Grey, for [info]dracofiend
Title: Grey
Artist: [info]thebrandytook
Giftee: [info]dracofiend
Medium: pencil crayon, ink, marker, pencil
Rating:G
Pairing: Snape/Harry
Warnings: None.
Disclaimer: I don't own them, I just play with them.
Summary: You requested mundane infidelity, but it was difficult to portray in art. I tried to show the outcome of such a situation and how it would have affected the way they interact. The couple here looks less than happy. It's up to you what has happened to bring them to that point and how they will deal with it.

I think you handled the challenge really well, Sev looks really tired and sad, as he would after wrestling with a lot of strong emotion, and Harry looks a bit tragic, and conflicted. Nice!

Wow, I love your shading and their emotions. Oh, the angst!

Oh gods! the title 'Grey' is perfect, because the expression on Severus' face and the atmosphere of the piece puts me in mind of some of my greyest, most depressed times.
This is a very evocative piece of art, and it reminds me why I don't read infidelity fics.

They look more than "less than happy". It's more like a splitting situation, something like "there is no other solution" kind of situation. Severus looks tired and resolved to go away, while Harry looks sad but resigned - he is the guilty one.
Well done!

They both look so lonely, even as the other is standing right there.

The shading on Snape's face is incredible, and his nose is fantastic (don't think I've ever said that about someone, but there's a first time for everything).

Harry's eyes are particularly lovely, and the background, too - you've really given the impression of lots of light behind the trees.

Mmm I love the impression of "shades of gray" this conveys - y'know, nothing can ever be perfect and there's no black and white. Severus really looks like he's hurting - tired and resigned, knowing they can't be saved. Harry looks sad. Scene in my head: Severus telling him it's over, Harry being the guilty party after he realised he's done a horrible mistake, and not for the first time. But Severus is resolved, tired of Harry's inability to self-control, and so at long last Harry has to turn away.

This being my very first association, this really is a rather heart-breaking scene, in that way were tears are totally beyond any of the parties involved.

Great job!

Harry's face is wonderful. You can see the guilt in his eyes. Severus looks so tired and worn down--like he can't take any more. I love how they're not facing the same direction. Severus looks like he's walking away from Harry. Great job.

I see the tiredness in Snape's eyes, the resignation but I daresay I hate to imagine the scenario as Snarry infidelity always breaks my heart-you've done a great job conveying the sadness I feel when I read it.

Wow, thank you for such a wonderful Snarry gift!! I agree that my prompt was challenging--I never thought much about how it might be portrayed in art as opposed to fic, since I am no artist! :D It's so interesting to me to see other people's thoughts on who's guilty, or what happened. I love the way Harry is wide-eyed, looking at the viewer, while Severus looks skeptical. And old. I like the old. I like to play up Severus' agedness, maybe premature--and the age difference too, and you've done that beautifully here. This just has such a great monotone...and I really like your choice of title. Thank you so much!! Happy Snolidays! (hee, that's what my husband calls it :)

They both look so forlorn. I do think you did a good job with the prompt, sometimes having a partner can still be very lonely.

Mundane infidelity. I hate to think of it, but you can see it in Harry's eyes, the line of his mouth.

Excellent detailing, especially on the faces.

Very bleak and effective. I could imagine narratives which might implicate either partner. Well done.

I missed this post when it was posted :/

I like the expressions and Harry's eyes. And the style: it reminds me of Norstein's animation.

Harry's eyes look REAL to me for some reason. They look as though they could have come right off the street.

Haunting, yet realistic.

I have to make a note about the shading, too.

Overall, great! :)
