"That's not quite it," he corrected, but as she laughed, he managed to put a smile on his face as well. Seemed less suspicious that way. However, he let her continue from there. As confused as he was, it was at least interesting trying to fit her comments together in a logical sense. And she was awfully good at insulting herself when she wanted to. Still, Michel wasn't quite expecting everything she had to say.
Had he a drink he might've choked on that one, but thankfully he did not. He maintained his composure and merely tilted his head to the side. "Has that self-respect of yours disappeared that quickly then? You seemed much more keen to sleep out on the streets before." He was making the most immediate assumption about her that she was giving him. Her flirtations amongst everything else would've made sense then... again, if one could call them that in the first place. He looked away to glance around for a moment before turning back to the painting. "That's a bit disappointing."
