While the idea of extra income in the household was something he was far from opposed to, he really didn't like the way she put it. Still, he knew he couldn't tell her no. She really didn't have to stay and she shouldn't have been living with him to begin with. She didn't need his permission to go out and try and find a job. Or to move out on top of that. He couldn't keep her from just leaving when he left to work and ending up like she was before if he continued refusing to let her do anything, too.
"Fine," the man finally nodded, as indifferent as his tone may have been. His eyes briefly glanced down at her feet, remembering why she hadn't really ventured out again yet. It hadn't really been a priority of his, but obviously she was feeling restless. "I'll find shoes for you tomorrow. But if you do something stupid and lose them, too, I'm not going to help you find more!"
