PERCEPTION
"I hate parties," Severus Snape said, grumbling, as he straightened the fronts of his black velvet dress robes. "Yes, I know that you do," Hermione said in a soothing voice, "but you're a decorated war hero and the Ministry has specifically asked us to be there." "You can go without me," he growled. "I could, but I am not going to," she said, adjusting one sleeve of her long dark green gown. "Besides, you might actually enjoy this one." "That's extremely doubtful," her spouse said darkly. "Where is it?" "You'll see." She wrapped an arm around his waist and there was a sharp crack! as they Apparated. They arrived in the foyer of a glittering hall filled with light, the soft murmur of well-bred voices, and a scintillating collection of perfectly-dressed elegant people. As they made their way into the main room, Severus noticed that a bevy of lovely young witches were clustered around some tall wizards who were dressed in billowing white robes. To a man, the wizards were sallow-skinned, hook-nosed, and had black eyes and black brows. Presumably they also had black hair, but that was hidden by flowing head-scarves anchored with round circlets of wrapped cords. In short, they looked like Severus Snape in white. The witches were practically drooling over them. The Potions Master stared for a moment and then turned to Hermione. "Where are we?" "The Arab Magic Legation," his wife said with smirk and handed him a cup of fruit punch.
