1. What made you decide to join the 2007 Snarry Games?
Well, it's a pretty big honour, isn't it? I've been watching the Games since they started, and it's such a brilliant feast of Snarry, and not only of Snarry but also of enthusiasm and teamwork - I guess I really couldn't imagine turning down the chance to be a part of all that.
Not to mention I'm the laziest so-and-so to ever grace this fandom, and if I didn't take part in fests and challenges, I'd just sit on my arse all day and read porn. *ponders* Trying to figure out why that's a problem - give me a minute...
2. Which Harry Potter character is your favourite to write? To read? (any POV)
I really enjoy writing Remus Lupin, actually. (WHAT?!) Snarry is still my OTP, but most of the time I feel like I can't write Snape to save myself, and my Harry usually only has his name and appearance in common with his canonical counterpart, but Remus feels nice. I'm happy writing Remus. As for reading - well, who could say no to a well-written Snape? A brilliantly written Snape? *wipes drool* A bitter, lonely, harsh, sarcastic, violent, completely fucking adorable Snape? *wipes eyes* That's what I like to read. Shagging Harry, preferably, but pretty much any of the Harry Potter cast will do. :-)
3.What brought Snarry to your attention? Was it a specific event/fic/picture?
I think, really, it was discovering what was then Detention which had replaced (and was subsequently replaced by) Walking the Plank. The first HP fic I read was a Snape/Lupin - Wicked Game (NC-17) by scribbulus_ink, actually - and from that I hungrily went on to her Too Wise to Woo Peaceably (NC-17), and discovering that I liked Snape with Harry just as much as with Lupin (more, as it turned out!) lead me on a rampant Snarry-hunting quest which lead me to Detention. God, I don't think I got any sleep for the following weeks as I read ate breathed lived Snarry. I remember discovering wikdsushi's The Beast (NC-17) at about 12 o'clock one night and going to bed as the sun rose. Pouring through the Snarries there and the (then very plentiful) Potter Slash Archive whet my appetite forever.
4. What is your stance on "Quidditch-toned thighs"?
Two, please. Ironically? Sure. Sarcastically? Fine by me. Pervertedly? Love it. Seriously? No thanks.
5. Your own fanfiction (any fandom, any pairing): What do you think is your most underappreciated work? What do you think is your best work? Would you link them here for us?
Okay, so as per my aforementioned laziness, I'm not the most prolific writer. My move from fanfiction.net (where I only wrote fluffy H/D and James/Lily) to LJ meant saying goodbye to all my writing confidence. Most of what I write becomes excruciating for me after a few days so it's pretty difficult for me to think of something of mine as being "underappreciated" or "my best". However I realise this is just a roundabout way to get us to link to some of our work, so here's the Snarry I wrote for merry_smutmas, and here's a Snupin I wrote the other day.
6. In your opinion, will Severus Snape turn out to be 'Dumbledore's Man' in Book 7, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?
Uh, I hope so. Because as far as I'm concerned, if he's "good" then he's a complicated, thrilling, exciting, intriguing, intelligent, incomparable, 3-dimensional, multi-layered brilliant character - and if he's just Voldie's pawn, he's just your plain old storybook villain. Why not have the ugly, bitter, sarcastic, petty older man save the day? Why not have this beautifully flawed man be more than meets the eye? Why not blur the line between black and white? Why not change people's perceptions forever?
WHY NOT ALLOW FOR MORE CHANCES TO BASK IN TEH SNARRY?
Because seriously, Jo. I love you and all, but if Snape dies, you die, mmmkay?
7. What do you think of podcasting, the newest fad in fandom? Would you like to hear one of your own stories, or one of your favourites voiced via .mp3?
I don't think I've ever really listened to a podcast. It's totally not my thing. I like reading things in my own way - skimming over bits and reading some lines over and over and over until they're etched onto the back of my eyelids. I like dirty words like "cock" and "prick" and "I'm-going-to-fuck-you-like-the-filthy-l
Honestly? I think I'd rather die than hear one of my fics read aloud. How completely embarrassing. *blushes*
But it'd be a tough fight between dying of embarrassment and dying of fangirlish excitement, I can tell you. XD
8. What pairing have you never written that you would love to try one day? (Any fandom)
Hmmm. I think, for me, it's more a case of actually finishing. I mean, sometimes I idly think, "Man, I'd love to write [Snape/Hermione, Sirius/Harry, Lucius/Draco, Squid/Hogwarts etc]," and then I remember that I've actually already started about half a dozen of each, as well as a half a dozen of every other bloody pairing. That said, I'd love to write actually Goddamn bloody finish a Remus/Harry one day.
9. What's your favourite kink to read?
I love indenial!fics. You know, angry!wanking, stolen!kisses, hate!sex. Which is why I enjoy Snarry so much, because it works so bloody brilliantly either way - Harry hating himself for thinking dirty thoughts about his disgusting, greasy teacher - Snape loathing himself for wanting to do unspeakable things to that wretched little boy. *grins sappily* I also like dub-con, middle-aged sex, and fics where there's lots of tea-drinking. :D
10. How do you feel about participating in this year's Snarry Games?
Completely in over my head. Thrilled and terrified, equally! :-)
Thank you, captain_tulip!
