Your Name (and lj name if different): glockgal
Your Team: Team Rocke-- er, Team Romance! (teamromance_art)
1. What made you decide on Team Romance?
I wanted a challenge. I'm not very good at making Snape/Harry very romantic, so I thought it would make things very exciting and fun to try it out. Yays challenges!
2. Which HP character is your favourite to create in art?
I should say Harry, but can I say the Trio? They're kind of all-in-one, right? I just adore drawing all three of them equally.
3. Has your experience in fandom changed the way you do art? How?
Yes yes yes. Without fandom, I wouldn't draw as much as I do, first off. Second, I have learned so much from fellow fanartists in terms of techniques and styles. Third, the feedback and concrit I receive from everyone has been so valuable, I'm always thinking about and considering suggestions people have given me. It's like school without the tuition!
4. Do you prefer drawing your own scenarios, or drawing scenes from canon?
I really enjoy both equally. Canon can be so inspiring when I'm reading a scene. I can visualize it and I suddenly get the urge to draw it. The same can happen when I'm reading fic or talking to someone about a funny/interesting situation. All in all, I never come up with my own ideas; I get other people to do all that hard work, ahaha.
5. What made you decide to draw fanart the first time? Which fandom was it?
Technically I started drawing fanart for the animated series 'The Real Ghostbusters' when I was 12, but I only started posting fanart online when I drew X-Men comic book characters. The interweb wasn't invented when I was 12!
6. Who is your favourite fandom artist?
Making me choose is a cruel thing, because there really isn't just one. If I was forced to choose my top two and gunpoint, they would be Marta (seviet on LJ) and Anneth Lagamo ( http://www.edgeworlds.com/)
7. Have you ever been inspired to draw fanart for a fanfiction work? Why?
All the time. Other than canon, fanfic is my second source for drawing material. I am naturally uncreative, so when I read a good fic, the imagery can be so inspiring that I just feel that compelling need to render my visualization on paper.
8. What are your favourite mediums to work with?
Pencil, watercolor, ink and sometimes Photoshop, although I'm not very good at it.
9. Do you have a piece of art (fandom or original) you've done that you are most proud of? Would you link it here for us?
Arrr, I don't really have anything that I can think of. I can never think up things I'm super proud of, der.
Mod says: Huh? *thinks of several...dozen*
10. Are you excited about the Snarry Games?
Heck yes! For the gold!
*mwah*
Thank you, glockgal!
