CHAMPION INTERVIEW # 15 - Iulia Linnea!
Original poster: snarrymod
Your Name (lj and/or Penname): iulia_linnea
Your Team: Team Postwar
1. What made you decide to join the 2007 Snarry Games?
I was asked to be an alternate and jumped at the chance because, sometimes, it's all about the Snarry.
2. Which Harry Potter character is your favourite to write? To read? (any POV)
Snape is my favorite character to write or to read. The uncertainty surrounding his character makes him a delight to write, and I love to see what other writers do with him.
3.What brought Snarry to your attention? Was it a specific event/fic/picture?
I went online to see what people thought of the books and fell into a Snarry discussion in an AOL chat room; I thought they were freaks. Further, I thought such people couldn't possibly have paid much attention to the books if they believed that Snape would screw Harry and said as much. I was instantly challenged to a trivia contest about the books, which I lost. My penalty was to write a Snarry story, one in which Harry was still a student--so to stick it to the winners, I wrote a dialogue-only, girl!Harry fic.
It wasn't until I found rushlight75's Rite of Passage that I embraced "proper" Snarry. *g*
4. What is your stance on "Quidditch-toned thighs"?
I'm for them--all that balancing and clenching has to be toning something. ;)
5. Your own fanfiction (any fandom, any pairing): What do you think is your most underappreciated work? What do you think is your best work? Would you link them here for us?
My fic, Paying for It, a Snape/Rosmerta one-shot, never got much love. I wasn't surprised by this because rare pairings aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I was particularly proud of how I addressed Rosmerta's background in the fic.
I don't think I'm the best judge of my own work, so I can't say which one is my best. That said, I do love to reread Transformare, a Snarry fic I wrote for last year's reversathon.
6. In your opinion, will Severus Snape turn out to be 'Dumbledore's Man in Book 7, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?
Yes.
7. What do you think of podcasting, the newest fad in fandom? Would you like to hear one of your own stories, or one of your favourites voiced via .mp3?
Podcasting is an excellent way for fen to share the love, and I like the idea of fandom podcasting (even though I haven't listened to any of the available podcasts yet because I'm something of a late-adopter and prefer to read rather than listen to fic and meta). My own fics are probably better suited to being read than voiced, but I have recorded a Snarry prayer (links to NWS audio file). The text of the prayer is here.
8. What pairing have you never written that you would love to try one day? (Any fandom)
Aberforth doesn't get enough love; I'd like to correct that, perhaps by pairing him with Rosmerta. I'm a pairing whore, really; I'll write almost any pairing to see if I can make it work. I love a challenge.
9. What's your favourite kink to read?
Forced (and repeated) orgasm--bonus points to authors who include this in some sort of ravishment scenario, one in which the "orgasmee" wants, in spite of him- or herself, to be forced to come by the character doing the forcing but won't, for whatever reason, admit it. I realize that this kink isn't at all politically correct, but correctness in bed is misplaced. *digs fantasy play*
10. How do you feel about participating in this year's Snarry Games?
I'm thrilled! Even if I'm not called upon to play, I know I'll have a completed Snarry fic to share after the games are over--and I can't wait to start reading both teams' fics. *coughs* That said, go Team Postwar!
Mod note: While this interview was written when she was an alternate, Iulia Linnea has been called up, and is now writing for Team Postwar. We're very excited to have her!
Thank you, iulia_linnea!
