I enjoyed seeing glimpses of Severus’ everyday life as a teacher. The way you depicted him (a disappointed, aloof man) made the outcome of his tutoring a student like Harry (a neglected, needy boy) quite plausible. I liked the ambiguity in this story a lot, not being certain who was lying to whom, or if it was just in my imagination. The only thing I’m sure of is that the attraction was genuine and mutual.
Also, I must say (after reading the other comments) that I didn’t find Harry’s jealousy creepy or unusual, and I thought his attempts at flirtation were cute. I’m just not sure he was truthful about why he appeared on Severus’ doorstep, nor am I convinced Severus didn’t have any doubts about Harry’s motives…
Was there any hope for happily ever after? Good question, Severus. *hopes against hope* A perfect place to end the story, though.
