A smidgen NSFW
Kris had ordered lunch in, having not wanted to leave her side. Just one more thing that endeared the man to her. He was so sweet and gentle and concerned for her wellbeing that Arabella found it quite difficult to worry about anything when he was there with her. They'd spent the afternoon just getting to know one another and then he'd read to her from the book he had and that was adorable in and of itself. No guy had ever read to her before. Or spent that much time just worrying over her. She'd fallen asleep sometime after that, a headache making it difficult to do much else. When she woke up, she didn't open her eyes, but instead reached out to feel for Kris.
Kris didn't think he had had such a wonderful day in a long time. It didn't matter that it was in a hotel room all day because he was with Arabella. The enjoyed lunch, TV, some reading, and sleep. He would be content to stay in their little bubble like this forever. She had dozed off and Kris had found he had done the same. He didn't feel her stir, but the moment she reached for him, he reached back. He was still mostly asleep, but his hand slid into hers, lacing their fingers and he pulled her tight against him, rumbling a bit.
Arabella smiled even before she opened her eyes. She leaned into his touch, burying her face in the crook of his neck just beneath his ear. "Someone's a sleepy puppy." she whispered softly against his skin, letting out a gentle sigh after the words before finally opening her eyes to look at him. "Morning. Or Afternoon rather." she said, a tiny laugh escaping her. "I swear I'm going to sleep the day away thanks to you being all warm."
He let out a yawn before opening his eyes, a smile on his lips. He looked down at her, his fingers coming up to gently brush her cheek. Her bruises were colorful, but the swelling had gone down. Even as she was, she was beautiful. "I'm sorry. I'll try to be less warm?" he said with a chuckle, brushing back her hair. "It's not a bad way to spend an afternoon, though."
She shook her head a little. "I like you warm." she assured him. "Though I think I'm going to get used to sleeping beside you and won't be able to sleep without you." she added. Which would be bad whenever she had to go home. Not that she wanted to think about going home right now.
"Then I guess I'll have no choice but to always sleep beside you." he said with a mock sigh. "It'll be difficult for me, curled up with someone so lovely, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make." He smiled down at her, his eyes dancing. It had been a long time since Kris had teased and played. She reminded him of better times and it made him happy to be around her.
"If I didn't know better, I'd say you were trying to butter me up, Mr. Malark." she murmured, a grin sliding over her lips and her dimples coming into view. "All this talk about me being so lovely and all. I might start to believe it." Which would have been a feat. While she knew she wasn't ugly by any means, lovely wasn't something she really thought of herself as. Dan had wiped away the majority of her confidence in all things, especially herself.
He leaned down to kiss her forehead. "I promise you, Lovely Lady Arabella, I have never seen anything on this Earth quite like you." He realized he was spouting like a poet and turned bright red. "Um so...Are you hungry?"
The term of endearment made her grin. The only thing that Dan had ever called her was 'Airy' which usually turned into 'airhead' and those weren't really terms of endearment as far as she was concerned. She shook her head a little. "Not terribly." she murmured. "I could eat though. Are you hungry?" she asked him.
He shook his head as he glanced at the clock. "Not quite dinner." he said as he finally began to sit up, taking her with him and giving a great big stretch, shaking his head like a dog would."But of course, your wish is my command."
"Really?" she questioned. "Then lay back down. On your tummy." she directed, shifting so he could do just that. She had a plan, partially in repayment of all he'd done for her.
His eyebrows went up at that, but his mama always taught him to do as a lady told him to. "Yes, my lady." he said with a quirky grin and moved as she wished. "Is this the part where you put a saddle on me?" he asked. When he had read to her, he had chosen one of his few fantasy novels. It was about a princess who defied the role of her station and took up arms to defend her home. He was reminded of Arabella, a strong woman, which was why he chose it.
She chuckled and indeed did move to straddle his waist, but it wasn't to ride him. Instead she let her fingers slide over the fabric of his tank top, a form fitting little thing that showed every flicker of muscle he had in his body. When her hands reached his shoulders, she began to massage him. He was tense and she worked at the knots in his shoulders and near his neck, listening to the quiet sound of his breathing. "You're tense." she breathed out.
Kris was certainly tense the moment she climbed onto him. He had no idea what she was about to do at first and stayed still. It wasn't until her fingers started kneading his shoulders did he realize what she was doing. A smile came to his lips. He couldn't help it. Her hands felt amazing on his back and he began to relax almost immediately. "A bit...thank you..." he all but groaned out, letting his eyes close as she worked her magic.
"A bit?" she scoffed. "You're practically knotted up from one end to the other." she murmured. As she moved her hands over his shoulders and neck, she could feel the knots loosening and disappearing. She, however, wasn't satisfied that she'd massaged enough just yet and let her fingers travel to the hem of his tank top, urging it upwards and exposing more of his skin to her. She wanted the shirt off, but for now she just bunched it up near his armpits and let her fingers move against his bare back. How someone's back could be that attractive was beyond Arabella.
"Sorry, my lady. Riding a motorcycle all over the country can do that to a man." And have over a decade of sexual tension. The more her hands went over his skin, the more a certain part of his anatomy responded. He was discrete, shifting only once so it wasn't bent in half. He did chuckle when she shoved up his shirt and figured he may as well get rid of it, which he did, tossing it to the side. "Better?"
"Much." she murmured. She noticed his shift, but figured it was only to get more comfortable and thought nothing more of it. "So you have a motorcycle?" she asked. She'd ridden in a taxi with him to the hotel so his means of transportation hadn't ever come up. "That's kind of sexy." she murmured.
Hearing her murmur his having a bike was sexy made his eyes turn amber and his teeth lengthen a bit, which he did his best to keep hidden. "I'll take you for a ride sometime." he said, his voice a touch growly. Really, a beautiful woman straddling his ass and rubbing his back. Any male would be doomed.
"I've never been on a motorcycle before." she told him. "But I wouldn't mind taking a ride with you." That growly way he spoke was sexy too, but she managed to keep that opinion to herself. "Any other sexy details I've yet to learn about you?" she teased, working at a bit of tension riddled muscle in his lower back.
She was going to kill him. He was convinced. "Wouldn't be any fun if I told you all my secrets." he said, turning his head so he could see her, eyes smoldering wolf amber. "Stick around long enough though, and you can learn as much as you like."
Him looking back at her with his eyes the way they were, that hungry color that she'd seen often in the last day, had her breath catching in her throat and her hands becoming still against his back. "The more I'm with you, the more you make me want to stick around." she admitted, biting her lower lip as she looked down at her hands on his back briefly. Drawing in a breath, she glanced up at him again, eyes catching his. "You really want me to stick around?" she questioned. "I still just don't understand why? Because you want to protect me?"
"You ask very hard questions sometimes." he said and turned a bit, taking her waist and picking her up so he could sit and face her, placing her in his lap. "I don't want you to leave. Brother Wolf...my wolf doesn't want you to leave either. I want to protect you, I want to see you safe, I want to see you smile and laugh and a million other things." he said, his voice a little hoarse. "And I have no idea what to do about any of it....All I know if right now, I need to keep you close."
She was confused, but it seemed that he was just as confused as she was. "It's just... I don't know how to explain all the things going through my head." she told him. "I've spent a year and a half of my life with Dan and even when things were good, they weren't actually good and then you show up and my whole life just feels confusing and complicated." she said, dragging her fingers through her hair with a sigh. "How can someone show up and make a year and a half feel like it should have never happened?" she questioned though her voice was barely even audible. In a day he'd made her feel like Dan was someone that shouldn't have ever crossed her path, let alone become so permanent in it for the last year and a half.
Kris gently drew her to his chest, running his fingers through his hair. "I don't know, sweetheart." he said softly. "All I know is, regardless of anything in the past, all I see is you..." He pressed his lips to her forehead and knew then Brother Wolf had chosen. It was this woman or none at all. "We'll figure it out...It doesn't have to be today." he murmured as much to himself as he did her.
She nodded a little. "Please don't make me go back there." she whispered as she leaned into him. "I'll find somewhere to stay because I can't keep overstepping boundaries and taking up space here with you, but please don't make me go back to him." she breathed, practically shaking like a leaf at the mere thought of it. She didn't want to take advantage of or use Kris for anything, least of all a place to stay.
"You never have to go back to him, ever." he said with a slight growl. Mine. "And you can stay with me here, when I have my home, until my very death." It didn't matter if she ever became his mate or not, but Kris would never leave her. He couldn't.
"But what if he comes looking for me?" she asked, curling even more so into Kris. She wasn't sure if she'd ever feel completely safe, but Kris definitely made her feel at least protected against intruders. Especially if even the thought of Dan made him all growly and protective.
Oh it certainly did. "It would be the biggest and last mistake of his life." he snarled and held her tighter against him. "You, my dear Lady Arabella, are part of my pack and I will defend you forever."
She believed him, the snarl doing well to cement his point. "You make me sound like a princess." she murmured softly against his chest. The way he said her name made her feel like the most important woman in the world. Perhaps to him, she was. Wrapping her arms tightly around his body, she gave him a little squeeze before turning her head upwards enough to look at him. "Thank you, again." she murmured. "I don't know what I'd be doing if it wasn't for you." Honestly, if he hadn't shown up, she may not have made it out of the situation alive.
This woman had gotten under her skin so fast it was insane. Kris never did things lightly. He had mourned over a decade and it seemed Arabella had finally showed him how to heal. "Luckily you never have to worry because I'll always be here." he said softly and kissed her forehead.
Arabella smiled at the kiss to her forehead and closed her eyes. "You give me goosebumps when you do that." she murmured softly before letting her eyelids flutter open again. Goosebumps from just a little kiss to her forehead. She found herself imagining what sort of effect he'd have on her if he actually kissed her.
He chuckled and went back to stroking her hair. "Would you like to go out tonight?" he asked, unsure if she wanted to face the world with bruises on her face. He wanted to do something nice for her. His wolf wanted to kill the biggest stag he could hunt and lay it at her feet, but Kris was going to try to do the human version of that seeing as he didn't want to frighten Arabella.
She wasn't sure how much she wanted to go out with bruises on her face, but she figured she could at least cover up a little bit with make-up and what not so she nodded a little. "Okay." she agreed. "Where do you want to go?"
"Well, it's not fancy." he said. "There's this steakhouse, totally out of the way I found." It was run by some weretigers so it had odder meal choices. "It's run from some weretigers so we'll be more than welcome."
She didn't mind if it wasn't fancy. In fact she quite liked that it wasn't. She didn't need something fancy, she just needed to be close to Kris and going somewhere that Dan wasn't likely to frequent sounded like the perfect idea to her. "I'll have plenty of time to get ready then for dinner." she murmured. "You wanna shower before we go?" she questioned. She'd taken one that morning and had only slept really so she was fine but if he needed the bathroom for a quick shower, she could just use the mirror in her make-up bag, thankfully picked up in the rush to get away from her apartment. She couldn't exactly go into work looking like hell so she'd had enough thought to grab it.
Kris needed to shower yes, but he didn't like the idea of leaving her alone, even in the other room. He let common sense prevail and nodded. "Yes. Keep the door bolted, please." he said. Gently he slipped out of the bed, giving her yet another kiss on the forehead before grabbing some clean clothes and going into the bathroom. He turned on the water and was nude in seconds, biting back a groan. He was raging hard and it was painful to had even taken off his jeans.
Once in the water, he couldn't help himself. Kris closed his eyes, taking his cock into his hand and stroked himself, his mind remembering the feel of Arabella's hands on his back, the warmth of her body against his. He bit his lip hard to keep quiet as his mind moved onto other things he wanted to do with Arabella and none of them were PG-13.
Arabella nodded in agreement and planned to not go near the door until Kris was finished with his shower. In the meantime, she settled with her make-up bag at the table and went about getting her bruises covered as best she could. They were still noticeable, but not nearly as bad. Once that was finished, she sifted through her clothes and found a nice outfit to wear. She didn't want to go too fancy, nor too plain. Glancing at the door of the bathroom, she bit her lower lip and wondered if she had enough time to change before he came out of the room again.
At the moment she had time because Kris was working hard to reduce his raging hard on, all with thoughts of her. It was maddening, with how close she was in the hotel room that he could smell her. Every inch of her. He couldn't help a groan that slipped out as he braced himself with his free hand, the other stroking his cock wildly.
She was fairly close to the bathroom door and though it was faint through the wall, she did hear that groan, her brows going up. She shook her head and told herself that there were plenty of reasons for him to be groaning, most of which she didn't want to think about, and went about getting dressed. Still it made goosebumps rise on her skin. She forced her mind to calm and shook her head once more to try and get rid of the less than friendly thoughts that were rushing through her brain. Settling on the edge of the bed, she began to put her shoes on, though her eyes continued to flick to the bathroom door.
Finally he finished with another soft groan mixed with a snarl. He hadn't done that in a long time, but he just couldn't help himself. If he hadn't, he would of gone completely insane halfway through dinner. He quickly washed up, having taking enough time in the shower. He turned off the water, mentally ordering his cock to behave as he dressed in fresh jeans and a tight black t-shirt. His wardrobe was rather limited. He came out of the bathroom, rubbing a towel over his wet hair.
She heard the groan and the snarl even over the water and she flushed a little, her cheeks still red when he emerged from the bathroom clean and with the towel against his damp hair. She wanted to say something but she wasn't really sure what she'd say without either embarrassing him or herself.
He'd likely turn bright red and stutter like a teenager. He just acted like one as it was. Kris lowered the towel and looked at her and was glad he had done what he had done or he might of done something ungentlemanly. He smiled. "You look lovely, my lady." he said and took her hand to kiss it, his eyes dancing with mirth.
She bit her lower lip through a smile and flushed a little more. For the first time she was thankful that she was a shifter and not a were because if she could smell him any better, she might have shuddered. As it was, she already wished he'd not ran off to the bathroom to do whatever it was that had made that animalistic groan escape him. "Thank you." she replied as she stood up from the bed and moved towards him. "Can't cover up the bruises completely, but they're not as bad as they were a few minutes ago.
His nostrils flared a bit as she came close and he did everything he could to ignore the musk of arousal on her. He cleared his throat a bit to center himself, against willing his cock to not give him away. "You look beautiful." he said and meant it. "The place is low lighting, so you don't have to be self conscious."
"Thank you." she murmured again, reluctantly moving away from him to collect her purse and her phone which she tucked into said purse. "Okay." she said with a little sigh. "I think I'm ready. So whenever you're ready..."
"For you, always." he said with a smile. He slid his arm around her waist and led her outside to a waiting taxi. The weather wasn't up for a ride on his bike and he wanted to save that for something a little more special. "Your chariot awaits, my lady." he said and made an exaggerated bow as he opened the door for her.
She smiled at him as she climbed into the taxi. She wasn't sure why Kris was brought into her life, but she certainly was thankful that he was. Arabella smiled a little to herself as he closed the door. Her world had taken a turn, a very positive one. She couldn't wait to see where it led.
