He watched as she held back in the light. The shadows of the school fell over him.

The silver cross around her neck glistened in the dawn like dew. Her fingers went to it twice in under a minute as she watched him. "I don't know about this."

Smiling slowly, almost shy, Dean was careful not to show her his teeth. "There is nothing to fear." He raised his head a little as he held out a glove covered fist. With deliberate ease, he opened his fingers. "Take my hand."

Her fingers trembled as she found herself reaching out. A hesitant smile formed on her lips as she grasped for him. The moment their fingers made contact, she gasped.

Dean sighed. Blinking slowly, he gave her a reassuring look. He slid his hand firmly around hers, locking their hands together. Now that he had a firm hold he wasn't letting go.

The chill of his skin through the glove made her shiver. "You're cold."

"Oh, you'll warm me soon enough." It was almost time, he could feel it on the tip of his tongue. "Do you know how much you mean to me?"

Unable to speak, she shook her head. The teen stared deeply in to his eyes. What she saw made her sigh. "Come in to the light for me, please?"

"Anything for you." Bracing himself, Dean took the final step. He staunchly refused to wince as the sunlight the bits of his exposed skin.

Seeing this made her sway a little as her knees grew weak. He was just so beautiful to her. His pale skin begged to be touched. Pulling her hand from his, she reached up to his face. She moved slowly that he may pull away at any time.

Grasping her hands in his, instead of to his face, he brought them to the hood of his jacket. He waited until she had a firm hold before pushing it back to expose his face. Dean's only reaction as the sun hit his skin was to clench his jaw.

Her eyes went wide. Eventually she found the breath to gasp. Tears made her cheeks glisten where they ran down. "It's true. You're real." She started to reach up to his face only to stop halfway. "How is this possible?"

"Your love gives me the strength." Opening his arms, he waited for her to come to him. Dean didn't have to wait long.

She launched herself in to his arms. Tears streamed down her face as she buried her nose in his jacket.

Dean was glad he didn't have to breathe, as her grip would have strangled the life out of him. The thought of that made him chuckle. The smile on his face shifted as he felt her pull back a little. It was show time.

Sniffling, she reached up a hand to wipe her face clean. She wasn't a little kid, breaking down like this was beyond her. "You do love me, don't you."

"Of course I do." His hand moved to cup her cheek. Her tiny face molded perfectly to his hand. "I only want to kiss you."

"Then what are you waiting for?" Raising her chin, she closed her eyes and puckered her lips.

At last. Leaning forward, Dean opened his mouth. He bypassed her lips and went for her neck.

The moment she felt his fangs sink in, she gasped in pain. "Ow! Dean, that hurts."

Clenching his arms about her, Dean locked her against his body. His mouth sealed over the wound as he began to suck the blood from her neck.

Amanda realized something was terribly wrong when she heard a slurping sound. He wasn't kissing her, he was eating her! "Stop it! Let me go!" She tried to bring her hands up to defend herself, but he was too strong. Something wet slid along her skin from his lips. Spots began to form in her vision, so she tried to blink them away. "Dean! You're hurting me."

"Oh, he's doing a lot more than that." A voice from the shadows preluded the arrival of a tall figure.

Seeing him made Amanda gasp. "Help me, please," she pleaded with him as she steadily grew weaker.

"Sorry, but you're too skinny to share." Opening his mouth, Sam flashed her his fangs. He licked his teeth as he yawned. "Hurry up, Dean. It's late and I'm tired."

Feeling herself slip away, Amanda tried one last time to beg. Her voice came out in a pained gasp, and then she was unconscious.

Dean continued to feed on her until he felt her heart stop. When that happened, he released the wound with a smack of his lips. The lower half of his face was covered in blood as he pulled back. After wiping his face on her shirt, Dean dropped the body.

"Finally." Sam checked his watch. "The sun's been up for about twenty minutes already."

"Keep your pants on, Sammy. I was almost done." Running a finger over his teeth, Dean removed bits of Amanda from between them. "You could have gone on to the motel without me."

"Oh, no, I couldn't. I am not facing that thing you keep chained up in the trunk alone." Feeling his hackles rise at the mere thought of the creature, Sam shuddered. "Why do you even still have it?"

"It's a pet. He's useful." Dean shrugged his jacket back in to a comfortable position. Pulling up his hood, he glanced over at his brother. The tall jackass knew why he kept it, but had to bring it up every damned time they got in to an argument. "When are you going to get that stupid hair cut changed? I mean, you've only had it for like ten years!"

Oh, so he was going to pull this one. Sam shook his head. "Speaking about outdated, your lines? 'Your love gives me strength.' Gag me, Dean. Don't you think it's time you got some new material?"

"Hey, that's a classic! The chicks fall for it every time." Put out, Dean scowled and started on without his brother.

Sam's long stride quickly ate up the ground between them. Matching the other's pace, Sam stuffed his hands in his pockets. "Dean, you sound like an aging twink."

Dean stopped dead in his tracks. "Yeah, well at least I don't look like some giant, emo douchebag!"

Having caught Dean's actions out of the corner of his eye, Sam sighed. "Look who's the pot! You're wearing eye liner and body glitter to fool goth girls in to thinking you're a retarded version of a vampire!" He gestured at the shorter man's face for emphasis.

That stung. Lowering his voice, Dean leaned in towards his brother. "I don't know if you've noticed, but we are vampires."

Sam sucked in a quick breath between his teeth. "That's beside the point!" This was quickly getting out of hand. Then again, when didn't it?

Instead of firing back like he normally would have, Dean just looked away. After a full minute of silence, he spoke. "Okay, so what do you want me to do about it?"

This time, it was Sam's turn to look away. "Nothing. You have your techniques and I have mine."

"Then why did you bring it up?" It really stuck in his crawl. The big dork always knew how to push his buttons.

Pulling his hood up, Sam glanced up to the sky. "Because I'm tired and I want to go to bed."

Dean's lips twitched. Those words perked him right up. "Then why didn't you just say so?"

Too late, the taller man realized what he said. Still, it was out there, and he didn't want to let it go. "I'm not sleeping with that damned angel today."

That sounded reasonable. Dean was a reasonable kinda guy. "Fine, you can sleep on the floor then."

"You can sleep on the floor." Now, he was back to being petulant. What did it matter, though? He was the younger one, he could get away with it.

Dean pushed his hair out of his face as he scrubbed the glitter off. May be it was time to get rid of it, not that he'd ever admit it. "Sam, don't start with me. I'm not in the mood." The big jerk already had a large enough head.

"Then what are you in the mood for, Dean?" One look at his brother told Sam all he needed to know. "Oh, no. Not after you called me an emo douchebag." Sam stalked off. His greater speed left Dean in the distance.

"Come on, Sammy, you know I didn't mean it." Calling after his brother, Dean wore a grin. That quickly slipped when Sam didn't even slow down. "Sam?" Watching him turn a corner sealed it. "Fine, I'll just screw Cas instead! You can watch for all I care!"

A passing blue hair stopped mid-stride in her power walk. She watched Dean as he stormed by with wide eyes.

Dean gave her a smirk as he grabbed himself. "How're they hanging?" When she gave him a once over in return, the smirk slipped from his face. He picked up the pace after that.
