Only Wanna Be With You
Davy sat at the bar sipping at the diet soda he'd ordered while Gregory sat with some of his friends from the hospital. He was waiting for his man to hurry up so they could catch the movie both of them had been waiting to see since they'd seen the previews. Rolling his eyes, he turned back around and grinned at the bartender and then set his drink down when a man slid in next to him to sit at the bar.
"Hi, my name is Jeff," the stranger said as he motioned to the bartender. "I'll have a scotch neat and another one for him, whatever it is he's having." The stranger turned and looked back at the good looking brunette that was staring at him.
"What's your name?" he asked as he leaned in close, wanting to get to know him better.
"David," Davy replied, a little taken aback at the forwardness of the other man. "Thanks for the soda, but I can take care of it myself."
The stranger, Jeff, raised a brow and looked down at the glass Davy was holding. "Why is it that someone as cute as you are is drinking soda?" he asked, leaning in closer to the other man. "Let me buy you a real drink."
"Thank you, but really... I prefer soda," Davy murmured with a sigh, glancing around for Gregory.
Gregory looked down at his watch, checking the time. Nearly time for the movie and he was so ready to get away from work talk. He patted one of his colleges on the shoulder and made to stand when he was jerked back down and presented with another drink. He scowled but accepted it, knocking back the alcohol quickly. It had been a rough day at the hospital and he didn't think his lover would mind too much. Davy was definitely going to have to drive tonight.
"Come on, let me at least buy you a beer," Jeff said, signaling the bartender for the drink. "So what do you do? I work out at the airport, you know, in the control tower." By this time, he was leaning in trying to sniff Davy's cologne.
Making a face, Davy shook his head at the bartender, thankful the man knew him and knew he didn't drink. "Wow, the control tower, that's impressive," Davy said, rolling his eyes and glad he didn't fly often. "I work out at Mount Sinai."
"A doctor or a nurse?" Jeff asked, one hand headed to Davy's knee. "Where's your beer?"
"I work in the kitchen and I told you I don't want a beer. I don't drink," Davy said as he moved the man's hand.
Looking confused, Jeff gave Davy a strange look. "If you don't drink, why're you in a bar?"
"I'm waiting for someone."
Jeff leaned closer again and smirked. "Well he's obviously too stupid to make it on time for someone like you. I'd not make you wait for me."
Davy grit his teeth and then smiled. "Actually he's already here, he's just talking to some friends," he said as he scooted back from the newcomer.
Gregory looked up at the bar for his lover and frowned slightly. He got up waved off the offers and took a deep breath as he tried to walk a straight line. They had yet to have dinner and the three shots of whiskey he had were hitting him hard.
Davy looked up and smiled at Gregory. Turning to Jeff, he tried a polite smile. "Thank you for the soda, have a nice night," he said as he slipped off the barstool to go to Gregory.
Frowning, Jeff grabbed at Davy's arm, pulling him back to him. "I'm not done talking to you yet."
"I think you are man, so let him go." Gregory slurred slightly and smiled at his lover. "Let's go Davy."
"Who the fuck are you?" Jeff demanded, not turning Davy's arm loose, instead pulling him closer to him. The newcomer got to his feet and looked down at Gregory.
Gregory shook his head. "None of your business. Just let him go and we can all go about our ways." he held out a hand to Davy. "Ready?"
Davy nodded and placed his hand in Gregory's only to be yanked off balance by the stranger.
"Let him be, we're talking," Jeff growled, placing a hand on Gregory's chest and pushing him backwards.
"Leave him alone," Davy snapped as he jerked his arm away from the stranger and went to his lover.
Gregory wrapped an arm around his lover and passed him the keys. "Sorry, about that." He pressed a kiss to the man's forehead and turned his back on the stranger. "You ready to go?"
Davy took the keys and looked at his man. "Want to just go home baby?" he asked softly as he led the way to the door.
Gregory shook his head. "Nope, I want to see the movie and spend sometime with you." He eyed his lover. "Unless you want to go home." he turned and looked back at the idiot at the bar. "Did I interrupt something promising?"
Davy rolled his eyes and shook his head. "No Master, not at all. He's a pain in the ass that wouldn't go away," he said as he kept walking. "I just didn't know if you still felt like going."
"Jerk." Gregory nodded and something inside of him unclenched. He and Davy had an agreement yet neither of them had acted on it so far. "Yes, I still want to spend time with you, Pet. You need to eat before we hit the show?"
"Do we have time?" Davy asked as they walked out into the chilly air of the Chicago fall. He headed them towards the lot where they had parked Gregory's car.
Gregory nodded. "I think so, If not and you do need to eat we can catch a later showing. I am not on call this weekend so you have me all to yourself." he grinned at his lover and leaned closer kissing and licking the side of his neck.
"You need to eat don't you?" Davy asked, groaning softly as Gregory nibbled on his neck. "Fuck Greg..."
Gregory grinned. "Okay, that sounds good too."
"What are you trying to do to me?" Davy laughed as Gregory pushed him up against the car. He smiled at his lover and offered him his mouth, not paying any attention to anything around them.
Gregory took Davy's mouth and rubbed against him. "Molest you?" he asked as he chuckled and cupped Davy's face. I'm glad you didn't go off with the asshole."
"Why would I do something so stupid?" Davy breathed as he leaned in, kissing Gregory's mouth, biting at the man's lips and sucking on his tongue.
Gregory groaned and closed his eyes. "It's not stupid. He was ... well… tall. Male. Never mind." He gave himself over to his lover's kisses drowning in them just like the drinks he'd had not to long ago.
Davy stopped and pushed Gregory back from him. "You think I'd go with him because he was tall?" he asked, looking at his lover in disbelief.
Gregory blinked and shook his head. "Um, no. I didn't get a good look at him other than the obvious. I just thought… well I don't know what I thought. You didn't seem to want to join me at the table."
Davy rolled his eyes and turned to open the car door. "You were with your friends, Greg. I don't exactly fit in, you know," he said as he opened the door for Gregory.
Gregory snorted. "Now, let's not go through this again." He sank down into the seat. "They know we are together and they aren't really my friends, just colleagues." He pulled Davy down to him and kissed him.
"Either way, I don't exactly fit in with your crowd," Davy said as he pulled away from the kiss and went around, opening the driver's door. "Face it; I can't exactly keep up with them in a conversation." He started the car and backed out of the parking slot.
Gregory pulled the seatbelt around him and shook his head. "Well you aren't stupid, Pet and we don't always chat about work. You are an accomplished professional too." He rubbed his face. "I'm not making any sense, am I?"
Davy snorted softly and shook his head. "As one of your colleagues put it so succulently, I'm a glorified fry cook living on your good graces."
Gregory turned and stared at Davy. "Which one? The bastard."
"Don't worry about it. I'm over it. Where do you want to eat?" Davy asked as he steered the car into the early weekend traffic along the Lake.
"I'm not." Gregory pouted, trying to figure out who would say such a thing. "Was it Marks? He's a bastard of the first order. Nooo. It was that bitch Carmichaels, wasn't it?"
Davy sighed and shook his head. "Pasta alright with you?" he asked as he head towards an Italian restaurant they enjoyed on occasion. "Forget it Greg, just forget it."
"Pasta is fine. I won't forget it. I want you to tell me who it was." Gregory looked at his lover. "I don't like it that someone would say those things to you and then be all perky to my face. The bastards."
Davy just shrugged. It was only one of several comments that had been made to him at the hospital and just another reason he tended to steer clear of the functions Gregory attended at the hospital. The last one he'd attended, he had been reminded by the hospital administrator that the function was for the professional staff.
He found a parking spot and shut the small import off. "Ready?"
Gregory reached over and stroked Davy's face. "I suppose, but I really would like it if you would tell me."
Davy sighed in frustration and looked at Gregory, not certain if he should say anything more. "It seems to be the general consensus in your department," he said and then opened his door to get out.
Gregory sighed and shook his head. "Fuckers." He muttered softly and got out of the car. Merlin, he wished they could go somewhere else and not have to put up with shit like this. "Davy, come here." he held out a hand to his lover and waited for him to come around the car.
"Yessir," Davy said as he came around the front of the car, handing Gregory the keys and placing his hand in the other man's outstretched one. "It's alright Greg, it's no big deal."
Gregory pulled him close and nuzzled the other man. "Bastards. I hate shit like this almost as much as I hate not being able to be more out with you."
Davy grinned evilly and laughed. "It's alright baby. I just reminded them that it was the glorified fry cook that was handling their food."
Gregory grinned and shook his head as he wrapped an arm around his lover. "Shit, remind me not to piss you off." he kissed the side of Davy's neck and steered them towards the restaurant."
Davy grinned, leaning in to nudge Gregory with his shoulder. "I wouldn't mess with your food, I'd just use muscle rub for lube when I fuck you," he teased as he opened the door for them both. "I am starving."
Gregory stared at his lover then shook his head. "Damn, you spent too much time with Severus." he pressed a hand to Davy's back gently stroking him through his jacket as the waited for the hostess. He leaned closer and smirked as he whispered in Davy's ear, "You do that and I'll never spread my legs for you again," before biting down on the soft flesh of his lobe.
Davy shivered as the other man bit his ear, that was one of his weak spots and Gregory knew it. "Stop it, you're going to make me get hard," he whispered as he shifted his stance and hoped for the best. "I'd never do that anyway, you might, but I wouldn't."
Gregory grinned a wolfish smile at his lover. Since they had been together he'd learned to push his own limits and it had opened a whole new realm for the two of them. He enjoyed the little bit of pain that they had added into their relationship. He was still nowhere near Severus Snape's level but he wasn't the sweet idealistic submissive boy that Max Sorens knew either.
"Did you want me to do that to you tonight? Do you want me to hurt you, make you scream my name and have you beg for me to just let... you... come?" He punctuated the last three words with small quick licks to Davy's ear.
Davy groaned and closed his eyes, fighting for control so he didn't embarrass himself in public. "Yeah... but not the muscle rub stuff," he said softly, nearly jumping as the hostess came to seat them. Grabbing his lover's hand, he followed the woman to a small booth, ignoring some of the looks they received from other patrons.
Gregory smiled at the hostess as he took the menu from her. He waited until she left before looking up at his lover. "Are we on a meat day or not?"
"I'm not, but you can have it. I've told you that you don't have to deny yourself because of me," Davy said as he looked over the menu and quickly chose his food.
"I'm not denying myself. I like the vegetarian faire." Gregory smiled and picked out his entree, ordering for both of them and a bottle of wine. He passed the menus back to her then reached out for Davy's hand.
Davy laced his fingers with Gregory's and smiled at the other man. "Is your buzz wearing off?" he asked softly, a gentle smile on his face for his lover. "Did you have fun?"
Gregory nodded and rubbed his thumb over Davy's fingers. "It wasn't so much fun as a decompressing session. It was a rough day at the hospital and clinic. How was your day?"
Davy shrugged, it had been a long day with three people missing from the kitchens and two quitting mid shift. "Just feeding people, you know how it is," he said softly. He didn't like talking much about what he did, even though the other man said that what he did was important, Davy knew better.
Gregory frowned but didn't say anything to his lover. He rubbed Davy's fingers once more and smiled at his. "Do you just want to go home after this and I'll take care of you?"
"I thought you wanted to see the movie?" Davy asked as their drinks were set on the table and he sipped at his water.
"I do but we both had a bad day it seems. I was just seeing if you wanted me to take you home and pamper you." Gregory smiled at him. "We can still go if you want to though. Either way it doesn't matter to me. I like spending the time with you since we don't get to do this often."
"Whatever you would like to do is fine with me," Davy said as he set his glass to one side as their meals were quickly delivered to the table. "If you don't feel like going, then we'll go home."
Gregory let go of Davy's hand to unwrap his utensils and shake some cheese into his spinach and beef medallions with linguini. "I'd like to see the movie." He used a spoon and rolled up the pasta, humming as he tasted the steamy dish.
Davy nodded as he cut into one of his cheese stuffed ravioli. "That's fine with me, sir," he said quietly, wondering if he'd somehow pissed the other man off with something he'd said.
Gregory looked up from his plate and over at Davy. "Davy, have I done something to offend you?" he asked softly and searched his lover's face.
Davy shook his head quickly. "No sir, not at all," he replied before taking a bite. Hearing several loud voices at the front of the restaurant, he looked up to see several of his lover's colleagues from the hospital entering.
"I think we're being followed," he laughed softly, picking up his water.
Gregory looked around, scowling slightly. Damn he had thought to have gotten away from that crowd and he still wasn't over the things Davy had told him. "Ignore them and maybe they'll pass us by." He smiled at his lover. "I want to have a good night with you and spend the rest of the weekend in bed, taking care of you. How does that sound?"
"Absolutely wonderful and I'm yours until one o'clock tomorrow afternoon," Davy laughed softly, continuing with his meals.
As luck would have it, Gregory's colleagues were seated at the table next to theirs and soon he began to hear the cracks about him being allowed in the front of the house quickly followed by the requisite, 'we're just joking, he knows that Greg.'.
Gregory slammed his utensils down on the table and pushed back his chair. He was in no mood for the stupidity his supposed friends were displaying. "Come on Davy, we're leaving. I refuse to stay in this establishment in such terrible company." He picked up his wine glass and drank down the contents, slamming it back on the table as well.
Gregory then turned to the group at the next table. "No, you aren't joking and I have had it with the snide remarks. Piss off." Pulling his wallet out of his pocket, he tossed down a few bills and held out a hand to his lover.
Davy sighed softly, shaking his head as he stood up. "It's alright Greg, you don't need to make enemies of the people you work with," he said under his breath as he was led towards the door. "I can ignore them."
Gregory stopped and looked at Davy. "No, David, I've had it with shit like this. I am sick and tired of the gossip and whisperings. Thank Merlin my contract is almost up."
Not thinking of what the other man might do, Davy did the first thing that came to his mind.
He grabbed the lapels of Gregory's jacket, pulling the man to him, kissing him thoroughly for several long seconds in front of the entire restaurant before turning and flipping his lover's colleagues the bird.
"Let's go."
Gregory threw back his head and laughed heartily as Davy pulled him from the restaurant. "I knew there was a reason I loved you. That was fantastic, Davy."
Davy grinned at the other man as they walked down the sidewalk. "I bet they have something to say Monday," he laughed as he reached out for the other man's hand. "Wonder who's going to eat down in the cafeteria now?"
Gregory squeezed Davy's hand and laughed again. "So what? I don't care anymore. Fuck them." He sighed and looked over at his lover. "Are you still hungry, Pet? Do we need to find something else for you to eat?"
"I'm good, there's peanuts in the glove box for the movie," Davy said as they came up on the car. Unlocking the door for Gregory, he opened the door for him and then shut it behind him before going around, sliding behind the wheel.
Gregory leaned his head back against the headrest after buckling his seat belt. "If you are certain. I want candy, a pickle, nachos, popcorn and a great big soda when we get there." He turned his head and smiled at Davy.
"Holy shit," Davy laughed as he started the car. "Are you really going to eat all of that?"
Gregory grinned. "Yeah, I'm hungry and it's my weekend off. I am not answering the phone unless your cell shows up on the Caller ID box."
Davy looked over at his lover and smirked. "You'd better answer if it's me calling," he laughed, then put his hand on Gregory's leg, giving it a squeeze. "Let's go see a movie babe."
