Sunny really didn't want to deal with running into Sally today -- or any day, really, after the last time -- but she knew she'd spotted her, and she didn't want to be the one who was rude. Besides, for all she knew, Sally could have been having a bad day, or something. She didn't really know. Sunny felt she didn't really know much of anything anymore. Stoneybrook was so confusing. Everything was confusing.

"Hey." she said, a bit cautiously, as she approached her.

Marty had been stewing since he saw Sheila's latest journal entry. She could have been bluffing since she didn't name her date, but he had a feeling she was telling the truth. He didn't know who she was going with, but he was sure he would find out soon.

Cracking open his laptop, he quickly typed in the url for the white pages and looked up Sally's number. Before he could even think about it, he dialed the number into his cell.

"Can I talk to Sally?" he asked the person who answered the phone.

Two could play at this game.

Sally looked at her reflection in her locker mirror. As always, she looked good. As if there was any doubt. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Malik Jaffrey walk by. Nom, Sally thought as she shut her locker and walked after him.

"Malik, right?" Sally called, trying to think of a good reason to talk to him. Not that she needed a good reason. She was Sally White, after all. Still a conversation started is never a bad thing.
