Artist's Notes: thesewarmstars asked for Snape to have a collecting habit that Harry could find out about. In addition to the actual crystal Harry adds to Snape's collection, he gives a Muggle sweet found in seaside towns, one that usually has the name of the town or resort written in sugar on the inside. This 'rock' has been doctored for Harry's particular purposes. ;) Since I like the idea of Harry and Severus's mum conspiring to make him happy, I'm thinking it's one of Severus's childhood favorites and she clued Harry in.

Hence, 3 weeks of work later, 2 days late, and 100+ layers in APS... here it is... I refuse to look at it for at least a week. I'm afraid I will find a million things wrong with it. Artist's Notes: I really struggled with this assignment - how do I portray forced bonding without resulting to just an image of a ceremony? (And what scenario brought them here? Ministry machinations? Pressure by Dumbledore? Or a desire to help Harry against Voldemort via a bond with a strong wizard? My personal favorite!) With a love of tension and transitional moments, I came up with this image. I have to imagine it all ended up okay for both sides (alright, far more than just "okay" because like Rakina, that's how I like the story to go too.) ;-)
