"This morning. He said 'when you see Michel tonight' to let you know he expected you to be there," she gave a fairly accurate impression of Mobius' tone, including the subtly devious intent that she hadn't missed. After how he responded to the obvious tension of the situation before, Mabelle had no doubts he knew that Michel wouldn't be so pleased. But it really didn't leave her with a lot of options, because failing to pass on the invitation would lead to at least as much irritation when Michel inevitably found out.
"Actually, I don't know how he knew I'd see you tonight," she admitted with a shrug and another sip of tea, keeping her tone unwaveringly calm. It hadn't jumped out at her as unusual at the time, but the strangeness of it struck her now. While it was possible she was wrong, Michel probably wasn't the one to tell Mobius about their lessons. Gossip of course was rampant, but she hardly thought their time together would be of any interest. "Oh. And he said you have to bring me as well," she delivered the final blow.
