Fic: Great Liars, Great Magicians
Title: Great Liars, Great Magicians
Author: [info]loupgarou1750
Giftee: [info]inoru_no_hoshi
Word Count: 24k +/-
Rating: (hard) R
Pairing: Snape/Harry
Genre(s): AU/AR (AR, I think), Forced-bonding, Humour, Angst (mild)
Warnings: *chan (15-16), mpreg, BDSM, cross-dressing, humiliation, toe-licking*
Disclaimer: All Harry Potter characters herein are the property of J.K. Rowling and Bloomsbury/Scholastic. No copyright infringement is intended.
Summary: Dumbledore forces Harry to bond with Snape, who demands an heir, but when Harry announces his pregnancy, Snape doesn't believe him. The road to hell may be paved with good intentions, but the path to love is strewn with sex, lies, and manipulations.
Author's Notes: [info]inoru_no_hoshi, you requested genderbending, cross-dressing, BDSM, plot, smut, snarky!Snape, chan, forced-bonding, AU/AR, mpreg, and creature!fic. I never thought I’d write mpreg or cross-dressing, but I wanted to hit as many of your kinks/likes as I could (alas, creature!fic was sacrificed to the gods of [marginally] coherent plot.) I hope I’ve done justice to your requests.
Huge thanks to my betas, A, R, and Hairy-nosed Wombat. Also *deep bow* much thanks to the mods for your great patience.

Great Liars, Great Magicians

Wow. Snape really is a right bastard sometimes. I kept expecting him to have a change of heart. I do love that Harry managed to turn the tables a bit-Severus's disappointment was so perfect. Albus the schemer was certainly canon. There were just so many games being played in this. Amazing.

Thanks. Snape the bastard is my favorite flavor of Snape, so that was fun to write.

Most excellent and interesting work! I really like how you captured Snape's personality. A very devious trick for Harry to pull on Severus like that, lol. Well done!~Sophia

Oh! Wow! Deceptions piling upon deceptions. Your Snape is a nasty piece of work, though it was touching that he seemed so lost when he realized the twist Harry managed. Quite a story!

I love it! xD I found it by turns intriguing and hilarious - Snape was just awesome. And uh. Was or wasn't Harry really pregnant? xD I got the feeling it was a farce, and then there was the whole "it moved!" bit, so now I'm not sure what to think on that front! xD

You took my requests and skewed them wonderfully. Massive kudos! The continued dog roleplay on both their parts was both a bit weird (as much stuff as I've read, I really shouldn't have grounds to say that, lol) and really funny. Also unexpected, so that was neat.

Anyway, my point with all this is.. I love it, thanks ever so! :DD

I'm so happy you enjoyed it -- a big relief actually. I've never written mpreg, and I don't read it, so I'm completely unfamiliar with the trope and was afraid I'd ruin whatever aspect it was that people enjoy about mpreg.

Harry wasn't really pregnant. It was a scheme cooked up by Madam Pomfrey and the potion she gave him enabled him to mimic the physical and emotional aspects of being pregnant. And yeah, the dog roleplay was weird to write; it was as close as I could get to including creature!fic. (I really did try to hit all your kinks. :D)

Happy holidays.

Maybe it was just me, but I found this crack-fic at its best. Snape was all over the place, first as the sadistic teacher, then at the opposite extreme as the emotionally wounded partner. And Harry went from defiant to weepy to strangely emotionally detached at the end. I did like Poppy's part in the whole charade, and the last bit where Snape says maybe they all make up two and a quarter wizards.

I'm sort of assuming that by "crack-fic at its best" you mean "crack-fic at best". It's definitely cracky. My giftee's kinks are my squicks, so writing it was a bit difficult and crackiness seemed to be my best bet. Thanks for reading.

Ahahahaha! I was dying laughing from the minute Harry was all, "Oh, yeah, this? It's just a potion Poppy gave me for the pregnancy...yeah, that's all..." Way to go Harry, lol. That was probably the best payback ever, though I was a little sad that Severus got so upset. :(

This was so good, lol! I loved how Severus just very casually threw back in Harry's face most of his attempts to thwart him, and jeez - never thought I'd see the day Dumbledore gave into bribery. But it worked! So great.

Wow, very Slytherin of Harry, that. And Madam Pomfrey, too! Dumbledore was right, it never serves well to underestimate Harry. *giggles* Hmm, and I loved the D/s bits! Especially when Snape began "taming" Harry. Guh. And the last bit? Harry planning to kill everyone who got in his way? New Dark Lord in the Making? Loved to see that. Also, funniest last line I can remember reading. ^-^

I have to admit that quoting Hitler, of all people, at the beginning of the fic nearly made me back-button immediately. Having Snarry being associated with Hitler makes me uncomfortable to say the least. I wonder what your intention was? Surely there are less infamous sources for quotes to be had.

Certainly there are less infamous sources, but once I found it, it wouldn't leave me alone, and it seemed very apropos for this particular fic. I'm not sure what you mean about "having Snarry associated with Hitler makes me uncomfortable," but I'm sorry it did. I'm not sure I had an intention in using the quote, other than that it fit the fic and hopefully gave the reader a little nudge in the direction of "everybody here is lying."

Anyway, thanks for reading, assuming you did.

Certainly there are less infamous sources, but once I found it, it wouldn't leave me alone, and it seemed very apropos for this particular fic.

So trivializing the death and suffering of millions of people is appropriate for your fic? If there are other sources, then WHY did you not use any of them? You made a conscious decision to use a quote from Hitler and now you seem SURPRISED that that provokes a negative reaction? SERIOUSLY?

I'm not sure what you mean about "having Snarry associated with Hitler makes me uncomfortable," but I'm sorry it did.

That you can so easily disregard their deaths that happened barely more than a century ago worries me, to say the least. Just because it did not affect your country as dramatically as the rest of the world does not make it okay for you to use it to be edgy.

I'm not sure I had an intention in using the quote, other than that it fit the fic and hopefully gave the reader a little nudge in the direction of "everybody here is lying."

Your attitude and that you seriously seem to think that this would pass without offending anyone, even though Hitler is one of the most negatively charged figures of recent history, and quoting him LIGHTLY reflects poorly on yourself and your story.

LOL! Oh man, this is crack fic at its best, it really is. And the awesome thing about it is that this isn't the very obvious crack, but the kind of "I'm really trying to be series here, people!" kind of crack. Or is that just probably me? Lol.

As for quoting Hitler at the beginning? I read someone else's comment about almost being turned off from the story. I just had to say that it actually made me MORE interested in reading the story. I seriously did not expect this to be crack, at the beginning, what with the quote and all. Just had to say that.

And I just have to say I think I know who you are! :p

Hmmm, this was really different, so cheerfully cynical, and i liked it a lot. I loved that even Poppy, usually the stoutly nurturing upright maternal female cliche, was so effectively vengeful and coniving, and really got one over on Severus! Maybe it was the Ed Wood reference, but at the end, when Snape was talking about engineering a grisly spectacle for V.'s supposed death, i got the image of Bela Lugosi wrestling that stupid rubber octopus, fake screaming "help!". (yeah, we just watched Ed Wood again) Good job!

I loved this.

Loved Snape the unmitigated bastard. Harry & Pomfrey scheming. Snape's hopes dashed--and, in his utterly selfish worldview, refusing to believe that torturing & terrorising Harry was anywhere near as bad as being given a hope & having it taken away. Loved that, by the end of the fic, I couldn't tell who was lying and who was plotting and still don't know if Voldie was dead or if that was some new scheme of A&S to bring Harry into line with their plans.

I love ambiguity in fic, and this one is so convoluted that by the end of it, I was wondering who Hedwig was plotting with.

Oh, this was brilliant! Simply amazing. I admit I was a bit taken aback by the quote in the beginning, but truly, I can't imagine another that would have been more appropriate. I like this view of the characters. It seems more honest than most and has more than a touch of real-world feel to it. I like the idea that the final battle will be a tale spun from whole-cloth by a set of fantastic story-tellers. Nice work. And the false mpreg bit was sheer genius. As was the "bonding." Heh. Brilliant. *bookmarks*

This story is terribly messing with my head...at first I was horrified and disturbed, then thought that certain parts were disturbingly hot, then found it so ridiculously funny, and overall amazing and genius writing. I think you are incredibly brave to write some things, and I don't mean the Hitler quote (I noticed some comments about that) but the way Snape treated Harry at first. I don't think I left comment after I first read this fic - I was too stunned probably to do so (and didn't know what to say probably) - but I am writing now because I realized this fic has a staying power (it stayed with me in my memory) which is extremely rare for a piece of writing (so many times I enjoy reading something, whether it is fanfiction or published fiction, but completely forget it soon after) so I decided it really deserves a praise. Do you have more ingenious stories written, I wonder... :-)
