It's odd, but in the scene with the Resurrection Stone in book 7, Lily says virtually nothing. She just smiles. I decided that I didn't want there to be perfect equanimity after death, the acceptance of whatever happened. I wanted Lily to feel loss and yearning for her child, but also hope. Despite the passage of time, she was only 21 when she died. And I think that knowing how much Snape loved Harry, regardless of any other feelings it stirred up in her, would soften her judgment of him. She'd forgive - and give up - Snape for Harry's sake.
Dumbledore, hah! It's my firm belief that he will never stop meddling. Besides, now he's got an accomplice. ;)
I'm very glad you enjoyed this. Thank you so much!
