CHAMPION INTERVIEW # 1 - I Got Tired of Waiting!
Original poster: snarrymod
Your Name (lj and/or Penname): I Got Tired of Waiting igtow
Your Team: Team Postwar
1. What made you decide to join the 2007 Snarry Games?
I wanted to participate last year when invited, but real life interfered, so this year... Well, the wild horses did drag me a bit afield, but here I am.
2. Which Harry Potter character is your favourite to write? To read? (any POV)
To write? Oh my, that's a tough one. Can I cop out and say almost everyone but Ron, Hermione, and Sirius? To read? Snape leaps first to mind, but Harry is close behind, but I won't turn down Lucius or Draco (if well written), or Remus, or Dumblydore, or...
3.What brought Snarry to your attention? Was it a specific event/fic/picture?
The first Snarry stories I read were AccioSnape's "Something to Live For" and Amireal's "Pledges". I still read them and I think maybe that's what keeps me coming back for Snarry. I'm not even going to count the number of fanfictions I've read, both het and slash, but the only ones I read twice are Snarry and the odd Snupin. I don't know, there is a certain quality to the pairing, an undeniable, underlying sympathy, if you will, between them that, even if we (as authors) set them as hateful adversaries, will bring us (as readers) back time and time again just to see them interact. It is so easy to make the boys love each other--even when they resist--and maybe that's most of their appeal.
4. What is your stance on "Quidditch-toned thighs"?
Hmm... I'm more interested in a 'broom-gripping arse'.
5. Your own fanfiction (any fandom, any pairing): What do you think is your most underappreciated work? What do you think is your best work? Would you link them here for us?
Oh, good lord. As my own worst critic, I don't think this way about my writing as it all needs improvement to my mind, but I'll give it a try.
Underappreciated? A Bittersweet Aftertaste. My one and only foray in HP/LM. I rather liked it but was disappointed with its overall reception.
Best work? Walking a Fine Line. However, if one does not want to slog through the beginning part of the series to get to it, then I would have to say that The Twelfth Night : A Fairy Tale perhaps comes a close second.
6. In your opinion, will Severus Snape turn out to be 'Dumbledore's Man' in Book 7, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?Don't get me started. How can he not?
7. What do you think of podcasting, the newest fad in fandom? Would you like to hear one of your own stories, or one of your favourites voiced via .mp3?
I'm probably the last person to ask this as I don't listen to radio or ipod or audiobooks. However, having said that, I know tons of people who do. If someone wants to listen to one of mine? Eh, I guess I don't understand why they would want to. Just saying...
8. What pairing have you never written that you would love to try one day? (Any fandom)
Queer as Folk. Brian and Justin. Reunion. New York. Uh-huh.
9. What's your favourite kink to read?
Only to read? Pity.
Just about anything oral. Licking, biting, nipping, sucking--maybe not a kink per se, but definitely yummy and even better when soft silk and bedposts are tossed into the mix. Purrr.
10. How do you feel about participating in this year's Snarry Games?
Gah.
Thank you, igtow!
Stay tuned for more interviews and opening Games Crack!Art tomorrow!
