Our most esteemed 2008 Winter Snarry Games Teams have already been given this list of prompts and genres to peruse for several days.

OFFICIAL GENRE(S)CLAIMS POST

OFFICIAL GENRE(S)CLAIMS POST

Our most esteemed 2007 Snarry Games Teams have had a while to consider their GENRES for this year's Art Games.

Today, they must each commit to their choice(s). Then the Games will BEGIN!

Each artist has to choose their GENRE(s). Participants may choose up to two (2) genres. The judges will rate each entry based on their setting (ROMANCE or ANGST), their genre, and their overall performance.

The choices are:

1. Wartime

2. Postwar

3. Humour/Crack

4. Horror

5. Hurt/Comfort

6. Canon (Scenes from the Harry Potter books)

7. Fanon (Scenes from your favourite Snarry fanfiction*)

8. Alternate Universe/Reality

For example, if you are on Team Romance, and you choose the genres *Fanon* and *Hurt/Comfort*, you could present us with a lovely scene from Aucta Sinistra's "Quid Pro Quo".

(*You will need the author's permission to either link the story and/or provide a quote or caption from the scene you are submitting for judging.)

Similarly, if you are on Team Angst, and choose the genres *Canon* and *Hurt/Comfort* and draw us the now famous "Look...at...me." scene between Harry and Snape in the Book 7, The Deathly Hallows, it is sure to be an emotional hit with the voters!

You could also choose *Fanon* and *Humour/Crack*, and give us a fandom cliche, using no particular story. Team Angst could do a lot with *Wartime* and *Horror*. The possibilities are endless.

*Participants: Please comment to this post with your Team (ROMANCE OR ANGST), and your Genre(s).

*Alternates do not have to choose at this time. More than one person may choose the same two.

REMEMBER: Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success!

Good luck, and LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!

In all my excitement about this project, one thing I had not considered with regards to art was the issue of chan and photographic manipulations.
One of my trusted mods thankfully brought these important subjects up, causing me to rethink our strategy. Hence our poll.

In a Snarry story where Harry is ages 16 through 18, most people don't even bat an eyelash, but in art...a bit of a double standard, really. The results are conflicted, but our Champions are of mostly one mind, leaving us to make an executive decision.

Another legal issue is the question of Photo Manipulations. Walking The Plank does NOT accept photo manipulations for legal related reasons.

Well. Now that all those heavy things are taken care of, how about those prompts?

We have decided, thanks to input from our Spring Authors, that the pressure of posting the same prompt against one another on a daily basis is too much, and can cause unneccessary burdens on both participants and moderators.

Therefore, we have compiled a LARGE list of prompts (of which a great many were *pilfered* from various Art comms, thank you), and ask only that you pick one, or even several, and list them here in comments, so we make keep track of which you have chosen.

However, choosing a prompt will NOT delete it from the list. There may be several people who choose the prompt that you do, perhaps even from your own team. You might have to work a little harder to make sure your take on the prompt is better. *grins*

Also, we ask that you join your respective team communities, [info]teamangst or [info]team_romance, as soon they will be released to you, thanks to the generosity and forethought of the 2006 Winter Champions, our esteemed authors. . *NEW* [info]teamangst_art and [info]teamromance_art!

Thank you!
