Hello all!

I'm Christopher, or Chris (either one). This is my first Trek game ever; I don't have much experience in the Trek world except with the JJ Abrams film and some of TNG. I've recently watched the first few episodes of TOS, and I'm hoping to finish it.

This is LT. JG Ethan Bennett, the man nurse with a troubled past. He's cautious at first but once he feels comfortable, he's a very loyal and nice guy. If there's anyone who wants to backstory, you can get me at crazycaliboy286 on AIM; I'm on there most of the day.

Hope to hear from you all!

Hello there~! I'm Loi and this is my first Star Trek RP. o_o So I brought along a Vulcan.

Say hi to Senar, your onboard Cyberneticist! He enjoys staring computer screens for long hours, toiling over intricate chipsets, and salad. Coincidentally, the Odyssey is his first starship assignment, and if he were anyone else he'd probably be pretty excited.

You can find more information on the two of us [HERE]! I look forward to meeting everyone and getting things started. \o/

Hello everyone! I'm Sar and this piece of work is Steren Allett, Lieutenant Junior Grade and Tactical Officer. She might seem like your typical ass kissing, brown nosing, suck up but that's just until her particular level of craziness is triggered. Steren is from Cornwall, plays the fiddle, and has been bounced from ship to ship due to some of her scarier personality traits. She's hoping to find a home(and Starfleet's hoping to find her some stabilization or at least get her the heck away from them for a LONG time) on board the Odyssey and I expect she'll be interacting with all of you very soon!

Full information on Steren can be foundhere I'm looking forward to playing with all of you!

Edit: for HTML fail.

Son of Edit: I also have a new medical researcher for you people to play with! Topher Hansen is brilliant, dedicated and possibly the galaxy's biggest dork. Topher is half human/half Risian and he loves to make fun of his insane biology. He also tells me that he wants to hold meetings for the mixed race crew, and adds that "We can start our own CLUB!" Further information on HIM can be found overhere

Hi, I'm Crys and this is Natalia T'thar, though she prefers going by Nali. This is her first assignment out of post Acadamy training and she is very excited/nervous about it. All of her information can be found here. Although to sum it all up she's a half-Andorian astrobiologist, with the curious nature and passion of a human and the stubborn, hot-tempered (not quite war-like) demeanor of the Andorians. She does not want to talk about whether or not she has antennae under that hair of hers and she has a wee little problem with her attitude, though jocular she can be quite snarky.

Me, well, I've been RPing for a while but this is my first startrek game and I too am excited/nervous. I'm looking forward to meeting/RPing with you all and can be reached on gmail at Glamourbound or on AIM at Kaimelarelle.

Happy Gaming,

Crys

Hi, I'm Erika, and I'm bringing with me the ship's warp core engineer, Raisa Moirran. Because the ship totally needs a punning Betazoid techie. Hopefully the puns won't be too groan-worthy and scare people off. If you want to check out her info, it's right here.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to playing with everyone!  I'm not too familiar with journal communities, so please bear with me if I do something wrong.  If anyone needs to get a hold of me, drop me a line on AIM at inkblotmeringue.  It's good to meet you all!  :3

I might be a bit scarce for the next few days... mini family vacation kind of thing, but I'll try to get on as much as possible.  Sorry about it, it's awfully lame timing, I know.

this is ben, and i bring you Sebastian Caine, Chief of Security. His info (and mine) is here

He's rather anal about his work, and he can come across as a little obsessive, but he claims all of this makes him good at his job. outside of work he's a guy's guy, personable and friendly, a joker, even. When he's on the job, however, he's completely by the book. Or he'll try. He knows that in a real life security hazard situation rules may have to be bent, but in the meantime, everyone on board must adhere to regulation.

boy, he's a harda$$, this one, lol. it'll be fun.

Greetings, gamepals! I'm Mochi, bringing you your new ship surgeon, Lihana Jall! Fear not, for she is a professional, and has never accidentally sewn any sponges, scalpels, or other foreign objects into a patient during a surgery. Please be nice to her! She's a joined Trill who has had three previous hosts, so don't take it personally if she ever shakes her cane at you and demands that you dang kids get off her lawn, 'kay?

Just kidding, but seriously, I'm really looking forward to playing with you all. Character info can be found here. Oh, and the term "gown dance" refers to how surgeons have to spin around a few times to get their gowns on properly before a surgery. Fun!

If you want to contact me, I'm on aim at "mochihearts" most all the time. I hope to hear from you all soon! :D

Hey everyone, I'm Sondre and I bring you your Chief Engineer Aaron O'Connor! He was born on a ship, raised on a ship, and will probably die on a ship. He's never been land-bound for more than a couple of months, so being so close to Earth while waiting for Odyssey to take off is exciting for him (he hopes he can sneak away for a bit when the other Engineering officers come in.) After his home was destroyed (USS Parsons, a small Scout ship) almost a decade ago, he's worked on every other kind of ship imaginable. However, he still finds USS Odyssey absolutely amazing ("A ship this size surpassing Warp 9?!")

He's a light-hearted guy, slightly scatter-brained, and awkward when he realizes somebody wants to be more than friends. He probably knows the anatomy of any given starship better than his own body.

Aaron likes working with his hands, old science fiction (it makes him laugh), and roleplaying as pirates on the holodeck.

Anyway, I'll be busy for the next few weeks (days), but weekends I should be available. Afterwards, I get a summer again! :)

eta: It'd probably be helpful if I left contact info, huh? You can contact me on aim @ [soggysodsod] ! :]

Good day! I'm Jenny and I'm a RP-aholic. Glad to be here and excited about getting into the game. I'll be bringing you Cindle Bellwether, civilian and bartender extraordinaire. She is one of a set of half-human and half-Elasian twins born to absentee diplomat types.

If you know your TOS, Elasian women have tears that enslave any man who touches them. Her half-human genetics preclude that being a life-long enslavement; it's only mere minutes. And Cin hasn't cried in years.

She's a collector of dictionaries and a listener of tales. She'll give you advice whether you asked for it or not. All wrapped up in a very friendly manner.

Hello! Nice to meet all of you. My name is Lex, and this is T'Vraeya Dalzen. She's half-Betazoid and half-Vulcan and has spent more than half of her life on a ship of some sort (her parents met while serving on a research ship in Starfleet).

T'Vraeya is the Assistant Chief Medical Officer. She's an outgoing person who is honest to the point of being very blunt. She has a competitive streak and enjoys both strategy games and competitive one on one sports (though she's far better at the strategy games). She can be friendly but she's by no means a party girl - she likes to be in control of herself and she is committed to being a professional.

Hey, everyone! It seems there's only a couple of us thus far, but that's still cool! I'm Jayden, and I'm super excited to be here! I'm a newbie Trekkie, but it's such a great fandom to be part of! I watched some Star Trek as a wee child when they played reruns on some channel or another. I'm 19, undergraduate earning my BA in Theatre Production. I don't act. It frightens me. I build the costumes, occasionally they have me work on scenic painting.

Anyway~ I bring you Leon P'rranka! He is your 1/2 Caitian-1/2 Human (we think) maintenance engineer. He's a pretty handy guy most of the time, so don't feel afraid to ask him to fix something for you. He's also a goofball so all serious-type character, beware, he may get on your nerves! Leo makes a ton of faces and is very dramatic, trying only his hardest to be a lovable kind of dude.

I can't wait to play with you guys! Lets start this!

This is your captain speaking...

I'm Rob and I'll be writing the captain (this journal). About Capt. Gideon Mason, following in Beck's footsteps:

- is 36 years old
- was born in New Berlin, Luna (moon of Earth)
- is Israeli/French
- is a Scorpio
- is slightly afraid of his First Officer
- thinks his ship is far too large
- is a war veteran
- has a co-dependent relationship with his counselor ([info]counselor_dave)

As for me, I'm just a nerd. More specifically, a 25-year-old pizza guy, married to Beck (the Dave to my Gideon) and a childhood friend of the moderator and fellow Trekkie. I also have a crippling pr0n addiction. See you out there!

about me
H'lo, my name is Beck(y), and I'm an RPG addict. Jaykay. No really. I've been at it for over a decade now and spanned many fandoms. This will be my first Star Trek game, however. I'm 24, for the record, married to the captain Rob ([info]captain_mason) and BFFs with Dan (le founder). They wrangled me into this, so here I am. I'll be playing the Assistant Chief Engineer and the ship's counselor. See below for more.

about my characters
[info]lt_gaia - Lieutenant Gaia Callahan, Assitant Chief Engineer. She's British, spunky, 26 years old, biracial (Afro-Caucasian), single, a Gemini, her parents are aboard the ship, and finally, she's super into holographs.

[info]counselor_dave - Lieutenant-Commander David Long, ship's counselor. He's from San Fransisco, is a bit neurotic, is 29 years old, also biracial (Chinese-Caucasian), single, a Libra, left his family at home (thank god!) and spends most of his free time (and working time) with Gideon (Captain Mason).

[info]big_guns - Lieutenant Gerard Godana, one of the tactical officers. He is a widower, has two teenagers and pretty well keeps to himself.

That's enough jibber-jabber from me (and parenthesis). Solid.

ranul
[Tags|, ]

When First Contact was first released there were rumors floating around that one of the characters, Lieutenant Hawk, was meant to be Star Trek's first gay character. Paramount denied that this was the case, but whether or not it was meant to be, the writing partners Andy Mangels and Michael Martin took the idea and ran with it when they wrote the book Rogue for the Section 31 series. The book takes place 6 months before First Contact and Hawk (given the name Sean Liam) plays an important role in the plot. He also has a boyfriend of two years, Ranul.

I kind of latched onto the idea of Hawk being gay when I first heard about it, and when Dan decided he wanted to make a Star Trek game, I convinced him to let me play Ranul. As far as I knew at the time, Hawk was the first gay character in the extended universe literature (which turned out to be false. In fact there is a large population of queer characters in the books) and Ranul seemed to have been created especially for me since the Trill are my favorite Federation race.

I started role playing with Star Trek games way back in 1997 (PBeM represent, yo!). In that community, canon characters of any kind are strictly forbidden and it's generally frowned upon for the character you play to personally know any of the major series characters at all, so Ranul is a major departure for me. Not only did he serve on the Enterprise-E, but shares a war-forged bond with Picard and can call Ezri Dax a close friend (These details come from Rogue and the second book he appears in, Unjoined).

Welcome to the Star Trek: Beta Quadrant RPG. In this community please feel free to introduce yourself and your character(s). You can also use this community as a forum to share ideas, concerns, and questions regarding the game. The planned starting date is July 1st, 2009.

As a short note about me, I've been a trekkie since I was kid. I decided to create this game in hopes of uniting people just like me on a community that doesn't have many Trek RPGs. I was inspired by the latest movie, but have great attachment to the more modern universe and wanted to move toward the future. Through my own inspiration and some help and guidance from my friends, it's taken a lot of my free time to create this game. Even more improvements are on there way! Be respectful and creative, but most importantly I want everyone to enjoy themselves.

"If you can't take a little bloody nose, maybe you ought
to go back home and crawl under your bed. It's not safe out
here. It's wondrous - with treasures to satiate desires both
subtle and gross. But it's not for the timid."
