Had it been any other time he would've considered dragging her to the police to teach her a lesson out of spite. However, he knew all too well that they didn't exactly let people sleep and eat in jail for long any more before the guillotined had them. There were only so many options of what to do with her though. "It was a mistake." It would've been better to throw her out again, but part of him knew that he didn't want her to leave. At least not just yet. He wouldn't even admit to himself that he had missed her, too, so instead he convinced himself that he didn't want to be the one responsible for her freezing to death somewhere. Her leaving in daylight while looking like she did was out of the question.
"But you can't leave now." Michel didn't have a way or a reason to keep her there, but he was still determined to do so anyway. Unless she was just as stubborn as he was, he doubted she'd want to willingly trudge back into the cold so soon anyway. He rolled his eye and turned from her momentarily to search his cabinets. Thanks to his recent work he had managed to purchase a few meager groceries. It wasn't much at all, but it was better than what he usually had on hand. He pulled out an apple. Though it was probably a bit tart for the time of year, it was still an apple. He walked over and dropped it in her lap. "Be quiet and eat that." Without saying anything else, he finally decided to go start a fire.
