Besides the original idea and that it's a Resurrection Stone story (something I don't think we have enough of), I loved the fact that Snape exacted a payment, a very selfish one, in return for taking the Stone. Even in death, he's selfishly himself, and I loved it even more that a dead Snape was able to make Harry want him. Such pathos.
