Original poster: snarrymod
Your Name: nimori
Your Team: Angst
1. What made you decide to agree to compete in these games?
The oodles of Snarry, of course.
2. Why did you choose the Angst/Romance Team?
I chose angst because I can't write romance. At least until I commit to writing angst, and then I write nothing but.
3. Have you always been interested in the Severus Snape/Harry Potter dynamic?
Oh yes. It was my first OTP in the fandom. Now my OTP is Snarry+Sirius.
What? They needed a pet.
4. What is more challenging to you – working WITH strict canon or working AROUND strict canon?
By 'around' I assume you mean 'ignore'? Working within canon is more limiting, but I have to say setting up a plausible AU that utilizes enough aspects of canon to ring true is harder. But also more fun. Meaning I do it a lot.
5. What motivates you?
Candy. Also being told something can't be done.
...Someone should have told me weeks ago I couldn't finish my fic. Damn you all for being supportive!
6. Do you have plans for (or are you already writing) original fiction?
Oh yes. I'm an incurable worldbuilder. I'm only in fandom to learn how to write a story with plot. And characters. And, y'know, endings. That's what I keep telling myself anyway.
7. What three things are necessary for you to enjoy a story you are reading?
Characters and pairings I like. I'm terribly shallow that way.
It needs to be a story. It has to have character development and plot and beginning-middle-end. No matter how well it's written, PWP will not hold my attention.
Action. Not duels and so forth, just... things happening. If the story stops short and backtracks to explain itself to death, I'm going to get impatient.
8. What are your Top 5 favourite fanfiction stories?
Um. I've been in this fandom almost four years. I reserve the right to not answer that question on account of it breaking my brain.
9. Do you have a story (any fandom) you've done that you are most proud of? Would you link it here for us?
Potterella is my favourite, though not necessarily my best. Ironically enough it's a romance, but it has everything -- humour, angst, intrigue, secret identities, magic rings, motorcycles, Sirius as a blond...
It's James/Harry, but even if you're not a fan of incest, give it a try. The scenario removes any power issues, and the result neither lingers heavily over the incest aspect, nor dismisses it as irrelevant.
Version in which Harry is 16.
Version in which Harry is 18.
10. Are you excited about the Games?
If you define excitement as a descending spiral of anxiety and panic, then yes.
Thank you, nimori!
Mod says: Please be patient, the last prompt will be up very soon. After that, there will be a few days for last minute voting, and then the MEDAL CEREMONY!
Please take this extra time to read and vote for all the wonderful stories you may have missed, and let the authors know what you think!
