Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Before I update this guy I thought I'd post here first and see if anyone wants a line with him or if he fits the bill for any lines that need filling! His name is Jack Ryder (PBed by the lovely Russell Brand) and he is a sex and relationship columnist for Cosmo (I may change the magazine he works for because I'm having second thoughts). He hails from the UK and moved to New York a handful of years ago and currently lives in the Tribeca area of Manhattan. He knows ~daisypaterson from a very short stint at GQ, and thus far that is his only connection. Personality wise he is a very open person when it comes to just about anything, a must considering his column is generally geared toward everything sex related from the fluffy stuff to the more interesting seedy/dark topics. He's rough around the edges, swears a lot and drinks and smokes, and loves to try new things (especially because it usually gives him ideas and material for his column). I'm terrible at these but those are his basics. He could use friends, exes (never really serious), absolutely anything.

FRIENDS!!!! sorry just got a little excited. I think Jude and him are a decent match especially with the drinking, swearing and smoking part.

I just read through his info and I agree completely, I think they'd make marvelous friends! With stylin' hair no less! Would you prefer them be newer friends or go way back (and by way back I mean a few years)?

If you're still thinking about changing Cosmo to a different magazine, then I can offer up Luke as a former colleague. He's the art director over at the fictional tech company called ZimZala, which is pretty much on the scale of Google, but prior to that, he worked as a graphic designer at a few different places, including Details and Vice. If either of those magazines work for you (I know they're two totally different magazines), let me know.

Hm hm hm. While I do want him working for a women's magazine currently, I would love to throw Vice in there as yet another job he used to have, where he could have met Luke. It wouldn't be unlike him to bounce from magazine to magazine and I think he would have done well at Vice before moving on yet again.

That works for me! I meant to mention the time frame that Luke worked at Vice but apparently I forget things when I'm half asleep. Anyway, if it works for you, Luke was at Vice from 2007 to most of 2008. If that doesn't work, we can try to figure something else out; since Luke has done a lot of freelance work, I think it would be easy enough to figure out how else they could have crossed paths.

No worries, I forget things when I'm completely awake so I have no room to judge whatsoever. And that certainly works for me! I'll probably say that he worked there for a short while between GQ and whatever magazine I decide to stick him to now.
