CLOSING GAMES ENTRY #11 - Drawbles by Team Cauldron's Umbrus! CLOSING GAMES ENTRY #11 - Drawbles by Team Cauldron's Umbrus!
Title: Closing Games Drawbles Artist: Umbrus Rating/Warnings:G to hard R, none. Notes: I tried my best to find time to draw a drawble for every fic on cauldron (couldn't get to them all but I got every posted fic that didn't have a drawble) and as I don't have as much time as I'd like with RL being unfairly busy some of these are very rushed and definitely not up to par but I think it's the thought that counts. Also, another thank you to my team, my team captions and the mods; you guys are amazing! and made this years games experience better than ever. I really had a lot of fun. Thank you! (Also, the concepts depicted in the drawbles obviously do not belong to me.)

For: "Bite Me!" By Eeyore9990 Relevant excerpt from fic: "Correct, Potter." Harry gasped. Somehow, though he'd been standing more than a dozen steps away when Harry turned, Snape was suddenly right behind him. Right. Behind. Him. And once again, Harry could feel every puff of Snape's breath over his ear and neck, ruffling the short hairs at his nape. "Right where I want you."
For: "Voices in the Head" by Curia Regis Relevant excerpt from fic: "I," Harry stammered. "I, you don't have... I mean..." He took a step back but found himself up against the wall of the Shrieking Shack.
In front of him, Snape had a slight smile on his face. "I believe I shall enjoy discharging this debt," Snape said slowly, as he advanced forward.
For: "Everything He Ever Wanted" By Beth H Relevant excerpt from fic: It has to be admitted that there was a brief moment during which Snape thought about hexing the boy - the young man - for his effrontery, but the sheer relief of being held by somebody who knew who he really was and seemed not to be entirely disgusted by it was so overwhelming that for what proved to be an embarrassingly long time, he could only cling to Potter's shirt and allow himself to be held in the warmth of his embrace.
For: "Falling into the Stars" by Gnomad Relevant excerpt from fic: Something wasn't right. Hermione hadn't described anything like this. Harry was fumbling for his wand when he saw Snape's feet lift from the ground and a renewed scream leave his throat.
'No!' Harry ran to him, heedless of the magic around them, heedless of the blazing starlight.
He threw his arms around Snape and pulled him back, furiously trying to think of a way to make it all stop, but in that moment the sky lit up to the brightness of a hundred suns and Harry's world exploded around him.
For:"Wicked Game" by Unbroken Halo (NWS) Relevant excerpt from fic: Severus eased back and Harry took a deep breath. Severus shoved his hips forward, slamming Harry's body against the wall. The force made him grunt, and in retaliation, he again stabbed the heels into Severus.
The stilettos spurred Severus on, and he slammed into Harry repeatedly, faster and faster. Harry clung to him, biting his lip to hold himself in check.
The furious pace, the rough brick against his back and the brush of the satiny material was threatening Harry's control, and that just wouldn't do. Severus's hair brushed across his face, and his teeth nipped at Harry's skin, trying to force Harry to give in and give up the Game.
Notes: I know - not exactly accurate, but close enough.
For: "Unrequited" by Nenya Entwhistle Relevant excerpt from fic: Severus narrowed his eyes. Was the boy serious? This calculation should have been easy enough for him. Why was he so slow? Severus was already exasperated when he leaned over Potter and grabbed the quill from his hand. Severus quickly wrote down step-by-step how to solve the problem before he set the quill down on the desk. Severus was about to withdraw his arm when Potter caught him by the wrist, much to his surprise and agitation.
Notes: It's hard to tell but I meant this to be the moment before Severus puts down the quill. Also, I apologize if their clothing is not historically accurate as I'm not entirely sure what time period it's from (though even if I did know I'd probably not have time to research it).
For: "Sine Qua Non" By Dracofiend Relevant excerpt from fic: Harry's fingers curl more closely around his. "Yeah," he whispers.
Severus' lips compress. He casts Legilimens.
The boy does as instructed—he doesn't resist; he remains motionless as Severus flows into his mind, into the customary chaotic swirl of mental flotsam. Severus doesn't try to make sense of Harry's thoughts—he is not here to examine—and begins speaking. The words he utters were penned by a long-dead wizard, seeking to fasten love to flimsy dialect. They are tender, and plain, not of slavish devotion or grandiose exaltation, and Severus gives them to Harry in low and even tones, feeling each sound course from his heart to his hands. It is all true, all of it, and as Severus speaks aloud the ancient gentle-fervent words the longing in him rises in a fearsome swell, making breath superfluous when Severus finishes at last.
For: "Something Ever After" By AbstractConcept Relevant excerpt from fic: Before Harry could answer, Snape had swept him away from Draco. They were gliding across the floor, and the room seemed to wheel around them.
“You see?” said Snape with the arch of a brow. “This is what it is supposed to be like.”
Harry smiled dreamily. “Yes,” he said. “I see that now.” They went round and round the floor, and even though it was late and Harry was wearing the most uncomfortable shoes in existence, he felt he could dance all night.
Notes: I tried my best to emulate the style of cartooning used by Disney hopefully I succeeded.
For: "Two Lords a Leaping" By Alisanne Relevant excerpt from fic: Harry woke up when Severus moved. Protesting, he clung to Severus’ robes. “No...”
Notes: I know Harry is clinging to Severus's arm not robes but this was how I saw the morning after the battle scene in my head when I thought back on the fic. I didn't think people would mind.
For: "Protecting, Still" By Centaury_squill Relevant excerpt from fic: He found nothing out of the ordinary in the bedroom or bathroom. In the kitchen, however, there was more evidence of violence: a glass coffee percolator lay in pieces on the floor beside a pair of scissors and a torn piece of parchment. Harry picked up the parchment; it, too, looked as though it had come from the Prophet, but this was half of an advertisement for Gladrags Wizardwear. Puzzled, Harry turned it over and found himself looking at Ginny's face, under part of a headline:
ero to Wed?
Torn as it was, he still recognised the photograph, which had been of himself and Ginny holding hands, taken at his eighteenth birthday party at The Burrow. How had the Prophet got hold of it? And from the headline, they were trying to marry him off to Ginny. Bloody cheek. But where was the rest of it? Why had Snape ripped the picture in half, separating Harry and Ginny?
As Harry stood, the remains of the photograph in his hand, a curious double memory surfaced. He was standing in Sirius' old bedroom at Grimmauld Place, holding a similarly mutilated photograph, but of himself as a baby, flying a tiny broomstick between his father's legs. Simultaneously, he seemed to see Snape, as he'd seen him in Dumbledore's Pensieve, tears pouring down his face, holding the other half of the photograph – Lily, his lost love. Then, he'd discarded the piece with Harry and James. This time, he'd discarded Ginny.
For: "Escape from the Tentacle Monster" By Curia Regis Relevant excerpt from fic: ...There was a burning look in his eyes, but his voice was almost harsh as he hissed, "Run! Run now!"
Harry found himself being pulled along by Snape as the Doctor ran ahead. Behind them, Harry could hear the angry cries of the Monster as it was deprived of its prey.
Notes: no Doctor as I don't know Doctor Who at all so no way I was going to try to cartoon him on the fly.
For: "In Theory" By DementorDelta and CruiseDirector Relevant excerpt from fic: It was still dark when he opened his eyes again, but it didn't feel like only a few moments had passed. The room, which had been lit by an elegant Tiffany-style lamp before he'd stretched out, was now dark, save for the soft glow from the fireplace. He turned his head to see if there was a clock beside the bed, only to realize the numbers were fuzzy. Where had his glasses got to? He lifted one hand, feeling it heavy with sleep, and realized that his glasses rested, neatly folded, on the nightstand.
Oh God, he hoped Snape wasn't angry with him. All at once Harry became aware that the other half of the bed was occupied. Snape was in the bed beside him.
Slowly Harry turned so that he was flat on his back, glancing over at the mound under the covers. Snape's hair fanned out over the pillow, and some had spilled over onto Harry's pillow...
For: "The Betrothal Contract" by Leela Relevant excerpt from fic: "Accio," Snape said, and a moment later, a box flew into his hand. The walnut box was carved with wolves, dogs, and badgers. Releasing his grip on his cane and giving more of his weight to Harry, Snape rested the box on his upraised palms.
Notes: I fail at depicting the fact that Snape is leaning against Harry but trying has to be worth something right?
For: "Lust Potion Number Nine" By LesYeuxVerts Relevant excerpt from fic: With Harry at his side, wearing the coat and scarf that Harry had conjured for him, Severus took his first step through the door of his shop and out into the sunlight.
For: "Decoy" by Lilyseyes Relevant excerpt from fic: "Watch the subtle ripples in the potion, Tristan, and you will see why the proper stirring techniques are so vital."
The little boy standing on the stool beside him watched with rapt interest, dark green eyes following each movement as Severus stirred in the last pennyroyal flower. The almost-four-year-old leaned into his father's side as they both watched the potion deepen to a lilac color. Unable to resist, Severus ran a hand down the soft, wavy hair, loving the auburn highlights and nose that were purely Lily's...
For: "Seer Divine" by Shadowess Relevant excerpt from fic: Harry slowly extended his hand to Snape. Snape gently took Harry’s hand and placed it in his lap. As Snape cleaned the wound, Harry shifted on the grass.
For: "Submerged" by Stasia Relevant excerpt from fic: Harry came every single day for the next three weeks to feed the seals. Really, he spent most of his time talking to the friendly one. He came to think of the time he spent with the seal, who he never could bring himself to name, as time he spent with a best friend. Somehow the seal’s dark eyes seemed so understanding, and he seemed so interested in everything Harry said, that the fact that he was talking to an animal … sort of slipped his mind.
For: "Temperance is a Virtue" by Yura_Slash Relevant excerpt from fic: Temperance slammed her now empty cocktail glass down on the table and made to stand. Too overwhelmed to continue the conversation, and too drunk to hope to navigate its many tricky dips and turns, she began to make her excuses, but Harry once again grabbed her by the upper arm to stall her. Then he leaned close, which set her to reeling and almost made her miss his next, sharply hissed words.
"I know it’s you, Professor. I. Know."
Temperance gasped in shock, and then realized too late that her reaction had given her away before a single denial could pass her lips.
