Your Name (and lj name if different): Jessica (_odella_)
Your Team: Angst! (teamangst_art)
1. What made you decide on Team Angst?
Umm, err..I really didn't pick, there was an open spot left and I took it(sorry!), but I'm quite happy to be on Team Angst, it's a bit more challenging.
2. Which HP character is your favourite to create in art?
If you've ever been to my journal, it's pretty obvious I favor Hermione.
3. Has your experience in fandom changed the way you do art? How?
It hasn't really changed the way I do art much, except I do much more drawing now whereas I used to be more of a painter.
4. Do you prefer drawing your own scenarios, or drawing scenes from canon?
I prefer doing my own scenarios since I do alot of portraiture type of art. It for more flexibility to expand upon an idea than having to stick to the limits that a canon scene may sometimes impose on you.
5. What made you decide to draw fanart the first time? Which fandom was it?
My first fandom that made me start drawing fanart was Labyrinth. The fandom that made me start sharing my art with others was Harry Potter.
6. Who is your favourite fandom artist?
There's no way I could narrow it down to one favorite artist since I like different artists for their different abilities. For example, I love the innocent, dreamy quality of mneomosyne's work. I adore the detailing in caladan_dd and leelastarsky's art. I could fill up pages fangirling artists if I keep this up.
7. Have you ever been inspired to draw fanart for a fanfiction work? Why?
I draw from fanfiction all the time! I love it. Fanfiction is a well of ideas and inspiration that will never run dry.
8. What are your favourite mediums to work with?
I've tried almost every medium at least once, but I'll always come back to plain ol' bristol board and my trusty Foray 0.5 Precision Point ballpoint pen (2 for 4 bucks at any office supply store). All my expensive artist's pens, inks and whatnot usually just sit around gathering dust.
9. Do you have a piece of art (fandom or original) you've done that you are most proud of? Would you link it here for us?
I've always been very satisfied with the way this portrait of Snape and Lupin came out seen here. I was just really happy with the way their faces came out.
10. Are you excited about the Snarry Games?
Ah yes! I've only ever drawn this pairing once before and I'm eager to give it another go. It should be great fun.
Thank you, _odella_!
