Who: Mabelle and Michel What: Eye see what you did there. Oh wait. When: New Year's Where: On the way to/his apartment
It had been terrible. Truly terrible. Michel had gotten prepared. He had even spent a bit of his own money to find a suitable dress for her to wear. The whole thing was intended to spite his uncle. However, when he had seen Mobius that even, he didn't seemed bothered by anything at all. Just amused. As always. It drove Michel crazy how no matter what he did, it all seemed according to the other man's plan. It was getting exhausting. Well, no, it wasn't just getting exhausting. It was exhausting.
The only thing that had made him feel better was the free food and wine. Especially the wine. If he couldn't spite his uncle by happily brining Mabelle along with him, then he'd get back at him by taking advantage of his free beverages. Michel was a man of tall stature, so he could handle his drinks well. However, even he had his limits. He never kept track of exactly how many glasses he had, but it was after he drank about a bottle's worth that he really felt a bit tipsy. Then he just resorted to shoving glasses at Mabelle as well.
The night hadn't really dragged on that way. That was something he considered a plus. There was no way to duck out before midnight, but somehow he had managed to stick around with her until the very end, acting as if nothing bothered him. He knew that Mobius knew it, though. And he knew that Mobius knew that he knew. Conversations with others were mainly dull, so he did enjoy having Mabelle as an excuse to exit conversations when they got too long. Even if that meant occasionally leaving her there with the person while he freshened their drinks.
One conversation blurred into another though. Somehow their leaving meant that she was walking home with him to get sheet music for her. It must've been regarding whatever music someone else was playing while there, he wasn't sure. However, as he was still a bit not-sober, he didn't particularly mind the company walking home. Not at all because he was worried about getting mugged so much as it was just nice to have someone there for a change.
"I never thought that Dubois would stop talking. He went on for at least an hour," he mumbled to her as soon as it seemed they were far enough away from Mobius's home.
