Disclaimers: Severus Snape and Harry Potter are not mine (though I wish they were so I could have my wicked way with them). They belong to that lovely lady, JKR, who created them. I am just playing with them in order to create some delicious piece of work. Authors Note: This is my first complete Snarry written all by myself. I would love to thank my wonderful sis, kelkatan, who did such a great beta job on this piece of work and who put up with me. Any other mistakes, I will gladly take the blame.
It was a slow day. The sun was shining and the streets were busy with cars. Sidewalks were littered with people going about their business. Children played in the park across the street. Despite the busyness outside, the tavern was dead inside. The bartender and the cook leaned against the bar beside an elderly man wearing a brown trench coat that had seen better days, nursing a shot of tequila in his hands while the only waiter stared out the window, wishing desperately that he could join the rest of the world in its hustle.
Emerald green eyes glazed over with thoughts of a few years earlier. His school years, hectic with fighting a war, meeting people, making new allies, and losing his beloved best friends, were part of what made him decide to leave that world behind. The magic was lost to him, Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived, when the one person he grew to care about most turned him down, claiming that the boy only wanted to live in the moment before realizing his mistake and pushing his supposed intended to the side.
Despite the hurt that the callous words had caused Harry several years ago, he feared it was the truth. The man, Professor Severus Snape, knew Harry well enough to know the truth behind Harry’s pursuits. Sure, the rejection stung but the better part of him was sure that Severus was protecting both himself and Harry. That had always been the case between them once they got passed their differences and began working together. The precious time they spent working together only made Harry fall for the man, and he fell VERY hard.
Frustrated to no end, Harry dropped his head into his hands, rubbing his palms against his eyes. Despite the eight years that had passed since the day Severus turned him away, Harry still cared for him. He cared so much that he often dreamt of the tall, dark, mysterious man, what he was doing, and how he could have approached him differently. He thought about how wonderful it would feel to be held in those strong arms, those nearly onyx eyes penetrating his own, in a gaze so powerful it would make him weak in the knees just to know someone such as Severus Snape loved him in return. As much as he wished that were the case, Harry felt that he had zero chance of finding his love once again. ‘Severus has probably found himself a handsome bloke. A man who is just as charming, smart, and cunning as himself. He is probably happier than I could have ever made him.’
Groaning out his frustrations, Harry shook his head, tangling his work-rough fingers through his black hair. He had removed the golden hair tie the moment he sat down and his hair hung loose down to the middle of his back. It had grown over the past several years and it was no longer the messy mop of hair that used to be so difficult to control. Just as his hair was different, so were his eyes. Since living in the Muggle world, a world without magic, Harry had learned of corrective eye surgery and took the risk of going through with it. He felt that was one of his better decisions and it made his life so much easier.
At least, easier in situations that had absolutely nothing to do with his non-existent love life. Sure, he had developed a few crushes on some men his age that he had met throughout his wanderings and in the tavern where he worked but none of those crushes ever amounted to anything. Whenever he would try speaking to any of the guys, he would freeze. Why? ‘Because you always go back to thinking about…and wanting…Severus Snape.’
‘I really must be losing it. My thoughts are all over the place.’ Harry half-smiled to himself, covering his mouth when he yawned before blinking sleepy eyes, wanting to get lost in a daydream of the man who haunted his life. Just as he was about to rest his chin on his arms, the chimes by the door rang to signal the arrival of customers. Harry did not jump to his feet. No. He only glanced lazily over his shoulder to see a tall man in a long charcoal gray jacket and a stylish black hat walk over to one of the booths in the back corner, far away from the door.
‘Hmph…he musta gotten tired of being out with that crazy crowd out on the street.’
Knowing he had to work, Harry stood up. He stretched his body slowly, enjoying the way his muscles appreciated the movement. He remained averaged-height; his body was still thin, lean and slightly muscular. He made it a habit to work out continuously since his departure of the magical world and it served him well. While he always received appreciative looks from customers and passers-by, he could never seem to get beyond any initial crush stage he may have developed.
Sighing, Harry picked up his notepad and a menu before walking towards the man at the booth. Just as he reached there, he spoke quietly, placing the menu on the table and flipping over the page in his notepad, his eyes never meeting the customer’s.
“Good afternoon, sir. My name is Harry and I’ll be your server. Could I start you off with something to…” Harry trailed off, stilling when he looked up and met the customer’s piercing, dark eyes.
“Severus…” His voice was soft, yet full of emotion. He shook his head, trying desperately to speak to the other man before he suddenly went cold and passed out, landing in a heap on the carpeted floor, emotions overloading his soul.
Though it felt like hours, it was only moments later Harry felt the presence of people surrounding him. He groaned softly, lifting his hand to his face and rubbing his eyes, trying to figure out what happened. ‘Oh yes… I remember… I was so lost in my thoughts that when I went to greet my customer I thought I saw Snape…this is going to be a long day...’
Pulling himself together, he slowly opened his eyes, allowing them to adjust to the light. Once focused, he looked up to see the cook and the bartender nod, leaving him in favor of watching whatever Muggle television show was on. However, there was someone left and his eyes immediately flicked over to the customer. A pained look crossed his face as he whispered, “Please tell me I am still dreaming?”
A deep voice, smooth as silk, responded quietly. “I am sorry to inform you, Mister Potter, that you are not, as you say, ‘still dreaming.’” A concerned look entered those dark eyes. “However, if my presence disturbs you so much that you must cause a scene, I should have listened to my better judgment and not set out to...try to locate you.” He reached out a hand and grasped Harry’s, allowing the younger man to sit up before they stood up together.
Harry’s mind was spinning. ‘Severus? Here? He was looking for me? No… It can’t be possible… why would he want to find me? Something must have happened in the magic world and they sent Severus to get me…I can’t do this… I can’t go back… I can’t…’ He gasped when Severus shook him enough to get his attention. “What…?”
Severus stared at Harry with an intense worried look on his face. “Harry!? Please… gather yourself! You are losing yourself to your own mental battle…” He looked around and saw that the bartender and the cook were too engrossed in their conversation about the television show to even care what happened to his Harry. Frowning, Severus gently pushed Harry into the booth and strode over to the bar, rasping his knuckles against the black marble counter. “I need water for the waiter. He needs something cool to settle him down.”
After glaring darkly at the bartender, who looked very much like he wanted to comment on how rude it was to interrupt someone’s conversation, Severus returned to Harry. He slid easily into the booth, seating himself directly across from Harry and handed him the glass. “Drink, Mister Potter. It will do you wonders.”
Harry downed the entire glass of water in seconds. He stared at the empty glass for a long moment before whispering to Severus, turning sad green eyes up at his former professor’s face. “Why are you here? I thought you never wanted to see me again after… after the last time?”
Severus blinked slowly as he stared into those haunted green eyes, reading everything Harry no longer cared to hide. Harry was still in love with him after all these years. He shook his head slowly, flicking his eyes over to the bar to make sure the men were not watching before he reached out and carded his fingers through Harry’s hair, giving him a half-smile.
“Mister Potter… Harry…I wanted to see you when you were sober… not celebrating the defeat of one of the darkest wizards of our time. I…your… feelings … were…they still are… mutual.” He sighed deeply. Speaking from the heart was not one of Severus’ strong points; however, he realized that in order to remove that distressed look from Harry’s eyes he would need to do just that.
“I just wanted to be sure that it was you that was trying to seduce your way into my heart and not just your drunken self that only wanted one night of pleasure before you turned around and left me, Harry.” Severus smiled sadly. “When… you did not grace us… me… with your presence the next day at Hogwarts’ Hall, I realized my mistake and how much I did…care… for you back then. How much I still care for you now.” He gently trailed a few fingers down Harry’s cheek, holding his own breath in and hoping against all hope that Harry would not turn him away like he had done him eight years ago.
Harry’s eyes closed, savoring the feel of Severus’ fingers against his skin. Licking his lips, he whispered, “Yes… gods, Severus…your touch is so much better than what I’ve imagined it to be.” Opening his eyes, green met black, reading into them and allowing himself to be read as well. Vulnerability. Fear. Excitement. Nervousness. Love. Those were some of the things that he was sure Severus could tell just by looking into his eyes.
“Why did… do you still want me Harry?” Severus’ voice was just above a whisper and to Harry, it was sexy as all hell.
“Because you understand me… and because I…”
‘Say it, Harry boy. Say it now before it’s too late!’
“Because I fell in love with you…” He lowered his eyes shyly, smiling slightly. “Because I still am in love with you…Severus.” Harry added the man’s given name, filling it with as much emotion as he could possibly muster without making himself look like the grand fool.
Despite how Harry managed to leave him in awe, Severus maintained control of himself and resisted the flush that wanted to cover his body. He wanted to tell the boy… no, the man… many things but he found them inappropriate at the moment. Instead he whispered, “As I am still with you.” The smile that appeared on Harry’s face lifted his heart. He was unsure of what he would discover when he entered Harry’s tavern but he was glad it was this. Clearing his throat softly, he spoke in a hushed voice, “Harry… when does your… shift end?”
Green eyes widened in surprise before he smiled at Severus, reaching his hand out and cupping the man’s cheek, sighing softly at the feel of the man’s skin. “Now. My shift ends now.” Harry stood up and took off his apron, walking over to the bartender and the cook, speaking to them for a few moments before he returned to Severus, smiling sheepishly at the inquisitive look. “I…told them I was taking a few days off. It’s been slow lately so they can handle it without me…”
“Are you sure, Harry? I don’t want you to…” Severus was silenced by Harry’s finger pressed to his lips.
“You know that if you asked me to follow you into another world, I would do so without so much of a second thought, Severus.” Harry gave him a slightly sheepish smile.
Shaking his head, Severus whispered, “Ever the Gryffindor you are, Mister Potter.” He held out his hand for Harry, the corners of his lips turning up just a bit. “Come...I believe we have much to discuss.”
Slipping his hand into Severus’, Harry linked their fingers together and smiled shyly as the other man led him out. Just as they opened the door, a wolf whistle followed by a “Go get ‘im, tiger!” came from both the cook and the bartender who were grinning broadly at them. Blushing brightly, Harry pulled Severus through the door and let it slam shut behind them.
“Those guys… they always try to…” Harry’s words were lost as Severus closed the distance between them, kissing the younger man into silence, realizing how much he had dreamt of this very moment. The kiss was soft, sweet, yet full of promises. Severus pulled away, staring at Harry’s face before green eyes opened, a dreamy look in them. “Wow…” was all he managed to whisper.
Severus gave Harry a slight smirk, flicking his eyes around to make sure no one was paying attention to them before he wrapped his arms around Harry’s waist, whispering, “Hold on to me, love.” When Harry slipped his arms through his and held on, Severus leaned down to meet Harry’s upturned face with his own and kissed him deeply this time, claiming the younger wizard as his. At the same time, he apparated himself and Harry into the room at the Inn where he had been spending the past few nights, trying to convince himself that he needed to continue following his heart.
They broke apart when air became a necessity, each man breathing harder than usual. Harry was sure the look on his own face seemed as if he could not believe this was happening. ‘How could it? Not many things turn out right for me…’ He stared at Severus’ face, looking deeply into the dark eyes that met his and he knew. ‘This did. This love turned out to be perfect.’ Harry gave Severus a beaming smile, holding him closely and pressing his head to the other man’s chest, hearing the steady rhythm of a heartbeat. “I can’t believe this is actually happening,” he whispered.
“I can, Harry,” Severus whispered back, pulling away and lifting Harry’s chin with gentle fingers. “My heart led me here to find you. After so long…” He ran his fingers through Harry’s hair and smiled at him. “Please… let me love you.”
Harry closed his eyes, sighing softly and whispering, “Yes… please, yes, Severus…” With that, Harry felt Severus’ breath against his face as he kissed his forehead, nose, and each cheek before finally reaching his lips. Steady fingers trailed down his neck to his shoulders, pulling his smaller frame closer Severus’ taller one. Lips opened simultaneously, the kiss deepening. Still sweet, still tender, yet beginning to come alive with all the love and desire each man had for the other.
Soft, needy moans filled his ears. Harry took a moment to realize that they were coming from both of them. ‘Gods… does the man know he exudes sex in everything he does?’ A shiver ran down his spine and he pulled away, his hands on Severus’ biceps to steady himself. “Severus… please? I…”
“Yes…” came the whispered reply. Severus met Harry’s eyes, questioning him, “Harry… have you… ever…?” The other man shook his head slowly. “Are you sure? We can wait...”
Harry gave him a half-amused smile. “Severus, I have waited far too long for you. I think I am more than ready.” He reached up and nuzzled Severus’ neck, whispering in his ear as he began grinding his pelvis against the other’s thigh. “Show me everything Severus. Please…I need you.”
The words broke something deep within Severus and he knew this was for real. The younger man still wanted him after so long and the feeling was returned. With graceful fingers, he began unbuttoning Harry’s shirt, moving his face to kiss his soon-to-be lover deeply, his own moans becoming just as desperate as Harry’s.
Pushing the material back off of Harry’s shoulders, the shirt still tucked into Harry’s trousers, Severus pulled back just enough to look at the slender yet muscular chest. Slowly meeting his eyes, Severus whispered, “You are exquisite, Harry…” He trailed a long finger down the center of Harry’s chest, half-smiling when a soft moan escaped his Harry’s lips. Dropping to his knees, Severus pulled Harry close, running his fingers up the slender back before placing kisses all over the beautiful stomach in front of him.
Harry began trembling, his hands holding on to Severus’ shoulders, his eyes closing just to savor the touch. ‘His touch is incredible…’A soft sigh turned into a lusty moan as Severus lifted himself slightly to nip and toy with his nipples. “Gods Severus… what are you doing to me?”
Severus smirked up at Harry as his hands made quick work of Harry’s belt buckle and zipper. “Just what you and I have dreamt of for so long, Mister Potter…” His voice was deep and sexier than Harry ever thought possible. Trousers and boxers were pushed down below Harry’s knees in one quick movement.
As Harry looked down, ready to comment, Severus wasted no time and took Harry deeply into his mouth, moaning his pleasure and content at tasting Harry for the first time. Gasps and moans came from Harry’s lips. “Gods… Severus…I… OH!… yes….that’s… Ah!…” He slid his fingers through Severus’ dark hair, holding him closer as he shifted his legs just slightly so he would not lose his balance. That idea was lost as soon as he felt Severus’ fingers gently press against his opening and he began trembling. “Severus… I… I’m gonna… please…”
Unrelenting, Severus continued to pleasure Harry, enjoying the way that lithe body moved and begged for more. Soon, Harry shouted his pleasure and he came, for the first time, in Severus’ mouth. Drinking him dry, Severus was smirking as he released Harry and wrapped his arms around the younger man’s waist, the same younger man who was struggling to not fall over. “I take it that you enjoyed that?”
“Guh…” was pretty much all that Harry could say.
Chuckling, Severus carefully stood up and kissed Harry deeply, pushing him back slowly against the bed. When the backs of Harry’s knees hit the side of the bed, he tried to climb onto it but only got tangled in his own shoes and trousers. With a few whispered words from Severus, the offending articles of clothing were removed and Harry climbed onto the bed, smiling coyly as Severus joined him, his confidence rising.
“I think you have too many clothes on, Severus. This may become a problem.” Before Severus could comment, Harry whispered the same words Severus had to rid him of his clothes. Giving a cheeky smile, Harry nodded. “Now that is much better.” Meeting black eyes, his green ones sparkled with love and desire.
“I concur,” Severus brushed back a strand of his long black hair from his eyes. “Now…I believe there is something we need to discuss, Mister Potter.” He pulled Harry closer, laying beside him and slipping a leg over Harry’s as one hand trailed over the delicate skin, slowly working its way downward and over his backside.
Harry’s cheeks flushed with desire but he maintained eye contact with Severus. “Yes, much to dis-OH!!” He closed his eyes as he felt one of Severus’ fingers gently prod at his opening. Unconsciously, Harry shifted his legs, allowing Severus some more room.
With some quick words, a jar of lubricant lay open on the bed beside the pair. Severus dipped his fingers in it before he began playing with the small hole that begged for him to tease, play and pleasure. “As I was saying…this is something very important to me, Harry.” He succeeded in pushing one finger in, working it in and out of Harry’s body before gently pushing in a second finger. “I may have turned you away when you were younger. Perhaps to protect myself; perhaps to protect you. Either way, I feel that…we could have…” Severus began pushing in a third finger, smirking slightly as Harry’s body shuddered and his eyes rolled back in pleasure. “We should have discussed things better. Given how much time has passed and it is obvious we still want…no, love… each other, there is one thing I want to make clear to you.” He pulled out his fingers and shifted his body to hover over Harry.
Harry pouted a little, still dazed by the pleasure Severus’ fingers were giving him but his eyes widened when he saw Severus positioned above him. The other man’s words finally sinking in. “Make clear, Severus?...”
Nodding, Severus placed one hand on the bed besides Harry’s ear, the other arm wrapping under Harry’s right thigh as he lowered himself to Harry’s entrance. “Yes… I keep what is mine. And you, Harry… are mine, forever.” With that, he surged himself deep into Harry’s willing body, lowering his face to catch the younger man’s lips with his own in a deep, possessive kiss.
Moaning his pleasure, Harry’s body thrummed with excitement as Severus filled him, claimed him. He wrapped his other leg around Severus’ thigh, accommodating his lover, moving and thrusting with and against him. Pulling away from the kiss, Harry moaned, “I’ve waited forever for this… yes, Severus.”
They moved together for a long time, Severus slowing down after it was clear to Harry that he belonged to no other. Their lovemaking was constantly on-edge. One moment it seemed as if they were reaching the pinnacle of ecstasy, the next it was the very slow pace that made each of their nerves feel as if they were set on fire. Many kisses and words of love and devotion later, Severus pulled his face up to meet his lover’s beautiful green eyes. So much honest emotion was embedded in them and he knew his own reflected the same feelings.
Unable to hold on much longer, Severus began thrusting with long, deep strokes inside of Harry’s body. They were each moaning and gasping in pleasure. Reaching one hand between them to grasp Harry’s length, Severus stroked once… twice… three times in a slower rhythm… and Harry screamed as he released his pleasure between them, his back arching and his body clenching around Severus. A few seconds later, a guttural groan escaped from Severus’ mouth as he thrust up one final time into Harry and released himself deep within that gorgeous body.
Harry managed to catch Severus and pull him closer as he turned them both onto their sides. Whispering a few soft words to clean them up, Harry pulled a blanket around them, his legs still wrapped around Severus’ body, unwilling to separate just yet. Their breathing was harsh and ragged but at that moment, they felt their hearts beat in rhythm with each other.
Long minutes passed before either man spoke. Finally, sensing that Severus wanted to speak but not quite doing so, Harry broke the silence. “That was worth waiting for, my love.”
Those had to have been the right words because Harry felt Severus tremble slightly and then visibly relax against him, kissing his way up to his face. Reaching up with shaky fingers, Severus smiled and nodded. “I could not agree with you any more…Harry.”
