I understand why you'd want more time. Each entry this year is so good, you want to savor them. However, these writers have been waiting for more than two months in some cases to see their results.
We wish to remind you that the stories will stay up on the community for months in order to give you time to relax and enjoy your read. We are sorry if you wish to vote on every story, but we know that in some years that is not possible.
Remember: our voting system does not evaluate vote count, but the scores that are given. If you miss a few stories, the writer is not penalized.
Giving the writers timely results, or at least as timely as we can with such an already long fest, seems the least we can do after their hard work. I'm sorry if you disagree with that rationale, but it is a non-negotiable point. We will not extend the Games beyond the five extra days of reading time.
We do feel that the criticism is only effective when you do it logged in. Since we track IP addresses, we do know who comments, but we think the tone is innately more civil when you own your words, as we do.
