Today's the day and this is the post to sign-up!

A few reminders before we begin:

snarry_holidays is for stories devoted to the relationship between Snape and Harry, be it gen, pre-slash, or slash. Any stories written for this fest must focus on Snarry.

Fic must be at least 1500 words in length, and must be beta-read and free of spelling and grammar errors. Art has no minimum, but you should keep in mind that a quick sketch or an mspaint doodle would be the equivalent of under 1500 words.

No one under the age of 18 can write or draw, give or receive NC-17 rated fic or art.

Submissions will be due on November 6th, 2007.

Finally, here is the template for posting. Remember that your mods are not psychic, and will be basing assignments on the information that you provide, and only based on that information. There will be no switching of prompts/recipients. The only exception to this will be at the very beginning of the exchange, and only then if you know you can't fulfill the request ... so please give this some thought and give us all the information that we need to match you up with the perfect assignment!

Assignments will be handed out starting September 18th.

Wait, WHY are you screening comments? Argh!

No, seriously, this is one of those things I see people griping about in locked posts, that the whole "not being able to see what the playing field looks like" makes it hard to sign up because you have no idea if what you write is in any way going to work with what anyone else will, you know? And since it's not like the recipients are secret, it doesn't give anything away. And it also means questions can't be asked anonymously, and you can't append to your own request and in general it's more work for the mods. So...is there a compelling reason *to* screen?

Thank you for your input; however, we want you to know that we carefully considered both options before choosing to screen comments. Although some people prefer to see them unscreened, other people prefer to have them screened. Because we wanted to preserve the most anonymity possible, we chose to screen comments.

We apologize if this in an inconvenience to you. I hope this won't deter you from joining if you were planning on it.

Yes, sign-ups are still open and you are more than welcome to sign up. The more the merrier!

While many people may already have betas in mind, we will make an attempt to find betas for those who are in need of one. We'll likely make a post, after assignments have been sent out, asking for beta volunteers - and if that doesn't work out for you and, at the end of all things, you're still looking for a beta, just send us an e-mail and we'll do our best to find you one.

	Everyone is allowed in. :) Sign-ups continue through the eleventh of September, or until we reach our cap of 100 participants, neither of which have happened yet! 	I know that you're screening the participants' entries, but at some point would you be open to posting a list of participants? I have to admit that I'm really curious about who else is participating (I'd love to know what they're asking for, too, but my guess is that's why you're screening entries). Thanks! I can't wait. Yes, we were screening to keep the details of requests and writing preferences anonymous - it should make the guessing more challenging! At least, that's what we hope, that nothing will be immediately obvious ... though of course there are always some people who are just very good guessers!

We're still taking sign-ups now, but we will probably post the list of participants before we cloister ourselves with the requests and our matchmaking duties ... just to give you something to salivate over while you wait! These holidays are going to be very full of Snarry, it's obvious already. :)
