Your Name: mia_ugly
Your Team: Team Postwar
1. What made you decide to join the 2007 Snarry Games?
I tried to get involved last year, but the teams were full. It was great to be invited to this year's games, especially after having the summer of Snarry art to feed my imagination (ie addiction).
2. Which Harry Potter character is your favourite to write? To read?
Snape, and Snape. I find him much easier to write than Harry, who I always manage to make annoyingly wholesome. I like writing Sirius Black too, because then I just throw in a bunch of obscenities and call it clever dialogue.
3.What brought Snarry to your attention? Was it a specific event/fic/picture?
Oh my, yes. I first heard about slash in a magazine article, and went searching for stories because I didn't quite believe it. I found a general slash site, which featured lots of different fandoms, and was completely shocked that there was one for Harry Potter. I really thought it was the funniest thing. I couldn't imagine what the stories would be like. Unfortunately for me, the first story I ever read, EVER, in the HP fandom, was "A Choriambic Progression," by Mairead Triste and Aristide. Within minutes, I was hooked on slash fiction, and convinced of the utter and glorious rightness of Snarry, forever and ever, Amen.
4. What is your stance on "Quidditch-toned thighs"?
Meh. I'm sure I've used it once or twice, but it's getting old. Plus, I prefer my Potter a little on the scrawny side.
5. Your own fanfiction (any fandom, any pairing): What do you think is your most underappreciated work?
Most of my work (and let's not go crazy, I've written about five things) was pretty well received. My non-Snarry pairings are probably the least known and least read, so maybe that would count as underappreciated. You can check out Tremble (SS/RL)* if you feel the compulsive urge. What do you think is my best work? I don't know what my best work is. I'm never completely thrilled with any of my final drafts, truth be told. If it was up to me, I'd just keep working stories to death, and never submit anything. I can tell you what my WORST story was. It was the first fic I ever wrote, Snape/Black, and it will NEVER see the light of day. Honestly, it was so cheesily romantic, and there were far too many confessions of love that included weeping (I'm being honest. I'm pretty sure both men cried... hmmm... six times, at least.)

6. In your opinion, will Severus Snape turn out to be 'Dumbledore's Man' in Book 7, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?
I'd think much less of Rowling if he didn't. "Wow, the mean snarky bastard we always suspected of being evil, actually was. Good thing we can always judge people based on the greasiness of their hair."
7. What do you think of podcasting, the newest fad in fandom? Would you like to hear one of your own stories, or one of your favourites voiced via .mp3?
I like to read more than I like to be read to. Also, I'm pretty much technologically illiterate. I've been to the livejournal FAQ's page more times than I'd like to count. I've no problem with podcasting, but I don't think I will ever be really involved with it.
8. What pairing have you never written that you would love to try one day? (Any fandom)
Me. And your mom.
9. What's your favourite kink to read?
I'm kind of a sucker for romance, but that wouldn't necessarily be a kink. I also like First Time stories, and maybe a little dub-con. Just a touch.
10. How do you feel about participating in this year's Snarry Games?
I'm stoked. Thanks for giving me the opportunity, seriously. Honour's papers can be put on hold, but the Snarry Games are forever...
Thank you, mia_ugly!
