HP: Remus Lupin

Remus Lupin is a werewolf! This resulted in his body aging somewhat prematurely. He is often described as looking tired, sickly, scarred, or shabby - presumably due to the difficulty he would have in holding down a regular job with his condition, and consequential lack of income. His hair is light brown and starting to streak with grey (despite only living to the age of 38). Quiet and often serious in his demeanor, Remus was also best friends with James, Sirius, and Peter, and was plenty mischievous as well. He is a competent professor of DADA, Member of the original Order, and mentor to Harry.

[info]mrsbellariddle

Lord Voldemort/Tom Riddle

In his youth he was very handsome with jet black hair, dark eyes and slightly pale. After making some horcruxes his face became extremely pale, his eyes bloodshot and his face waxy and oddly distorted. His final transformation gave him a snake like look with red eyes, a flat nose, a skeletal thin build with unnaturally long fingers.

[info]makelovestay

HP: TED TONKS

Ted is described simply as a "fair-haired, big-bellied" man in DH.

[info]makelovestay

HP: PETER PETTIGREW

Pettigrew was an extremely short man (no taller than Harry or Hermione when they were about thirteen or fourteen years old) with small, watery eyes, and a pointed nose. In his youth, his hair was mousy brown (often depicted as blond as well), but by his mid-thirties, it had thinned out, lost its colour, and acquired a large bald patch. He was also described as "fat" in his youth, but when forced to return to his human form in the Shrieking Shack, he looked as though he lost plenty of weight in a short time, mostly due to his stress of fearing Sirius' wrath.

HP: Andromeda (Black) Tonks

Andromeda bears a striking resemblance to her elder sister Bellatrix, who is described as having heavy-lidded eyes, thin lips, and the patrician beauty common to the Black family. Unlike her sister, however, Andromeda has brown rather than black hair, soft features, and large, kind eyes.

HP: LILY (EVANS) POTTER

Lily has thick red hair that hangs to her shoulder and distinctive almond-shaped green eyes. She is described by several characters as "very pretty" (though we have never heard a description of her from a character who disliked her and so this ought to be taken with a grain of salt.) Her height and build are not mentioned.

HP: Bellatrix (Black) Lestrange

Bellatrix is markedly tall, with long black hair, dark, heavy-lidded eyes, and a thin mouth. Before her stay in Azkaban, her hair was thick and shining. After Azkaban it is noted that her face is gaunt and skull-like. She is the oldest of the Black daughters (Narcissa and Andromeda being her sisters). Being one of the innermost Death Eaters and exceedingly loyal to Voldemort, she is undoubtedly a baddie!

How We Work

  • Find the entry for the fandom and character (i.e. Harry Potter: Hermione Granger) you'd like to suggest a face for. If one doesn't exist yet, post an entry with a brief, unbiased description of the character's appearance as described by canon sources. If you've posted the entry for the character, please also post starter comments to break up the comments by approximate age (i.e. Harry Potter: Hermione Granger, Childhood/Teenager, 20s-30s, 40s-50s, etc).
  • Reply to the appropriate comment, based on the believable age(s) of the pb(s) you're suggesting. Please include a link to a set of icons whenever possible. You may include one icon for visual representation if you would like, but if you didn't make it, be sure to list who did. ;)
  • NO BASHING! So someone suggested a Hermione PB who you think has no business belonging there. Tough. You're free to suggest whomever you like, and so is anyone else. Rude comments will be deleted, users will be banned if necessary.
  • Inversely, if you suggest a PB who obviously contradicts what's known from canon (i.e. blond!Hermione), mods may reply with why they feel your suggestion doesn't fit, and remove the comment.

[info]suggest_mods

HP: Severus Snape

Snape is very thin, with shoulder length greasy black hair that frames his face in curtains. He has black eyes, uneven, yellowish teeth, a long, hooked nose, and skin that is described alternatively as sallow and pale. His clothing of choice is a seemingly unending supply of high-collared, long sleeved, flowing black robes, and the combination of his own appearance and his robes can sometimes give the impression of a bat.

[info]suggest_mods

HP: Narcissa (Black) Malfoy

Narcissa has blond hair, blue eyes, and Harry considers her to have a look on her face as though she was 'smelling dung' (though it should be noted that he dislikes her). She is tall, slender, pale, and nice-looking (presumably this means pretty, as within canon she is not a particularly kind person). In the films she has some weird black and blond reverse-skunk hair action going on, which is contradictory to book canon's description of being a sleek blond.

[info]suggest_mods

HP: Lucius Malfoy

Lucius is the grown up version of his son; he has pale blond hair, cold grey eyes, and a pointed, thin, pale face. In the films he carries a snake-head walking stick which contains his wand, though there is no mention of this in book canon.

[info]suggest_mods

HP: Pansy Parkinson

Has very little physical description in the books, other than being a "hard faced girl" and Harry considers her to have a "puggish" face (though to be fair, Harry is not fond of her). In the movies she's shown with a dark bob, though in book canon there is no information given about her hair color or style.

[info]suggest_mods

HP: Draco Malfoy

Draco has a pale, thin, pointed face with delicate bone structure. He has cold grey eyes, and white blond hair. It is noted that he shares some of his mother's disdainful and haughty facial expressions (though this is from Harry's viewpoint, and Harry dislikes Draco), and has an affinity for good quality robes.

[info]suggest_mods

HP: Neville Longbottom

Neville is a source of great debate, as far as PBs go. What we know from very early canon is that he is short and plump, with a round face. Also, during his seventh year at Hogwarts, he got many scars from the Carrows, and the Sorting Hat burning on his head.

JK Rowling has stated that she imagines him blond. Matt Lewis is brunette. Some people think his chub was the sort of baby fat that an eleven year old would grow out of, and he's now tall and thin; some think he's still short and squishy. PBs for this character are widely varied, though from what canon tells us, it ought to be agreed upon that he is not an incredibly sexy, shirtless male model with perfectly coiffed hair and a sharp jawline to match his washboard abs.

[info]suggest_mods

HP: Luna Lovegood

Defining features: Luna has dirty blonde, waist-length, straggly hair, and protuberant silvery grey eyes with very faint eyebrows that give her a permanently surprised look, particularly since she doesn't seem to blink as much as a 'normal' person. She often has a dreamy look, seeming to have turned up wherever she is completely by accident. While she's usually seen as weird, Luna is also open-minded, accepting, and kind.

[info]suggest_mods

HP: Fred & George Weasley

Defining features: Fred and George are identical twins, with the traditional Weasley red hair and freckles. They are the shorter, stockier build like their brother Charlie, and from their parents and siblings we can deduce that their eyes are most likely brown or blue. They are incredibly mischievous, like to joke and laugh, and cause a good deal of (mostly harmless) trouble. During the summer of 1997, George lost an ear during a mission for the Order of the Phoenix.

[info]suggest_mods

HP: Percy Weasley

Defining features: Tall and thin, Percy seems destined to grow up and look like his father. He wears horn rimmed glasses, has freckles, and (given other family members) likely blue or brown eyes. He is incredibly organized and neat; we can presume from his habits at Hogwarts and his work at the Ministry, Percy wears a lot of very traditional, professional, well-pressed robes.

HP: Charlie Weasley

Much is unknown about Charlie's appearance. If anyone contests my description of him as against canon (or reasonable deductions from canon), please comment and let me know which part you consider to be incorrect, and what might be better. Cheers!

Defining features: Charlie has the shorter, thicker, sturdier variety of Weasley physique, copious amounts of freckles, presumably blue or brown eyes (to match the known eye colors of his siblings), and red hair, which is presumably kept in at least a semi-long state (his mother attempts to cut it short), though too long would seem to detract from his work with dragons. From this work, we can deduce that he has many burns and other scars. He is a known outdoorsman, a lover of magical creatures, and a superb Quidditch Seeker. Given his noted popularity, many assume him to be handsome; though the only information we know about any sort of intimate relationships is that he never married (source; JK Rowling, not books).

[info]suggest_mods

HP: Bill Weasley

Defining features: Long red hair that is mostly kept tied back in a ponytail, a dragon fang earring, blue eyes, and good looks help give Bill an air of 'cool'. In the late spring of 1997, he attacked by a werewolf, and gruesome scars from the attack mar one side of his face. He is tall and thin like his father, and wears more Muggle style of clothing that would not be out of place at a rock concert.

[info]suggest_mods

HP: Arthur Weasley

Defining features: Based on his children, we can guess his eyes might be blue. We know his hair is red, and is balding. He is quite tall and thin, and wears glasses. He wears shabby robes, and enjoys Muggle things, including clothing, which he is reasonably adept at coordinating.

[info]suggest_mods

HP: Molly Weasley

Defining features: Warm brown eyes, (considered by most people to have) red hair. Plump, little (presumably short, as this is in contrast with the adjective 'tall' to describe her husband, Arthur), nicknamed 'Mollywobbles' by Arthur. Mrs. Weasley is motherly, unpretentious, and enjoys hats and knitting.

[info]suggest_mods

HP: Ginny Weasley

Defining features: Brown eyes, long red hair, copious amounts of freckles. Ginny is short in stature and athletic in build, bearing a strong resemblance to the twins, and her mother. She is known to be brave, caring, and have a quick temper.

[info]suggest_mods

HP: Ron Weasley

Defining features: Blue eyes, red hair, copious amounts of freckles, a long nose. Ron is very tall and lean, described as gangling, with large hands and feet. Due to his family's lack of fortune, the fashions of his youth were of the hand-me-down sort, and he has a vehement dislike of dressing up. Ron is highly loyal, a bit gormless, and wryly funny.

[info]suggest_mods

HP: Hermione Granger

Defining features: Brown eyes, very curly/frizzy/bushy/unruly brown hair, somewhat pronounced front teeth. Hermione is known to put almost no effort into her appearance, but on the rare occasion when she does, is quite pretty. Hermione is smart, practical, and though she tries to hide it, very emotional.

[info]suggest_mods

HP: Harry Potter

Defining features: Brilliant green eyes, glasses (round, wire-rimmed), messy black hair that sticks up in the back, fringe. Lightning bolt shaped scar on his forehead. Medium height, skinny build. Dresses casually whenever possible.
