I was wondering if anyone knew of a book that has a complete list of plants and herbs that are used in all types of rituals and didn't cater to just one religion/belief? I've never found one and I really would like to get my hands on one.

As it's been awfully quiet here lately and I'm not too fond of quiet (well, I don't mind it in RL, but in communities it's rather annoying), I figured I'd ask the expected "What is everyone doing for Yule?" question. :)

I, myself, had planned on a small family and friends dinner, along with trimming the tree. Alas, a pair of those friends (after being invited by me) decided to have a family and friends dinner of their own -- on the very same day. Ironically I was excluded from their guest list. :P

So... it'll be just me and the boys for Yule, enjoying a downsized feast and tree-trimming. I have loaded up my Sansa with a variety of holiday tunes to assault our ears with. Unfortunately Rhapsody is full of fail when it comes to "demented" holiday music so I had to focus on stuff I grew up with, instead (Ray Conniff FTW! Whoo hoo!). I did manage to get two Weird Al songs, though. If anyone can think of any holiday favorites, feel free to share. I've still got a little under two weeks and a gig of space to fill.

A question for the expert tarot readers here. Does anyone have any suggestions/sources for simple tarot spreads? Specifically I'm looking for a spread that I can use to gain (useful and easy to remember) insight to problems, as well as one to get an idea of the day ahead.

Well, I created this community so I might as well do something with it. :)

Seriously. What with color guard, NaNo, preparations for a Yule family gathering, and the seasonal craft fairs, I've been busy, busy, busy! So, my apologies for not writing an intro post back when I created the comm.

Anyway, I'm Babs (AKA babspace, Crystal Unicorn, and The Wicked Pissa Witch of the East). I am a solitary practicing witch of the Seax-Wica (with one "c") tradition. I have three boys (my husband, included), two cats, and a hamster... and a mostly gay harem of muses known as the Bishi Harem.

I seem to suffer from Mrs. Robinson Syndrome. *sheepish grin*

I like to write, but haven't been able to create anything readable for years. Maybe this NaNo I'll get lucky. I also enjoy a handful of anime, including the original Speed Racer, Gundam Wing, GetBackers, Rurouni Kenshin, and Yu-Gi-Oh!, though I tend to favor the manga versions, then the fansubs, over the generally wussified American dubs. That said, I'm also a VA fangirl and have gotten rather proficient in identifying my favorite American/Canadian voice actors in their various projects. :)

Oh, and did I mention that I'm reliving the '80s?
