| About: | Ever sit down in front of the computer and want to read a good Stargate fic but not know where to start? I know I have... repeatedly. The purpose of this comm is to recommend Stargate fics that are worthwhile reading. This is a Stargate: SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis comm where everyone, every taste, is included. Ship, Slash, Gen... all types of Stargate fic is rec'ced here! We're just starting out here. Mostly saving the name of the comm for when/if we need it. For now, I would like to direct you to Stargateficrec on Livejournal It's a very active, fun community we've built over there. If membership grows here, we would be happy to try to duplicate its success. Main Areas Available For Rec'cing Are: Categories are for both SG-1 and Atlantis Characters Friendship Genre Pairings (Het and Slash) A Rec Should Be Posted As Follows: Subject: Title by Author's Name (Rating) Rec Category: ie: Character Name, Genre Type, Pairing Names Pairing: (no abbreviations please) Category: ie: H/C, Daniel, Atlantis, etc Warning: ie: Het, Slash, Character Death (This is a must!) Author on IJ: Author's Website: Link: Why This Must Be Read: Posting access will be given to those who volunteer to rec fics. Volunteer To Be A Rec'er The term for each rec'cer will be a month. No rec'cer will be carried over to the next month unless there are no new volunteers and the returning rec'cer volunteers to do so. Rec'cers are asked to post at least four recs a month. You can rec for up to three categories regardless of what area they are in. Fics that have been recommended will be added to the memories under the category they were rec'ced. When rec'cing, please check the memories before making your rec. (Just to make sure it hasn't been recommended before.) Also, some fics fit into more than one category. It will be saved in only the category in which it is rec'ced. Recs are now being tagged as well. Tags are added according to only the categories that the rec'cer lists. If you sign up to rec for a category, there are banners that you can put on your userpage.    (A BIG, SPECIAL "thank you" to "noafterglow" on Live Journal for making the banners for us!)
