A few people asked if [info]twilightsorcery and I were planning to start up a comm (as we did after Sectus) to help people connect with fellow Terminus attendees -- you know, the people whose faces you can remember but whose LJ names are a complete mystery.

After Tonight's Meetup...(10 pm)

For those who can't make it to the dinner tonight or who want to continue the fun, we'll be hanging out across the street from the Hilton Chicago at about 10 pm tonight. There is a courtyard and a fountain almost directly across the main entrance of the hotel (across the street) on Michigan Ave. Hope to see you there!

INFO re: CAF RIVER CRUISE

Here are directions from hotel to the CAF dock, via public transit. You can take the #6 Jackson Park Express bus from the Michigan/Balboa station, which you can see from the map is quite close to the hotel, to the CAF dock (last stop). Here is the #6 bus schedule. You can also walk there in about 25 mins (according to googlemaps).

For those of us going on the Saturday 5:30 pm CAF cruise, unless there are any objections, let's plan to meet at 4:45 at the clock near the main entrance off Michigan Avenue of the hotel, to catch the 4:50 bus. I assume the buses run on time; the bus ride is about 10 mins; that way we'll be able to get to the dock 15 mins beforehand even if we miss a bus or end up walking.

DINNER INFORMATION

If you'd like to be added to the sign-up list, please comment here (or on the sign-up list post) by this Thursday, July 31, so that I can provide Edwardo's with the final headcount. We are on a pre-set meal plan (food selections have already been made, with some folks' special dietary needs accounted for--please comment if you haven't done so previously) and the cost will be $20 per person, with payment to be made at the door. We'll be at the Edwardo's that's within (reasonable) walking distance:

Please remember the dinner starts promptly on Friday at 7:30 pm; we only have the restaurant for 2 hours so please make every effort to be right on time! I understand some folks may be coming from the general slash meetup (at 5:30 on Friday). For those who'd like to leave as a group from the hotel, please meet by the clock near the main entrance off Michigan Avenue of Hilton Chicago Hotel at 7 pm; we will leave at around 7:10 pm.

If you have any contributions to either the goodie bags or the free raffle for door prizes that you haven't mentioned on this comm or to me ([info]dracofiend), [info]aliciamasters or [info]djin7 yet, please comment! We are putting the goodie bags together on Thursday from 4-6 pm in my hotel room; I'll be getting in Wednesday around 4ish and Alicia will be getting late on Wed night. I'll be posting the room location on Wednesday after I check in; if you could track us down before or during 4-6 on Thursday to provide us with your contribution(s), we'll be able to put them into the bags! We can also add items later on Thurs or Fri during the day, but we'd like to have the bags complete as possible by 6 pm Thurs. For door prizes, feel free to give them to us beforehand or bring them to the restaurant on Friday.

FYI: Snaco @ Terminus?

I'm contemplating getting some of the Snaco shippers together during Terminus, too.

Two main suggestions for when have emerged:
- breaking off after the Snarry gathering and heading to the hotel bar
- Saturday 12 noon for lunch (place TBD but not far since there are 2pm panels to get to)

Boat Tour Plans!

It seems that the Architectural River Cruise put on by the Chicago Architectural Foundation is the most highly recommended boat tour (according to yelp and similar sources!). The tours are 90 minutes and cost $30 (plus a $5.75 "convenience" charge if purchased from Ticketmaster). Take a look here for more info on the tours (including where they meet), and here to buy tickets online.

I think it'd be easiest for everyone to buy their own tickets (you can buy them on-site on the day of the tour, but they might be sold out) and for us to try to agree on a time so we can go together. :) From the previous poll, it looks like Saturday or Sunday at 5:30 would be the best two options (the last tour leaves at 5:30 and they ask you to arrive about 20 mins beforehand). Official Sign Up List - Snarry Meetup

Wow you guys, Terminus is almost here! Thanks to everyone who’s been helping to get treats ready for us! For our meetup, below is our official sign-up list (compiled from the previous poll)—if you’re planning on being there, please make sure you (and any guests you signed up for) are on it! If you’d like to be added to the list, please comment. And let your Snarry friends going to Terminus know to sign up too, if they haven’t, so that we can make sure to accommodate everyone who wants to go (and maybe adjust the cost per person downward too!).

At Edwardo's, we'll be on a meal package that includes soft drinks, breadsticks, salad, a variety of stuffed pizzas and cookies. There will also be a cash bar. Goodie bag contributions

I really need to buckle down, and start planning these. What I'd love to do is plan a little more so I don't completely freak out think we have too little this year.

Last year was an embarrassment of riches, and I'm hoping we can show those other slashers how Snarry fen do things!!!

I'm going to screen comments, so that the goodies will be a surprise to all but those planning the event. If there are two contributions that are the same, I'll email you directly. I will not do that if there's no issue; ie, two buttons.

Please let us know a description of what you'd like to contribute, how many you'll be bringing, and your email. We had 70 at Prophecy, so I'm guessing we will need 100 items, but if you are bringing fewer, we will alternate with an equivalent gift. No worries!

Thanks to all who contribute! I must say that [info]accioslash was MVP last year, so I hope we have some crafty folks!
