CHAMPION INTERVIEW # 35 - Snakeling!
Original poster: snarrymod
Your Name: snakeling
Your Team: Team Postwar!
1. What made you decide to join the 2007 Snarry Games?
djin7 threatened bodily harm begged me on bended knee bribed me asked me in a moment of weakness, and I accepted.
Mod note: Hey! I asked her if she wanted to help Mod again this year, or if she wanted to be invited as a former Champion. She chose not to HELP ME. *sticks tongue out*
2. Which Harry Potter character is your favourite to write? To read? (any POV)
Snape for both, though I really like Harry.
3.What brought Snarry to your attention? Was it a specific event/fic/picture?
Copy-pasted from an old post of mine:
At some point during November 2003, I was given the link to Blood Magic. I bookmarked it and kept it for a rainy day. And then, on 30th November, I began to read. I was in the middle of switching Internet providers, so at midnight I was left without internet and with still about 20 chapters to read (out of the 50 or so that had been written at the time). Let me tell you I was not a happy camper ;) Thankfully, in the morning, the technician came, I had new Internet, and I could finish the fic.
I was instantly sucked in the fandom. I read my first Snape/Harry a few days after (I can't remember whether it was Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme by FemmeSlash or A Solitary Pleasure by luthien), and it has remained my favourite and primary pairing to this day.
4. What is your stance on "Quidditch-toned thighs"?
I don't care as long as they're wrapped around Snape's body.
5. Your own fanfiction (any fandom, any pairing): What do you think is your most underappreciated work? What do you think is your best work? Would you link them here for us?
Most underappreciated is easy to answer, if only because it's a non-HP story I never posted out of my own journal, which drastically limited the number of potential readers ;) The Last Night is a Eirinion Gil-galad/Elrond story, from the Silmarillion. A quick PWP celebrating life.
Best is way more difficult to answer, because I've got a tendency to hate my stories once I've posted them. There are two above the rest, though. One is my Yuletide story, written in a quite obscure fandom, Christopher Marlowe's Edward II, and it's called A collection of letters as were exchanged 'twixt King Edward and his favourite Gaveston after his exile to Ireland. (The title's a parody of the Elizabethan titles.) As you can imagine, it's an epistolary Edward/Gaveston story.
The other is a Snarry, And death shall have no dominion, written for Dusk Till Dawn last year. There are few stories I can stand to reread, and this one is among them.
6. In your opinion, will Severus Snape turn out to be 'Dumbledore's Man' in Book 7, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?
Of course. It's the only thing that makes sense, plot-wise and structure-wise. Though I prefer to write out-for-himself!Snape, personally ;)
7. What do you think of podcasting, the newest fad in fandom? Would you like to hear one of your own stories, or one of your favourites voiced via .mp3?
I'm very not aurally focused, especially as English is not my first language, so I've never listened to a podcast and I don't really want to. I might be more interested in dramatisations, where different people read the different parts, though.
8. What pairing have you never written that you would love to try one day? (Any fandom)
I want to try out Snape/Harry/Draco at some point, and I probably will.
9. What's your favourite kink to read?
Now, that's a difficult question to answer. It would probably be easier to list the kinks I don't like to read. :P
After thinking about it for a long time, I have to go with chan. There's something about a really young Harry...
10. How do you feel about participating in this year's Snarry Games?
Nervous and excited. Though I'd feel better if the two idiots were cooperating. ;)
Thank you, snakeling!
Stay tuned for more Champion Interviews, and even more Crack!Art!
