Obi-Wan set down his datapad when Anakin entered the tent, watching as his partner pushed back his hood and shook out what rain had reached his now shaggy hair. With no more than a nod, Anakin went to the table that sat between their cots and spread out the map he'd carried under one arm. He traced the line of their opponent's defenses with a finger, finally tapping a spot between two mountain ridges.
"Here," Anakin said, his grin feral. "They would never expect it."
Obi-Wan rose. He set his hand beside Anakin's, narrowing his eyes to peer down at the map. His reading glasses had been lost earlier that morning, knocked to the floor of the tent in an unexpected rush. With Anakin's mouth pressed to his, he had not stopped to find them. He had not stopped to think then either, to wonder exactly when this had become appropriate or wanted. At sixteen, at twenty? Obi-Wan drew a breath and realized he could still smell himself on Anakin, despite the deluge.
Obi-Wan's jaw worked. Did it matter when it had happened? Anakin was a man now. He could see that plainly, even if he had not yet found his glasses.
Anakin nudged him. "So what do you think? Is this the chink in the armor?"
"Yes." Obi-Wan brushed Anakin's knuckles with his fingertips before lifting his hand away from the map. "Let us exploit it while it lasts."
