Hello everyone.
This is Meg (April and Cass) with a quick note that I am changing my AIM name from unreliabletruths to apostropheuser. It sort of matches my useapostrophes CDJ, yay. So, you know, if anybody needs to contact me.

Happy New Year, Steamtrek! This is Loren. I'm back in the States, and, as promised, here is character numero dos! Her name is Beatriz María Elena Rosales de León, although just Beatriz Rosales works, and she is a professor! This is her first real year of teaching, so other characters may not know her yet, but anyone interested in archaeology or religion will get to know her very soon! I'm still working on her class list, but I imagine it will consist of things like "Cultures of Latin America," "Origins of the Semitic Religions," "Breaking and Entering Ancient Temples," and "Grail Lore 101." You see, Beatriz is a bit like a female Indiana Jones. Her goal in life is to retrieve artifacts from ancient temples so that modern society can benefit from the knowledge they contain. Also, she wants to find the Holy Grail before her father does, but that's a long story.
Personality-wise, she's very confident and passionate, outgoing and flirtatious more often than not, but also stubborn. She's got quite a temper, but hopefully students won't see much of that! Even though she's new to teaching, she's trying to fit herself into the "mentor" role (even if being a mentor means she's getting old... eep!). Promising female students, especially: watch out! Beatriz may try to take you under her wing. Promising male students, she's not really hitting on you, I swear. That's inappropriate. That aside, if anyone else has any ideas, I am more than open to them. I would really love any and all plot you guys can throw at me!
Also, while I'm here, your character may, or more likely may not, notice that Arda will not be eating at normal mealtimes starting January 3 because hello, that is the beginning of Ramadan. He also will not be available for dranks for the next month for the same reason. Way to be no fun, Arda.

Hello everyone! My name is Eronn, I'm 25 and you can find me OOCly at pigs_in_space.
I am here to introduce Marigold Wyss, con(wo)man extraordinaire. Her entire family is in the con artist business and are based out of Switzerland. She's a very good con artist - she's got a great memory, is good with languages and accents, and just has this way about her that makes people like her and trust her. She was planning to stay in the family business forever until she conned a member of SCONE - that person came back and recruited her, and Marigold decided that she could have her cake and eat it too - keep conning people and yet do it for the greater good. She still helps out her family on occasion, but she keeps that quiet. She's generally a pretty good person, and likable, but it's hard to sometimes know if she's being sincere or not.
That's the very short version, but her longer profile is posted in her journal. I would love to find a volunteer for the person who recruited her, and work out how she conned him/her! I'd also love to work out other connections - she's a social person and would likely know a lot of people.
I can't wait to play with you all!

[28 12 09] |
Merry after-Christmas, steamtrek! My name is Connie, and I am a new arrival to this wonderful community. If I already know you, then long time no see, but if not, I am really looking forward to getting to know you in play. :D
My first (only? We shall see how timing works out) character is one Fernanda Franconetti, second-year TEACUP student from Spain. As will shock you from the nature of her username, Fernanda's area of specialty is the majesty of song and dance, specifically of the flamenco variety that is in the middle of its golden age in Spain at this period of history. Her family owns a flamenco cafe in Madrid, but thanks to a few generations of military connections on the side, it's often used as a front for contract killing. What better facade for an gunslinging than some giant ruffles and a guitar, right? In terms of personality, Fernanda is a lot more shy and retiring than her training would suggest -- and also much, much more religious than it would suggest, because the irony of murder + piety is too good to resist. If you are interested in reading more, because I have rambled long enough, her profile is available here.
I would love to set up personal connections and backstory wherever possible, so if you think it's possible that your character(s) would get along with mine, then please drop me a line! My contact info is also available in my profile, but everyone is welcome to friend me at connie, or do the simple thing and just leave a comment here. Thanks so much to all in advance! I'm really glad to be here.

Hello lovelies! I'm Sophia and I am SO EXCITED to finally be here, but more excited to start playing this girl: meet Adeline Guichard, 2nd year, specializes in cooking. (I know I missed the cook-off, I am still sad about this.) She specializes in what we would call molecular gastronomy, or the application of scientific methods and rigor to food! She just calls it "scientific gastronomy" for now.
A quick rundown on this girl - she's half French and half Chinese, born in Singapore to a French chemist (also a SCONE member) and a Chinese maid, so she's sort of illegitimate. Her mother died of malaria when she was 10 and she shipped back to France with her father, where she attended boarding school and became chummy with the school cook on the sly, and then she stayed at home for a couple of years as her father's unofficial assistant (and doing her own research on the side) until she finally took TEACUP's entry test and got in, although she has no idea what SCONE would want a trainee like her for. She's a bit on the humorless side, straightforward and opinionated and dedicated to her work, and generally unladylike except in decorum and dress. Other information can be found on her profile!
I can be found at jonquilsdance on AIM and my CDJ is jonquilles - YOUR PLOTS, I WOULD LIKE THEM PLEASE. :D

Hey guys, hiatus notice! I will be on the beach for the next week, feel free to be jealous. Probably limited internet access, so if you want to get ahold of me, my e-mail is, as always, withano@gmail.com.
When I get back, I'll tell you all about my second character ( raiderof)!

Wow, I totally fail at a timely intro, sorry guys! Seriously, I've been meaning to do this for weeks. Massive fail on my part. Anyway, I'm And, bringing you two new characters to the game! This here is Hillary Albert Montgomery, but EVERYONE just calls him Gummy. It fits him. He is the "royally useless spy." Basically, his deepest desire is to be a bad ass spy, but he just isn't smart enough, or very quick thinking and he has no subtlety at all. Things that are important for spies to have, pretty much. But, he is rich and well-connected (the headmaster is his uncle), so he got into TEACUP. If you'd like to read more, here is his profile.
Secondly, I have Claude de Villeneuve ( fumant). He is the stereotypical Frenchman and I apologize in advance to French people everywhere. Okay, with that out of the way, basically he loves wine, women and smoking. He is kind of morally bankrupt, an ex-pickpocket and the son of a whore (who is dead now). But, Claude is also a really brilliant mechanic and that's how he got into TEACUP. There's much more about Claude here!
Please plot with me! Either in comments or I am reachable at toastysocks@gmail.com (gchat is good with me) or on AIM at look mod wolves. Oh and my cdj is yeti. I am not getting notifs right now, by the way, so good timing on my part for posting this, oops. Anyway, I can't wait to get started!

Not a real hiatus post but a heads up: I'm moving on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I don't know if I'll have internet yet in the new place. I really hope so, and assume so, since one of them is a WoW nerd and can't live without his orc killing or w/e it is they do, but I'm not getting my hopes up yet. So while I know I'll be super slow this week---I'm not packing until last minute >>---I know I'll be nearly INVISIBLE this weekend until Monday.
I'll try and keep up though! I have an iPhone, I can do it. I think.

Hello my children!
I apologise that I have been insanely busy over the last week + (finals and the game I mod ending had me kind of... busy...), BUT. Someone, please, help me catch up. I am buried under posts rn.
Thank you!
This is also an "I'm back, plot with me" type post. So, if anyone wants to do anything, just ask.

In case anyone missed it, Dr. Petrovna has just offered a very special extra credit assignment. She'll be asking some students to discreetly pilfer away some of Professor Petrov's sweets without his knowledge, and others to keep tabs on him. Though this isn't every student's cup of tea, I do know we have a few thieves and sneaky sorts among our ranks, so if anyone wants in on the fun, feel free to comment Nadya's post.
Also, since finals are almost over here and my notifs seem to be working now, if there was anyone I spoke to before that wanted to scene something, now would be an excellent time.

Alright, so I'm super late for this...I'm Vivian and this here is Dorian. He's a third year right now. He is was a thief. He's stolen a massive amount of money and priceless objects (well, of course Dorian put a price on it) but hes in the teacup program as an alternative to prison. He's neat, organized, even tempered and rather friendly. When Dorian was arrested many things were repossessed, but nothing they couldn't prove that he stole, so he still has a good amount of money and nice things. However, it's no secret that it's probably all stolen, or at least paid for with stolen money, and I don't think anyone would want to leave him around their things for too long. I don't know what else to say about him that other people would know publicly. He speaks English, and Italian fluently and a good amount of Russian that he picked up through transactions with people and he knows a few other languages, but not very much. Aside from that, he's very proud of his weapons collection.
And I can be reached at icceheart on aim and my ooc journal is valos. :]

Oh gosh I'm so terrible at introductions. Which is why I'm doing this.
I know a few of you already, but for those who don't, I'm Jo (jojumpshigh@gmail.com), I'm 25 but have the mental capabilities of a three year old monkey, and I live in Southern CA (SoCal for people who care about that). Moving on!
This here is Antoni Martínez Ruiz, a Spaniard and mechanic. He does well with cogs, gears and many parts of ships (and to a less scale, clocks). Don't be fooled by this laughing icon I'm using. Antoni's very nervous and shy in person, largely due to his stutter. It decreases around friends and family but he inadvertently does a great job of making sure he has little of the former (You can't decrease the number of family members you have--or can you?). He's more friendly through communication devices.
What else...ah! Obviously he's fluent in both Spanish and English. His family's pretty poor so he's developed a habit of being a hoarder which can be seen when he stuffs food away in his pockets from the kitchen, a lost button on the floor gets taken, etc. He's a good guy to the core and definitely one of THE guys to ask for help when it comes for fixing things, mostly because he won't say no.
::rubs hands:: AUGH WHO TURNED THE FANS ON IN THIS BUILDING IT'S COLD OUTSIDE AND I'M A WUSS That is all.
Can't wait to start playing with everybody esp. with the island plot!

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there!
I'm J/Jay (for most of you), I'm twenty, and I just got accepted! Woot!
I live in the great pacific northwest. Forks is like, three hours down the road. And no, we don't have vampires here. And no, our native Americans don't turn into werewolves. (sad day! ;,;) I was just appointed assistant editor to my university's newspaper (it's a paid position! $$$) and I was given the opportunity to illustrate a children's book. I'm an all around artist. And now, I get to write with the lot of you! Isn't this year just the freaking greatest everrr!?
But, other than myself, I guess I should focus on this gorgeous female. Meet Nesrine El Boumedan ( algerian). She's from Algeria, and specializes in African Occultism, notably the mysticism surrounding African culture, religion, and lifestyle. She has a super cool totem necklace that she wears, that was completely soaked with opium. The totem's powers are gender-specific (leaning toward males), and so she uses it expecting the same results. Unfortunately, it doesn't work like this. While in a trance, and with the high concentrated amounts of opium, Nesrine is put through these relaxed, drugged states. While under the drug, she becomes sort of this "African oracle of Delphi", where she believes she is getting messages from ancient gods in regards to inventions, and other prophecies. In actuality, it's all from her subconscious. She has the making to be an inventor, but she really doesn't think she has the ingenuity needed to become one. Sadly, she does have it, and it comes out only while in these spiritual trances. "Messages from the gods", * very smart young lady.
Nesrine is a very serious young woman. She comes from a third world country, if you will, that is always in a state of chaos, and constantly occupied by other nations. To her, being serious emulates sophistication and maturity. She's a perfectionist, and you could say that her mind prevents the ingenuity to design inventions without the aid of opium. She doesn't like taking things for granted. She is grateful to be welcomed to the school, and shows this by being a perfect, model student. Many young girls in Algeria don't get the opportunity of higher education.
She's a very strong female, and studies whenever she can. Ignorance isn't accepted in her eyes, despite it's existence, and anyone who displays a disliking toward the minority (be it women, or people of colour), believing they are not up to par with "Caucasian Europeans", totally doesn't float Nesrine's boat. And although she has this very serious, good student, loves to learn attitude, everything changes while under the influence of opium.
She's much more relaxed. She'll slur her words when she's not in meditation, and often stumbles over herself the longer she wears the totem and inhales the opium from it. She's a lot more "fun" when it comes to having the totem, where her tolerance and respect levels bar get raised a good eight or so inches. That being said, she often doesn't remember what has happened.
And that's pretty much it! She's kind of bi-polar in the sense that the totem provides these extreme personality changes, but that is fun.... I'd love to plot. I'd love for her to have a key buddy, should you be looking for someone to be paired with.
Feel free to contact me at jessaie encore or textuaiiy! I'm somewhat AIM shy, and usually don't IM those I'm not familiar with. So if you, wanna, yannow... send one first, that would be awesome!
Looks like a great lot, and I'm looking to have some fun! :D

| yet another intro! |
[07 12 09] |
I am so behind on this it isn't even funny. Like, hello, I have a character that's been commenting around and I haven't even introduced her yet, what complete fail. But whatever, my other character is in and now you get double the intros. :D Anyway, hello! My name is Rae ( speedforce, if you're nasty), I'm 20, and I'm from the dirty, dirty south. That's pretty much all you need to know about me, so let's move on~ This journal belongs to Sonali Karve, SCONE trainee and cat burglar extraordinaire. Born in Bombay, she used to be your typical obnoxious pickpocket until one of her teachers, a former professor at TEACUP, took Sonali under her wing at the age of fourteen. She molded her into the Sonali you see today -- elegant, calm, witty, and somewhat (okay, very) flirtatious. She didn't have too many friends growing up, so she makes it a habit to be nice to everyone. Well, almost everyone. She doesn't suffer too many fools, sorry. It should be noted that Sonali very rarely talks about herself, her past, and her ventures, etc -- one can't be a very good thief if you show more than you observe. She also has a very ballin' motorbike, but more on that later. If you want to read more about her, go here! :D My newest character is Jonah Jackson/ occulting, a 3rd year occult detective. Not paranormal investigator -- occult detective. He will fight you on this one. Anyway, it's just a fancy term for a magician who deals with pesky demons, monsters, supernatural creatures, etc. He's from London, spent most of his life on the streets (the mean streets that birthed him, if you will), and is kind of an asshole. Egocentric, abrasive, and without an ounce of decorum. Sorry in advance, guys. He's damn good at what he does, but he is a bastard for the sake of being a bastard. :/ He wants to get a team of occultists together, but who knows how that will go, because he's just not a people-person. Um, he also does a lot of drinking and smoking! The rest of his bio is here. I think that's it? Again, my CDJ is speedforce, and my sn is the major keys. I have two more characters in the making, but I'll keep mum on those. In the meantime, friends, enemies, etc? I'm down with any and all plot you want to throw at me. :>

| Intro la seconda! |
[07 12 09] |
Hello, hello! This is Angela again (player of orientalista, CDJ trashpileodoom, angel below tide, anmwhalen@gmail.com), with character #2!
THIS is Guido Filipepi (22 year old, 2nd year TEACUP kid), and no, you may not make fun of his name. Okay, well, you may. But he won't like it. And you might want to not piss him off too much, as Guido is a trained assassin. He hales from Italy, was born in a small village outside of Rome, but his family never stayed in one town for very long. That is because the Filipepi family was a gang of circus performers, who played cellos and shot moving targets for show. They were also assassins working for the unstable Italian government, and Guido takes after them in every respect. That is to say, he plays a mean cello, and when his fancy pants cello (named Maria della Fiore) transforms into a rifle, his aim is better than Annie Oakley's.
Guido's had a bit of a rough and tumble life, traveling with the circus, killing nationalists, until his baby sister was eventually killed, and the family was chased out of Italy. After that, they joined Europe's Barnum & Bailey's Greatest Show on Earth, where Guido was discovered by TEACUP scouts. And now he's here, while his parents are still traveling the continent as duo of sharpshooting cellists.
Guido's a nice guy, mostly. He was raised in the circus, so his manners aren't exactly top-notch, but he's also a natural showman and a pretty fun dude. Of course, he's a little mysterious, and doesn't trust any of you, ESPECIALLY if you're Italian. He is likely to be found in some corner, playing a sweet, English melody on his cello (he does not play la tarantella in public anymore), or cooking/eating some crazy huge plate of pasta.
Friends, enemies, etc. Give Guido your love, please. <3

Last night, Kit was bored. So he lined some of the communal tea pots with a tonic of his making. It's a relatively painless potion. It causes your hair to turn purple indoors but pink when you go outside. There are some side effects that may effect some people but not all. These include, pink eyes, pink fingernails, hiccoughs, and stuttering.
This is a volunteer basis so it will only affect your character if you want it to! Have fun! Especially the detective types!

| INTRODUCTION: JULIE! |
[07 12 09] |
ahhhhh I would have done this earlier, but a wedding totally ate up my weekend. But hello helloooo, Steamtrek! My name is Julie, and I come bringing a 22-year-old fourth-year Hungarian cryptologist, Erzsébet László. For ease of reference, you may simply call her Erzsi.
She's the daughter of a reknowned travelling magician ("Lazarus the Great!"), who may or may not have his thumb on some real honest-to-god occultism. Erzsi grew up a little spoiled and a lot separated from her peers; years of being in TEACUP have mellowed her out, but she's still very calm and aloof, regal, and somewhat snobbish. She has an ethereal calm about her, so she works very well as a contrast to louder types, though she'll mostly gravitate towards other quiet souls with refined tastes. You will find her in the library a lot. Erzsi loves codes and puzzles, and more specifically, breaking them: if you're into either cryptology or occultism, trust, she will be intrigued. She is also so a member of the wine & Hungarian clubs.
I don't have much in the way of pre-set plot, so please: dynamics! Offer them to me! Pretty much anything can work, honestly, in the way of like-minded friendships/odd couple friendships/seething dislikes, whatevs.
I'll catch up on your other introductions & posts & plot later, but omg comments here would make my day. :x I'll need to run extra-fast to catch up to this bandwagon. ♥ In the meantime, you can also add my CDJ ( chthonian) or AIM (jyuulii). And we can talk shop. Or just shoot the shit, it's up to you. :*

LATER IS BETTER THAN NEVER?
So um, I'm a little slow on the uptake here, got caught up in some heavy work schedules and what not. I'm Alex, a few of you know me, and I'm bringing you one of two (number dos will come a little later).
This gent is Hans Toft, he's Danish and he's a bit of an oddball. You see, he talks to animals, and animals talk back. Not in the whole "CHIRP CHIRP CHIRP? CHIIIIIRP?" method you see here, but more of a "His patterns of movement designate" way... and I'm totally bullshitting. He chirps and squawks and talks to them. Like straight up, "SUP MR CAT" attitude. I just noticed the video I linked is in Norweigan, bahahaha. Anyway, Hans is kind of a creeper and doesn't really get the idea of social norms and will say what he's thinking. There's no filter. Grew up in a large city, was a social outcast, joined the local volunteer guard because he couldn't afford university, got kicked out of that after telling a rich dude he was cheating on his wife---a little bird told him, seriously---and was found out that way.
The second one is a Finnish lad by the name of Lauri who is an aeronautical engineer, which is MASSIVE to type out, whoa, but a good fun loving person. Always smiling. Not at all creepy. Totally loves gossip and doesn't mind hanging out with the girls or the guys. He's kind of 12 internally. He makes more :D faces than :( faces. Lauri's dad helped with the whole zeplin shit so despite having his own internal legacy he's not at all pressured. Already did a tour across Europe and crash landed in a forest, he's swam in the sea and eaten oranges in the sky. Total WORLD IS MY OYSTER AND YOU ARE MY LEMON outlook.
And you can find me at many sources, AIM: fatty skeleton, ij ( actone) and email (tinylittlefractures@gmail.com) since it all goes right to my phone. My online time tends to vary significantly but I'm always reachable by email. Watch for me tagging intro posts through the next couple days.
