Team Snitch Entry (FIC): "Timely Actions" by Odogoddess
Title: Timely Actions
Author: [info]psyfic
Team: Snitch
Genre(s): Time-Travel
Prompt(s): Doppelganger, Coming Home
Rating/Warnings/Kinks: NC-17; Highlight if you wish to know: * NC-17, some very mild SS/LE and HP/HG (if you squint) on the road to SS/HP, de-aged Snape (he is 17 for the sexy Snarry bits, but if that is a problem, you can ignore the epilogue -- it's not needed for the full story), wet-dreams, a touch of humiliation, wanking, h/c, angst, bj, fingering, face shot, bottom!Snape. This story is loosely canon compliant except for Rowling's crapilogue epilogue.*
Word Count: 25,200
Author Notes/Disclaimers/Betas: Memory is such a fluid thing that if you ask ten people to recall an accident they just witnessed, each will give a different account, focusing on different things. Even in our own memories when we recollect events, we often focus on totally different aspects of the same event, not recalling it exactly as it happened at different times. So I used this device, not quoting canon moments verbatim, but providing a flavour of the moment, if you will. However, if this troubles you, call it writer's privilege, or if you prefer, think of it as eddies in the time stream. (someone should fetch him out). There is a tiny homage to Minerva as she is portrayed by the redoubtable Dame Maggie Smith in HBP. Speaking of Dames, did you hear about Dame Judi's recent sizzling rebuttal? That's so bloody brilliant, I'd like a tee shirt of that saying. This fic is dedicated to [info]regan_v, [info]jin_fenghuang, [info]dementordelta, [info]ellid and [info]accioslash for their extraordinary kindness, as well as all those I met at the Azkatraz Snarry meet-up. If you are one of the people I met, I apologise for any curtness and/or brevity; it was not you, it was me and the pain/exhaustion levels I was experiencing. Lastly, a lot of credit for this fic has to go to my wonderful (and forbearing) spouse [info]chazpure, who is, quite simply, the most amazing, talented and beautiful person I know.

That all said... enjoy!

Summary: First, Severus had to make sure Harry died. Now he has to make sure Harry lives.

I am so glad Severus got a second chance at a joyful life. Just yesterday I was rereading a couple of your older fics "My Own Personal Boggart" and "The One That Got Away" so when I saw your name as the author of a new entry I was surprised and excited. You alway deliver a well written story and a wonderful Severus.

That was amazing! I love a time travel/de-aged Snape fic. Your explanation of the "mudblood" incident is preferrable to, and in many ways more believable than, JKR's. Your characterisation of Minerva was great and Silus is a fantastic character. Full marks from me for this one!

Oh, this was lovely! I'm so happy you (and Dumbledore) gave Severus a second chance at life and a chance for joy. *sniffles* I really like the re-telling of certain canon facts and assumptions and the way you manipulated the events for your story. (I'm trying very hard to keep from throwing out spoilers here, but that is so difficult to do).

Kudos for your handling of Minerva, who was absolutely spectacular here. And I really, really expected young Silus to be someone else entirely and was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. Wonderful job of redirecting. And props to [info]chazpure for suggesting that pairing. I'd love to see an outtake featuring those two.

As always, wonderful work, hon.

You made me cry! Then you redeemed yourself wonderfully, and I was smiling boadly by the end. Excellent fic, I loved what you did for Snape - both the Snapes - all three of the Snapes - well you know what I mean. Great fic, teamie!

Third time is the charm ... It's my third intent to read your fic, until now I have been interrupted twice by bothersome phone calls. I'll come back once I managed to actually read the story ... what I've read until now looks really promising

I really do have a soft spot for de-aged Severus fics and yours hit it beautifully! Harry and Hermione tickled me to know end, and your McGongall was the BEST! Add a some hurt/comfort going on in here with Severus coming to the rescue yet again and I was a very happy reader! Great job, teammate! You nailed your prompts!

How can I fit 10s into the voting?! I love time travel and I love de-aged fic, and I had no idea how much I would love Severus's squib brother! I LOVE this story. I'm going to go and reread it right now.

Excellent reconciliation of canon to afford us Snape-ites with some ease of heart. Best of all is the new life you have given him, complete with family, a sense of belonging and forgiveness, and - the cherry on the top - love in the arms of Harry Potter. All told in your wonderful, inimitable and very fluid way.

This was such a graceful story and one to which I will return many times, I am certain.

Time travel fics usually mess too much with my mind, sort of like 'Back to the Future.' But I never felt lost in this one. Your scene breaks made it perfectly clear where the reading was heading off to next. And you tied up all the loose ends so well--altering 'young Snape's' memories, Snape returning so that Minerva would have the TT, Snape's bottled memories, which would've been painful and well, unnecessary, were thankfully non-existent. And I loved Juilus and Hermione!

And now Harry has someone his own age (sort of), and Snape and Fawkes are the heoroes!

I really enjoyed it; you nailed your genre and prompts. Well done!

I enjoyed your Minerva very much, especially her life prior to Hogwarts. De-aged Severus are some of my favorite stories. I feel as if this story was written for me too. Thanks!

There was so much to like about this story, but the one scene that hit me the hardest was Severus' funeral. My god, did I cry! Sobbed. It was such an intelligent and, I thought, beautiful insight into what might have happened. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed that too... but such tears!!!

Lovely fic too, nicely plotty and well done.

What an interesting, delightful story. I loved the idea of Minerva being part of the Department of Mysteries, and Albus scheming one last time to give Severus some happiness. Well done.

Poor, poor Severus, what a terrible thing to have to force lily away. But a great idea, and a great story! I love de-aged /time travel fics, and this one is excellent. I especially enjoyed Snape when he returns, his lines when harry wakes up are great : )

This was a wonderful read ^_^ I loved Silus Snape, so different from Severus because he was capably brought up by his mother, but still kind-hearted. It shows that Tobias Snape was the one who poisoned the family, because Eileen was able to successfully raise Silus on her own.

I love Albus's meddling with Fawkes' help to give Severus a chance at happiness. And Harry having that dream in Hermione's arms, lol! ^_^ They have to be really good friends to joke about it :D Totally different from the blackmail that the Slytherins held over Severus.

There was way too many good parts to this story. I'll definitely be memming it ^_^

I loved this so much. First when I saw Silus, I thought ah so that's what happens to Severus, but no, it wasn't, which was so much better. Severus going back and having to be nasty to Lily, that must have hurt *pets* and the way you portrayed the incident with Lupin, much more believable *hehe*, James was just as much a trouble maker as Sirius. The relationship with Minerva & Severus was nice. I loved Silus, he was so down to earth, but was so pleased Severus came back as Severus although younger, it was a nice twist. And even for the majority of the story Harry and Severus were apart the relationship grew, which was really amazing, this is definitely going in my fav file. Thank you so much for sharing *hugs* :D

Mmmm - double Snape!
How good is that?!
I thought you were going to leave Severus at the first hop back, for him to rturn as Silas once Severus had died. So I got really confused when you had them both there.
It seemed odd, but nice, to have Severus be 'younger' than Harry.
what a lovely thought - to be able to keep your experience and memories but have your youthful body!

Yay,such a great fic!
I was a bit worried when Hermione started feeling things for Silus,'cos I thought Harry had the hots for him,but it all turned out well in the end.

How I wish your Epilogue was the real one! Makes so much more sense to me.

Lovely.

Halfway through this I realised I was reading it too fast and really didn't want it to end. It was a brilliant read!

It's such a nice thought to have Snape being given back the time he lost to the war and really lovely to see it realised in your story. I also really enjoyed Silus (northern accents!) and the strong friendship you showed between Harry and Hermione. I was so sure Silus was Severus, by the way! But I loved the way it worked out, both with Snapes! Cheers!
