Maria DeLuca & Jake Green
and later Michael Guerin and Liz Ortecho
What: Jake's giving Maria a tour of the city
Where: In town/back at the Ostrich Villa
When: After Maria's arrival
Warnings: Violence in the second phase
Ever since his room mates left, Jake had been enjoying the peace and quiet of his private quarters. He rarely left the apartment if he didn't have to, because the quiet was a nice change of pace. He browsed the network almost daily, but didn't even bother to talk to many people. He was trying to be something of a hermit right, but it was getting old. He was growing bored and restless with it. He was a man of action, and sitting around doing nothing might be nice for a little while, but after a few weeks, it was starting to feel oppressive. He needed to get out, meet people, do something worth doing.

He'd seen Maria's message, and it was clear she was a new arrival. That seemed a good place to start. It turned out she had friends in town already, but he had already reached out when he realised that. He'd offered to show her around town. She'd agreed, despite having friends who could probably give her the grand tour. He didn't question why, he was just glad to have a real reason to leave the apartment.

Early Evening: Jake and Maria

Dressed in a t-shirt and jeans, Jake headed down to the lobby to wait for Maria. He was pretty sure he'd recognise her on sight. She'd be the one looking a bit lost, and looking for someone. Newbies had a certain aura about them, he supposed. He was counting on it at least, since he didn't really know what Maria looked like.

He leaned against the wall by the doors, but out of the way, so he wouldn't seem like a creeper waiting for someone to prey on. He no desire to wig anyone out. He glanced at his watch a few times, just to reinforce the image that he was waiting for someone. Hopefully she wouldn't be a no show.

Later: Maria, Jake, Liz, and Michael

Jake was feeling pretty good about things. He'd made the right choice, coming out of his room and actually venturing out into the world. He liked Maria, they'd had a good time together. And as they headed back to the villa, he intended to be a perfect gentleman.

He agreed to walk her to her door. He hovered back as she opened it, uncertain if he should walk away or if she might invite him in. He was good with either, but didn't want to assume one way or the other.

Inside, Liz and Michael were watching a movie in the living room that they took twenty minutes to decide on. While they may be friends, they were not the kind of friends ( and now roommates ) that got along all the time. They were alike and different at the same time in their personalities, which made them clash. Sometimes it was over big things, other times over little things. Tonight it was over the movie they were going to watch. Eventually, they found one they both liked and relaxed, enjoying each other's company as sat down to watch it with beer, acetone and popcorn.
