Sorry it's taken me so long to read this. I missed a weekend and I'm still catching up. *g

This is bloody fantastic! I love the idea of Harry "conversing" with the Prince through the book.

Harry couldn't have looked away if Voldemort had appeared in the room, offering Horcruxes, six for a shilling. This line made me LOL!

Wonderful! Amazing! Beautiful!

Harry already being so attached to the prince that he overcomes his prejudice of Snape.

Severus and Harry getting to know each other as age mates before confronting each other in real time.

Severus having nothing to lose thanks to Dumbledore's impending murder and giving into his and Harry's desires.

Trading the kiss from Ginny to Severus so seamlessly and making a real love story of the final book.

You had me on the edge of my seat fearing for Severus' life in the Shack. But you gave them both a chance for a full life.

Thank you for writing something so beautiful!

I'd not realized that Petunia's reference to "that horrible boy" wasn't James. Even after reading Deathly Hallows, I STIL didn't make the connection. THANK YOU for making that connection for me!

And above and beyond that, thank you for writing such an amazing fic! Your recipient should be immensely pleased.

This is the only type of AU that I really LOVE. It feels like canon. It's just a step removed from canon... but it's so unique, and takes its own path, and is so artfully constructed around canon... I love it. This was excellent. This would also make an amazing novel-length. I mean, hell, 23,000 words is still QUITE long, but I can just imagine what you'd do with more time... my brain already wants to write "omitted scenes" for this fic. Even so, I can just picture them anyway, and can see what happened between times. It was excellent. Some great dialogue, some lovely banter and humour, and topped off with some hot smut, like icing on a lovely little cake. :D

Lovely, lovely! Wonderful AU turn to the story -- I enjoyed the development of their friendship and the way that both of them thought of the prince as Snape-yet-not-Snape, in the present.

This was brilliant! It all fit so perfectly into book 6 & 7 that I forgot for a moment that this isn't exactly how it happened. I loved the Prince. He was perfectly characterized, and so was Snape. I loved this! I am so glad I stayed up to finish it. Wonderful work!

I enjoyed reading this very much. I LOVED the interaction between Harry and Severus as "pen pals," and how this one different thing you changed from canon altered the way the rest of the events played out, similar yet different.

Wow, what an amazing fic! The premise is really compelling -- I loved the idea of Harry snarking back and forth with the prince. The way you shaped canon to fit the new scenario really worked for me. And your Snape...what a sexy bastard, especially in that first detention when he kisses Harry. *pants* Very satisfying!

OMG I was whimpering too. Fabulous story, brilliant use of the Potions book, best ever determined teenage Harry seducing Snape!!! I absolutely loved that they fell in love from twenty years apart. That Snape loved Harry and held a grudge when he stopped writing, afraid that Harry was disgusted by his being queer.

I never once thought about where Petunia and Lily grew up! I'm glad you did. :)

And *gargles faintly* the sex almost killed me.

Great use of canon...but with better details.

Snape wrinkled his nose. "Do you have any idea how many forms teachers have to fill out when a student gets killed?"

So very true. That's what holds my hand back as well. :-)

Loved how Harry fell for the prince and the prince for Harry. Their 'conversations' were very in voice and made me laugh several times. I was worried about how you were going to get they back together again, but you came through with your usual flare.

I am having the start of a lovely new year. I'm snowed in, and reading all the best the fests have to offer. I simply don't think it will get better than this, though! This story tackles one of the hardest parts of Snarry so deftly; how does Snape, so bitter and jaded, actually fall in love? It was brilliant to take him to his youth, and I loved how that desperation and longing could actually feed his Death Eater years.

The scenes wove through canon so brilliantly. You are an incredible writer, and I thank you for all the little touches, like Snape asking Harry to remove his glasses.

I wish this was how it really happened. Fantastic work, Delta! It's so wonderful.
