Who: Cho Chang & Cormac McLaggen (Open to guests) When: Friday, July 21st – 1:00 PM Where: Ministry of Magic – Department of Records What: A small, Ministry wedding. Warnings: Overly exuberant Cormac Rating: Low
It had been a week and a half since Cormac proposed. Just a week and a half since their first date had ended with a promise to be together forever and, to be honest, Cho was still reeling from it all. Getting married so suddenly was unlike her. She liked planning and order, but Cormac had done what many men had attempted. He’d gotten her to smile. It helped, of course, that he was a tremendously attractive and talented Quidditch player. Everyone knew that Cho had a certain type. But Cormac was more than some idiot Keeper. He had the ability to feel which was amazing enough to Cho, but he was also capable of expressing those feelings. For someone as closed off as Cho, that was a beautiful thing to witness.
And any person who could propose marriage so suddenly and mean it… clearly he was mad about her.
They’d agreed to meet at the fountain of the Ministry at fifteen till and Cho had worried he wasn’t going to come. What if he came to his senses? She knew how her friends were reacting and imagined his were just as bad. She had to have faith in how he felt about her. And the moment she saw him walk up to her, Cho’s face broke into a grin that hurt her cheeks.
The small office were weddings were held wasn’t particularly impressive. Like most of the Ministry it had stone floors and dark walls, though they’d attempted to spruce it up a bit with white curtains and some floating lanterns. It wasn’t the ornate ceremony they might have had with some planning, but it felt right. His mother, Rebecca and Simon, along with the family cat Cormac had insisted on bringing were waiting on one side of the room. Marietta was on the other and Cho tried not to think about how lacking her family was. She pushed away the twinge of pain she felt that Anthony had told her off, now wasn’t the time to think about that.
Cho forced every negative thought out of her head and focused on the man holding her hand. From that point forward, it was going to be her and Cormac side by side. Just before they approached the Wizengamot member waiting to marry them, Cho stopped Cormac and leaned up to whisper to him.
"Are you sure? I’ll understand if you’ve changed your mind."
