Original poster: snarrymod
Your Name: empathic_siren, though I sign most emails as just Siren.
Your Team: Postwar
1. What made you decide to join the 2007 Snarry Games?
Snarry is where I started in this fandom and I haven’t had as much occasion to write it lately. I suppose I wanted to get back to my roots and work on what I consider tough characterizations and romantic plot development. This can be a hard pairing to write believably—I can only hope that I succeed.
2. Which Harry Potter character is your favourite to write? To read? (any POV)
Draco Malfoy can be the most fun to write, I think. To read? Probably Snape—a well-done Snape POV is priceless.
3.What brought Snarry to your attention? Was it a specific event/fic/picture?
The first slash fic I ever read was a Harry/Severus. I was lucky—I started with someone really, really good.
4. What is your stance on "Quidditch-toned thighs"?
I feel the same way about Quidditch-toned thighs as I do about Harry’s tanned skin and Severus’s whisky-roughened voice. It just throws me out of the scene, I guess. (Though I suspect I’ve written a few things of similar character)
5. Your own fanfiction (any fandom, any pairing): What do you think is your most underappreciated work? What do you think is your best work? Would you link them here for us?
This is far too difficult to answer. It’s so subjective. Like anyone, it’s easier for me to point to fics that I was never quite happy with. "At the Heart of Things" is a good example, I think.
As for work that I’m most satisfied with, "For Things Not at Hand," written for Reversathon in 2006.
6. In your opinion, will Severus Snape turn out to be 'Dumbledore's Man' in Book 7, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?
Yes. Absolutely. I even have a substantial bet with my husband about this. ; )
7. What do you think of podcasting, the newest fad in fandom? Would you like to hear one of your own stories, or one of your favourites voiced via .mp3?
I wasn’t sure what podcasting was until I read through the question completely. : ) I think . . . in theory, I’d love to hear one of my stories read, or hear one of my favorites, but I sort of like reading and listening to the voices as I hear them in my head.
8. What pairing have you never written that you would love to try one day? (Any fandom)
The Golden Trio. There’s so much there that could be mined.
9. What's your favourite kink to read?
This changes on a daily basis. Right now, I have a huge jealousy kink.
10. How do you feel about participating in this year's Snarry Games?
I’m very excited! It was great last year and even more exciting this time around, because I know many of my teammates so much better.
Thank you, empathic_siren!
