Original poster: snarrymod
Your Name (lj and/or Penname): Catt Kingsgrave (cluegirl)
Your Team: Wartime
1. What made you decide to join the 2007 Snarry Games?
djin7, and a really bad case of the 'metoo's.
2. Which Harry Potter character is your favourite to write? To read? (any POV)
I love to write Snape. He gives me a chance to really stretch my powers of vocabulary and the art of the insult. But Harry's still my favorite character overall. Even people who write takes on him that make the Baby Jesus cry tears of pitch and open one of his twelve mouths that will eat all the stars and leave forever in darkness (thanks, Chaos_rose...) can't make me stop loving my green eyed boy...
3.What brought Snarry to your attention? Was it a specific event/fic/picture?
I think it was If You Are Prepared, really. I know... what fangirl didn't lose her heart, if not her Snarrycherry to that amazing fic?
4. What is your stance on "Quidditch-toned thighs"?
Think it's easy to balance yourself on a moving stick of wood, even if it's not your own muscles that are propelling it? Take a look at the butt and legs of a Dressage rider sometime. Quidditch would be an even more intensely isometric and athletic workout, and that's before you even consider the fact that the magic to move those brooms must come from somewhere in the rider's own metabolism -- otherwise Muggles could ride brooms, couldn't they? It's no wonder Hogwarts serves so many desserts and fattening foods, really -- those kids must be burning the lot with every swish and flick.
In short? Oh yes. Very toned thighs in Quidditch, thank you.
5. Your own fanfiction (any fandom, any pairing): What do you think is your most underappreciated work? What do you think is your best work? Would you link them here for us?
I really don't feel like I can answer that first question, since I try not to judge the audience by its reaction to a fic if I can help it. I think of it more as 'this one took well' or 'this one was flawed', generally.
As for my best work? I think at present it would be last year's Games entry, Blood and Fire. It came out pretty much exactly as I'd wanted it to, from the pacing, to the emotional impact, to the feint and dodge I hid inside it. I took enough risks to excite myself, and apparently to excite my audience as well. I don't think I've exceeded it yet, but I'm hoping to this year.
6. In your opinion, will Severus Snape turn out to be 'Dumbledore's Man' in Book 7, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?
I believe that he is and always was Dumbledore's Man. I could count canon evidence (which is intentionally mushy, and therefore entirely subjective) until I'm blue in the face, but the strongest evidence lies in the second chapter of HBP, and the fact that unless Snape really IS loyal to Dumbledore, there is no reason for that chapter to have been shown to us. JKR may have some different ideas from me on what makes good prose, but she is not THAT sloppy!
7. What do you think of podcasting, the newest fad in fandom? Would you like to hear one of your own stories, or one of your favourites voiced via .mp3?
Yes. I've never experienced a podcast, but it's a notion of which I'm extremely fond. And asking would I like to hear one of my own stories done? That's like asking a cat if it would fancy a bit of your tuna sammich. Why yes, thank you!
8. What pairing have you never written that you would love to try one day? (Any fandom)
Honestly, I can't think of a pairing I want to write, which I haven't done already. I'm kind of a whim/challenge writer when it comes to pairings, really.
9. What's your favourite kink to read?
Rimming.
10. How do you feel about participating in this year's Snarry Games?
A bit of trepidation, really, but excited. And mostly, I can't wait to read the stories!
Thank you, cluegirl!
